  We rented this lovely cabin for five days in November. My brother and his family from Virginia met us there to visit with our granddaughter who is a freshman at ETSU. The home was perfect and was as cute as the pictures reflect. The owner was very helpful and easy to work with, we would definitely return to this property. We love the turkeys and deer in the yard each morning, hiking to waterfalls, and exploring the surrounding little towns. It was a delightful get away.

  This is our family's second time staying at Raccoon Ridge and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Mariea has a true gift of thinking of all of the little details that make you feel at home and as her guests we truly appreciated it. The beds are comfy, the sheets are luxurious feeling, the kitchens are well stocked with any dish or pan you could possibly need, the place is spotless, the views are incredible. Her cottages have everything a vacationer could want. Now if I only had more time off to come back sooner!

  Had a group of eight golfers and rented 3 of the cabins as each one wanted their own bedroom. We were 30-40 minutes from all our courses and closer to everything else we neeeded. Accomodations were clean, comfortable, and well equipped for cooking our evening meals. All golfers were pleased with their room and when rotation comes back around to east Tennessee Raccoon Ridge will be first on the list for preferred accomodations.

  Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.

  We just spent the weekend celebrating my sister's 36th birthday at "My Blue Heaven." The Good: The cabin was close to lots of things, but felt far from away - tucked up in the mountains. The beds were all comfortable with nice clean linens. There were an abundance of towels for us, and the bathrooms were stocked with shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotion. One of the things I hate is to spend a weekend away and have to buy toilet paper or paper towels - thankfully this cabin had plenty of both. The kitchen had plenty of utensils, cups, bowls, etc. There were even coffee filters for the coffee maker - something else that annoys me about other cabin rentals. Who wants to immediately leave for the grocery store when they arrive? We also enjoyed sitting on the back deck. There was a nice breeze and the views were spectacular. The Not So Good: Most of the previous reviews mention how clean the cabin was, so we were disappointed in how dirty the floors were. I always take my shoes off when I enter a house, but after only about 5 minutes my socks were brown on the bottom. This is the first cabin we've stayed in where we had to clean the floors ourselves upon arrival. Unfortunately, there wasn't a Swiffer - just a broom and vacuum. We vacuumed the rugs and swept the floors, but the whole place could use a Swiffer - imagine a commercial showing you the "before." There were also dust bunnies under most of the furniture. Would we come back? Probably, overall the experience was very positive. "My Blue Heaven" is a great place for family gatherings and relaxation.

  Owner response: All you have to do is look at the reviews of all 4 of our cottages to see what our previous guest think of the place. This person did not rent this cottage, his father did. He aparently finds something wrong with all the places he stays by what he said in the review. I live on the property and personally make sure all the cottages are guest ready. We started Raccoon Ridge Cottages in 2006 and have never once had a bad review. We must be doing something right as we have many return guest every year since we started We did allow them to bring their family dog and since we have 47 acers of woods I am sure the dog tracked in dirt on his feet. We do provide a mop a broom a vaccume in every cottage. We work very hard to give our guest an experience not just a stay. We are shocked and disappointed at this reviewer.

  Once again we stayed in one of the Raccoon Ridge cottages, this time in My Blue Heaven. The meticulous cleanliness is so appreciated. It was absolutely perfect for my aged parents with the main bedroom and bath on the main level so they did not have to use the stairs. We all enjoyed the back deck. It was so beautiful looking out over Johnson City at night. Thanks again for a marvelous experience.

  We just returned from a week at My Blue Heaven and I can only say that the name fits. The property is fantastic, the cabin is wonderful and Johnson City is great. The fall colors were absolutely terriffic! God spared no paint in creating the masterpiece painting that is the area around My Blue Heaven. Thank you so much for the fresh fruit upon arrival, that was a much needed snack after 10 hours on the road. The delivery of firewood was very much unexpected but a wonderful surprise and greatly appreciated. We had family members join us at the cabin and they all share our sentiments. Thank you again for being such terrific hosts. You can bet that we will be returning on a regular basis. (For anyone traveling to Johnson City on business - this is the place to go! There is plenty of room to spread out and work, high speed internet is available via wifi and it is close to almost everything in the area. Much better than a hotel.) Again, thanks Jack and Mariea see you soon.

  We had a lovely stay at My Blue Heaven. The beds and bedding are just wonderful. It was so relaxing and we felt right at home there. The kitchen really does have anything you might need to make a meal. The cottage sits on top of the ridge, so if you plan to take a walk be prepared to climb up hill on the way back. We just loved relaxing on the back porch and enjoying the peace! You feel like you are miles from anywhere but everything is just minutes away! We would love to go back again sometime in the Fall. I'm sure the view is even more beautiful then.

  It was just like something out of Southern Living. My sister and I were in East Tennessee for a family reunion, she's from Atlanta and I'm from Dallas. This was the perfect place to retreat to after a long day of visiting relatives! We had a wonderful time and it brought us back to our roots. Highly recommend it.

  What can I say? The photos of our cottage didn't do it justice it was outstandind. The view from our deck took my breath away. The first thing we did when we opened our cottage door was to explore our rooms and each one was perfect. I don't know which I loved the most if I had to say it would be the master bedroom. The cottage was set up so that all we had to do was unpack . We brought our three little dogs with us and everyday was a big adventure for them. They explored everywhere, our three city dogs quickly become country dogs. When you visit I'd recommend the big flea market on Bristol Hwy. and the Peerless Resturant in Johnson City. When it was time to leave I'm not sure who hated to go more the dogs or us. I'd rcommend this vacation spot to everone in fact I already have. Thanks again for the great time.

  Our stay in the cottage was just wonderful! It is professionally decorated and has many extra touches that make you feel right at home.. Thanks to Mariea and Jack for the cookies and fruit - we loved them! And thanks for being so nice and considerate! You made our rental experience a pleasure! If you are ever in Johnson City, this is the best place to stay.. A little home away from home!
