This townhome is located in The Galena Territory on the 10th hole of the South Course. Golf right outside your door, and when you're finished...walk home. The home has one bedroom and one attached bathroom on each floor, and has been updated to create a relaxing, cozy retreat. This home has been wonderfully popular with 'girlfriend getaways', golfers, and families as well.
Designated by “Forbes Traveler” as one of the 10 prettiest towns in America, the town of Galena is a charming spot that holds dear to its historic roots yet engages and enjoys modern conveniences and modern living. On the banks of the Galena River, this town lies within a National Register Historic District and offers visitors a wealth of activities suitable for many different styles.
Our winter guests enjoy skiing, and Chestnut Mountain Resort is a 20 minute drive from this home. It boasts 19 ski runs and the largest all-terrain park in the Midwest. Ski or snowboard there, then enjoy your evenings by the fireplace, watching the 42” plasma TV, and sleeping soundly on the luxurious linens and the pillow top mattresses. And don't forget the Owners Club's new indoor pool is open year round, as well as the fitness center. The South Course is also home to a Winter Wonderland Nordic Center, in which cross country skiing, downhill sledding, and an ice skating pond are offered. Rental equipment is available for a small fee and the Nordic Center is with in walking distance of this home.
When spring is in the air....hiking and cycling are enjoyed by residents and visitors with endless trails to experience and places to see. The Bueler Reserve invites you into a world of butterflies and birds while hiking its beginner trails, and the Galena River Trail is a 3.5 mile trip for cycling and hiking, which affords view of the river and the Caspar Bluff land and Water Reserve which commands unparalleled views of the Mississippi River. Rentals are available in town.
Shenandoah Riding Center is open all year, offering guided horseback rides through the woods and meadows in the Galena Territory.Take in breathtaking views of Jo Daviess County and the Galena countryside while drifting on a hot air balloon 4,000 feet above the ground. Galena on the Fly takes groups of up to 14 people on a one hour sunrise or sunset ride.
It's a 10 min drive to downtown Galena, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll through the historic town. Galena is rich in agriculture, and you’ll find no end to fresh food choices. Local growers gather at farmers markets and you can purchase jams, jellies, along with gourmet items. Galena offers a variety of thing to do such as wine tasting tours at Galena Cellars Vineyard, spa treatments at Wild Clover on a Main, and a wonderful dinner at our guests favorite restaurant Fried Green Tomatoes. The shopping cannot be beat. Antiques, collectibles, coffee shops, parlors, as well as incredible pieces of artwork are offered here. There is a wonderful variety of food choices downtown from casual to fine dining and well as opportunities to take tours of the town. Wander around on your own, or take an organized tour. Relax on a one-hour narrated tour of Galena’s historic sites on an authentic 1940’s San Francisco-style trolley with Tri-State Trolley, open daily May through October.
In the summer, it's easy to spend the entire day at the new Owners Club Complex. Grand opening in May 2012. There's a new outdoor activity pool, and a separate chidren's pool with zero depth entry and bubbler inside the pool area. The fitness center overlooks the pool, and has new equipment and new TV's, they've added a new indoor pool open year round, a snack bar with a great menu and limited alcoholic beverages, a game room with pool tables, and tennis courts outside.

We had a great time staying in your townhome! The barware and spice rack were appreciated, as was the comfy sofa and nice TVs. We also used the fitness center in the owner's clubhouse, which was also very nice. In town, we loved our dinner at Perry Street Brassiere and enjoyed live music at Frank O'Dowds. Thanks for making your home more contemporary than most we see - it's like being at home away from home!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Stayed with my teenage daughters and lazed the weekend away! Very well decorated, comfortable and relaxing. Small details to comfort is the key to its charm. Owner very friendly upon making arrangements. Easy access to rental without having to worry about lost keys. Kitchen very well stocked, games in closet, small toothpaste tubes in bathroom a nice touch! Worth the price...thanks again for an enjoyable time.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.

This place has all the facilities promised in the description. The kitchen was great and so were all the board games the owner's had left for the guest to use. We were 4 of us and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. I would recommend this place to anyone considering a stay at Galena.Recommended for: Families with young children.

My boyfriend and I found this property perfect for the weekend. It was a close 10-15 min drive to downtown Galena. It was secluded, quiet and clean. Pictures are extremely accurate. This was the perfect place to stay for a few nights. The owers were great to work with! I would definatley return to this property.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Lovely townhome - cozy yet contemporary. Reasonably priced compared to other rental properties at this resort. Very nicely decorated; a fresh change from most of the rentals in the Galena Territory. The furnishings were very clean and comfortable (bed mattresses and fluffy comforters/pillows made for a restful nights' sleep. The kitchen was supplied with everything needed to prepare breakfast or a simple dinner. Property photos and description were as advertised except for one thing...the unit is located directly behind the golf course, however during the summer you cannot see any portion of the course through the thick swatch of trees/bushes. But if you don't want a golf view and like privacy, it is perfect. We would definately recommend this property and would stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Stayed here for a girls weekend getaway and we absolutely LOVED IT!! The villa is exactly as shown in the pictures. Loved that the kitchen is very well equipped. Beds are super comfy and the villa is immaculate! So many nice touches in the home, including board games, magazines, etc. So many details that made our stay more pleasurable! Dealing with Debbie and Bill, from start to finish, was a breeze. Can't say enough good things about them and their lovely home. Will definitely be back soon! If EVER you want to stay in a well-equipped, tastefully decorated, immaculate and comfortable 2 bedrm-2 bath townhouse, this is the place for you! Perfect for two couples, privacy-wise. Galena Territory is a wonderful location with many extra amenities (restaurants, general store, golf, etc.) on the property, plus the charminig town of Galena, with all its shops and restaurants is just a few minutes away . You'll love it! The owners are exceptionally pleasant to deal and it was a joy making the arrangements with them.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

Had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful and cozy retreat in the Galena Territory. It had all the conveniences above and beyond what you would need for a getaway. Very tastefully decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable. Used the fireplace on one of the cooler evenings, and it gave such a warm glow and relaxing feeling. Will most certainly stay there again.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

About the owner: We bought our golf villa in 2009 because we have family members that live in the territory. We enjoy spending time here when we can. Galena is close to many attractions. Wineries, antiques, golf, skiing, shopping, dining, museums, historical attractions...more activities than one weekend can handle. Not to mention the fact that the home is located in the Galena Territory, in Eagle Ridge, on the golf course. In the Territory there are restaurants, a spa, a marina, and horse stables.
Why the Owner Chose Galena:
We chose to buy in Galena because of it's proximity to the Chicago area and because of the many attractions here. Galena has a lot to offer in terms of entertainment and a lot of variety. It's a very charming yet relaxing town. There are many things to do in Galena including hiking, shopping, sightseeing, wine tasting and of course golfing. The town is filled with quaint shops, coffeehouses and restaurants, as well as artisan shops.
