ReviewsWrite a review
We just got back from a week at this property. The photos are slightly misleading as the beach is right across the street but you are unable to access it because there is another house in front of it. The main reason we will not be returning or recommending this property is because of the layout of the upstairs bedrooms. There are no ceilings except in the bathroom. It is essentially one large room that is open to the downstairs that has partitions. No one in our group slept well at all. We also had issues with the management co. We called because we were unable to get the satellite tv to work and they said they would note it but made no effort to come and help us. We also had an empty gas tank for the grill and they advised us to go purchase a new one at the nearest gas station which set our meal back 45 minutes. Door County is beautiful but we will be searching for another property that is specifically not managed by this group.

Manager response: Thank you for the review. This family stayed for one week, Saturday to Saturday. We received the call about the TV issue on Tuesday and called back the same day with some troubleshooting steps that the satellite company asked us to do before they would perform a service call. The family said they would call us back after they tried those steps. We did not receive a call back for two days (on Thursday), at which point they complained that it still was not working. At that point we scheduled service from the satellite company, which unfortunately could not be done until after this family's departure. Yes, we do ask renters to fill propane tanks as necessary, which we reimburse for. Had we come to fill it upon their call, it would have set their dinner back longer as we would have had to travel 45 minutes first to pick up the empty tank; it's just a logistical problem of the length of the Door peninsula, and it is much faster for renter's to take care of the propane themselves. The beach is advertised as follows in the property description: "With full Lake Michigan beach access, just 4 doors down from the home," and is pictured for illustration. When we called with the troubleshooting directions for the TV, the family was at the beach so they must have been able to access it. Yes, the description of the bedrooms the reviewer gives is accurate, you can see the open ceiling in the pictures of the bedrooms, and as stated in the property description it has "open beam ceilings." It is not for everyone, certainly, but is a very unique and beautiful feature. Thanks again for your review, and we are sorry to hear that these few small items caused you to have such an un-enjoyable stay.
