The sweet little shops, extraordinary designers stores, restaurants, bakeries, bookstores and art workshops nearby are endlessly amusing. It is a very safe neighborhood to walk around in. It is the most alive part of the city, the place where the resurgence of local designers and manufacturers is really flourishing after the economic depression in 2001, which made imports unaffordable for locals. This sudden need to provide for themselves created a renaissance in local design and fashion. The standouts of this artistic awakening are within walking distance. It provides easy access to both shopping and cultural activities as well as to the many amenities and parks of Palermo and Recoleta. The subway is also nearby and it is close to the U.S. Ambassador’s residence and the U.S. Embassy and is near to “La Rural”, the Belle Epoque showground's and modern exhibition hall of the “La Rural Society”.
