Norwegian timber frame home ideally located on a dead end street that borders Whitefish Bay State Park and Cave Point County Park. This year-round, 2,400 square foot home features four bedrooms and three baths, and can accommodate up to eleven people comfortably. The house has all the charm of a Swiss Alps chalet and was constructed by the original owner and his sons who were all carpenters by trade. The open beam structure is everywhere to be seen. Three bedrooms upstairs has sleeping accommodations for up to 6 people. The downstairs features a large room with a full bathroom and separate entrance way; which has bedding for another 5 people or be used as a recreation room. This extra room is perfect for extended family or a group of teens.
The main floor has with all the amenities of home, modern appliances, utility room, and is smartly decorated with folk art throughout. It has all the charm and appeal Door County has to offer. Curl up with a book in front of the wood burning stove, play a board game or charades with your family in the open living room.
Nestled in a 2.2 wooded acre lot; the Prancing Pony offers immense privacy. With full Lake Michigan beach access, just 4 doors down from the home, you can spend the day at the beach or walk along the miles of sandy shoreline recently ranked as Door County’s preeminent beach by the Chicago Tribune. A stroll down the street will lead you to Whitefish Bay State Park, while the other way is Bark and Glidden Roads – home to the Glidden Lodge, Donny’s Restaurant and beautiful beach homes.
It’s the perfect place to to escape from it all — ride your bike in peace, take in the scenery of the country, or stare at the stars at night on the large outside porch. You’ll sleep great listening to the waves crashing on the beach, the wind rushing through the trees, and the deer crackling through the brush.
