This was our second trip to Anna Marie Island and we will return again! We find it quaint, priced fairly and the free trolley makes it fun and easy to get around. A short walk from the house brings you to easy beach access, trolley stops and the inner harbor. Mermaids Cove was everything we expected from the reviews and photos. We would describe the home as comfortable, roomy, clean, and kid friendly. Highlights were the screened in porches and large heated pool, the fully equipped kitchen, well-furnished - comfortable bedrooms and other amenities you would expect at your own home. Laura was a pleasure to work with and went the extra step to ensure our stay on the island was memorable. Dining and entertainment options are plentiful but our favorites turned out to be the small surprises like Rudy’s – proudly flying the Wisconsin Badger team colors and featuring the best philly cheese steak we ever had - or the Fish Hole Miniature Golf center that the adults enjoyed as much or more than our grand kids. We highly recommend Mermaids Cove and will be returning in a few years for another visit.

Anna Maria Island Mermaid Cove Review

This was our frist stay on the island. The listing description and pictures were dead on! we had two families stay for one week, and had plenty of room. With 5 kids the pool was priceless as were the movies, games and short walk to the beach! The property is clean and maintained, the updates are great, it's not fully updated but it's hard to notice. I we hope to come back next year. I would recommed this property to anyone with kids and those that can walk up and downstairs as there are a ton! The pool is the best part of it all!! The owner couldn't have been more helpful! Enjoy your stay! We had lots of great dinners that we cooked in but also ate a few local spots. Eat Here is fabulous, Rod and Reel is a must! The Sandbar is great too!!

WE stayed at Mermaid Cove Christmas Week this year. There were 7 of us including 2 young children. This place is great..plenty of room...bedrooms separated...pool was heated and it was cold outside...cant say enough about the owners...the rental itself and the Holmes Beach community and village. The only thing i will warn you about is the hype that Skinny's has the best burgers on the island...Duffy's is a time tested establishment....New Place Same Face Old attitude...and by far the best burgers......we will return to mermaid Cove and Duffys soon...

We had a wonderful time in the Mermaid House in November. The house is exactly as you see in the pictures. Nice but not fancy--perfect for families with young kids and a nice value for what you get. Plenty of room for everyone to spread out and enjoy themselves and lots of toys and games provided. The walk to the beach wasnt too bad... obviously it's always nice to be right on the water but our two kids under 5 had no problem making the trek multiple times. Also close to trolley stop. Gorgeous sunsets at this beach! We enjoyed 5 or 6 in a row. The heated pool was a huge plus in Nov when the ocean is a little colder. The kids had a blast swimming and again, many floats and pool toys were provided. If we get back to Anna Maria Island again we would stay again. Recommend!

Our family and friends had a wonderful stay. We immediately felt at home: The kitchen is fully equipped, the home is decorated with taste and there were many beach toys for our 5 children. The big pool is also very nice. The home was also very clean.

It was the second year in a row we have had our "families" vacation here.(Kids & grandkids). It is a great place to stay and worked well for our group. Plan on being there next year.

I highly recommend Mermaid's Cove for a great getaway. The house was just what we needed and even nicer than we expected. The pool was fantastic and was perfect for the days when the gulf was a bit rough due to some unusual storms. You'll love the outdoor shower that's water is the perfect temp. The easy walk to the beach or the trolley makes getting out an about a breeze. The balcony's are great for relaxing or reading. The kitchen had everything we needed and the owner had included many nice touches to make us feel more at home. I just can't say enough nice things about our stay.

Staying here was a great decision. The owner was very responsive, the house very nice, and the distance to the beach can't be beat. They have a lot of fun activities for kids and plenty of space to relax after the kids go to bed. If you have children this is a great place to stay. The little things the owners have thought of made all the difference. Would love to stay here again.

We enjoyed our time on this charming island. This rental was very comfortable, roomy, clean, and easy to reserve and pay for. We enjoyed the screened in porches, the large pool, and kitchen. Although we didn't watch TV that much, nearly every room had one. As fortune would have it, a very nice family was staying in the unit next door which worked well since the pool was shared. After a couple of blocks walking to the west, we found easy beach access. Shopping, not grocery, was a further walk to the south. Trolley access was within a block. Dine in options within walking distance are limited, but we found Italian Gourmet Pizza and Wine (avoid) and Tortilla Bay (recommend).

Recommended for: Families with young children, girls getaway.

My family and I stayed there in August and we had a great time. The house has all the accommodations you need and more. We truly felt at home. The area was nice and the beach was magnificent. I have travelled to many Caribbean beaches and I must say that my family and I were amazed with Anna Maria Island for its beautiful beach. The people are very friendly and especially Laura (the owner). We were nine and had enough space for all. Thank you so much for letting stay in your home Laura.

This house was wonderful and exceeded our expectations. My family (10 people all together) was very comfortable -- the house had a lot of room, wonderful pool, that we used everyday -- the net really helped it stay a perfect temperature and it was bug free. The house had everything one can think of and it make our stay very easy. There were lots of water toys for the kids and bikes. Also the owners provided beach chairs, umbrella and the cart to transport everything with. It is just two short blocks from the beach and even our smallest family members didn't get tired walking. It really is very close to a beautiful beach and also to a free trolley (which we didn't really use, but we could have if we needed to). I would definitely return to Laura's Mermaid Cove again. Thank you so much!!

