LE MAS DE LA ROSE is an old farmhouse dating from 1860 with a typical rectangular plan with two huge plane trees in front of it and the antique well on the south side. The land is approximately 12000 sqm and there are more or less three different areas in the garden lay out. The entrance plot is the agricultural one with an alley of olive trees, fruit trees, olive trees again and a small orchard which summer time gives fresh tomatoes, zucchini, eggplants, peppers, basil and all aromatic herbs. You enter the second area or the inner garden through an imposing gate and you are in the more formal garden with four parterres of flowers and box hedges all around them. This is the south side and the house is just behind you with the two huge plane trees providing pleasant shadows in summertime. Besides the parterre there is the rose walk and the swimming pool 5.5m x 11m, with a small pool house. The third area of the garden is a big flat meadow with a fountain in the middle which is a wonderful play area for children and grown ups.
The house inside has been lovingly restored and decorated by the owner, who is by profession both antique dealer and interior designer. There is a wonderful atmosphere, a family house with plenty of interesting things: antique furniture, lovely objects, books, paintings, china collection, toys for the children, whatever you need to spend an unforgettable holiday in a movie set dream.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 1989
About the owner: My true passion are houses; Mine and also other people's. That's why as a profession I'm an interior designer, now for thirty years. I did my studies in England at The Inchbalb School of Decoration and I worked both in England, France and in Italy which is my main base where I own a well known antique shop. All my free time is for my four grandchildren, three of them are in this picture with my daughter and her husband and altogether I have four grown up children. I am very lucky with my wonderful family.
Why the Owner Chose L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue:
As I used to travel a lot in this area, which has plenty of wonderful antiques market and lovely antique shop and wonderful villages, and the most beautiful towns in Provence like Avignon, Arles, Aix en Provence. As soon as it was possible, I decided that this was the place for me, to come with my children and spend the very best months of my life.
The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
When in le Thor: I sleep well in the silence of the country full of little noises of birds, leaves, and sometimes wind. I eat the best and freshest food from the market in Velleron where only producers have a stall. My house is completely fulfilling from the esthetical point of view which is of the utmost importance for me. I work in the garden which is my first experience of gardening and I feel at peace with all the world around me.