Our (rather large) family had a wonderful time. This was our 3rd year on the island, and was our favorite house by far. It was clean and spacious enough for us, and the kids could not get enough of the pool! Communication with the owner was very easy, and the house was perfect distance from the beach as well as stores/shops. Everything was clean, comfortable and very kid-friendly - with plenty of games, toys, and pool toys for them to enjoy. We look forward to coming back!

Our stay started out a little earlier than planned and Laura was so great about taking her own time to clean the house early just so we could get in after our long drive. She really went out of her way for us. At the house she has thought of everything. we did not need to run out and get anything when we first got there she had everyting imaginable. Tons of beach stuff,which was nice so we did not even get out our beach toys out. the pool was amazing and we used it everyday just beautiful and add the grill and patio set perfect for a family to gather. It was a nice short stroll to the beach and stretching our legs felt great after laying on the beach all day. Very clean house and AC worked great!! as it was very hot outside so it was refreshing. the outside shower was used all the time on our visit what a great thing to have for all those sandy bodies to clean off before getting in pool. we did rent some kayaks at JUST$FUN and they are super to work with they even let us have them an extra day ith no charge because the waves were too strong to kayak. I would recommend if you are going to kayak go to the beach they call"poor mans beach" right before you come over to island, so much calm. the desciption of this house is very accurate I would highly recommned renting this from Laura.

This house was a pleasure! We had 4 generations ranging in age from 73 to 18 months! It was exactly as described and had plenty of room. It was very clean and pleasantly decorated. We took full advantage of the beach and the pool! The owners were SUPER helpful and responsive when needed and had equipped the property with plenty of linens, towel, and toys! We will definately stay there again! We rented bikes, paddle boards, and baby gates that were delivered and picked up at the house - GREAT service. I would recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a clean, affordable, fun place on a beautiful stretch of beach!

We really enjoyed our stay at Mermaid's Cove. The pool was awesome, the brand-new grill and seating around the pool made our dinners really easy and fun, and Laura was so helpful about everything. I would recommend this property to a family or several generations staying together. We loved the beach, visiting Busch Gardens, and renting bikes to tour around the island.

We had a wonderful time during our stay at Mermaid's Cove. With ten people, we had more than enough room. The accomodations were clean and spacious and very well-maintained. Our kids loved walking right out the back door to the pool. Anna Maria Island is a great vacation spot. The beaches are beautiful. The weather was perfect and the sunsets were breathtaking. The owner provided everything we needed. We were pleasantly surprised to find we had access to everything we could have needed, a few of which included games,wi-fi, a basketball hoop, and a big flat screen TV to watch the Final Four championship games (even though Butler did not win)! The website's description was very accuarate and it was very easy to book our trip. This was our first time renting a vacation condo online and we were pleasantly surprised by not only the accomodations, but the value as well. The owner was so pleasant and easy to deal with! We had a wonderful vacation and look forward to making this an annual trip!!

Our family enjoyed a fantastic stay at your condo on Anna Maria Island. We came down from the Atlanta area to attend a cousins wedding nearby. The condo was perfect for families with children. There were so many games, toys, pool toys, beach toys, bikes, and several other items as well. We also enjoyed the short walk to the beach everyday. The wagon at the condo was perfect for the little ones to ride in - along with a few beach items. The sunsets were gorgeous! We walked down to the beach to watch the sun disappear into the water each night. The pool a the condo was wonderful as well, and warm, and perfect for all of us! The basketball goal in the driveway was one of the most used items at the condo - many games of "horse" were played. The bedrooms were perfect and the kitchen had everything we needed while we were there. We will revisit this location again. Thank you for everything!

Our family reunion/vacation was wonderful. Despite the weather, the house provided much enjoyment. During the rain storm, we played street hockey in the garage. It was a life saver for kids and adults. The board games were nice to have too, as well as the game box. When the weather was nice, we used the trolley to go about the island and walked to the beach. The house offers a great location and the pool was a plus too. I would recommend this house to anyone.

The home was perfect for us. There was a ton of room for privacy, even with family running around. Everything was new and comfortable: beds, kitchen, family room. The home was spotless clean. We enjoyed all the little details that make it really easy to feel at home and get right into vacation mode: books, games, beach/pool equipment, full kitchen. It's real close to the beach, so we could walk back and forth whenever we wanted during the day. Saw dolphins on the first day there! Also went fishing, but didn't have much luck ;) Maybe next time! The beach itself was perfect - there were only about 10 other people within eye-sight. The hosts really made us feel comfortable, and just wanted us to kick back and enjoy their beach house.

We really enjoyed our stay at Mermaid's Cove. The bedroom on the main floor was great for grandparents. The "younger" family members got to climb more stairs. We all loved it - from the 3 year old to the grandparents. The pool was a daily favorite. The 7 year old spent hours fishing with his grandpa and uncle. It was just as beautiful as the photos show. The location was in a nice quiet neighborhood. It was clean and well-maintained. The owner was a gracious as if we were staying in her private home. For food, we love Tortuga Bay and the Two Scoops ice cream shop. We also loved the trolley rides. There is still room for our family to grow so we will be back.

Our family (wife & I, 3 daughters and husbands and two grandbabies) had a wonderful stay at the Mermaid Cove. We had plenty of room, the pool was great (especially since we had it to ourselves). This was our first stay on this end of the island and we found the more residential area to be a lot quieter. The beach was just as great. The owner made our stay very comfortable and went out her way to provide some of the special needs for babies. We certainly hope to return in the future!
