HANA MAUI's most elegant vacation hide-aways. Balinese inspired, private, with ocean views, secluded and romantic.
Just beyond sleepy Hana Town... this property is tucked in amongst lush ferns, banana trees, bamboo, colorful heliconias, fragrant ginger, papaya, century old trees, and manicured gardens. Enjoy sea views from each verandah. Listen to only the sounds of the birds, the geckos chirping, and the stones rolling in the surf at night.
"Jungle romance." Bordered by ancient rock walls, this treetop cottage, architect designed, Balinese inspired, is the perfect quiet hide-away for two. Indulging yourself means a languid afternoon sprawled on the giant bamboo bed amid the perfume of jasmine and ginger blossoms, a soak in the built-in Jacuzzi tub for two on the screened verandah, looking out to sea and jungle views.
Treat yourself to a shower in your private lava rock enclosed outside shower in the garden (we do have indoor shower as well). Hammock, barbecue, lush, manicured private gardens are also provided for your pleasure. If contact with the outside world should become necessary, phone, Wifi, and TV/DVD are available.

My husband and I spent 3 days here for our honeymoon in November 2010. We LOVED it! It was peaceful and calm and we could hear the ocean and see the sunrise in the morning. Amazing! There were geckos and some bugs at night - but it wasn't a big deal. We liked the geckos. There was a great yard with fresh fruit and a patio below in addition to the lanai with the jacuzzi tub. Although there was another house close by the property was very private and quiet. The only mild complaint was that the walk to the beach was a little farther than expected and it was down paved road. Still, we would go back in a heart beat!! Robyn was also very helpful and friendly. She provided us with excellent instructions and one night where there was a storm warning she called to make sure we knew where all of the back-up supplies were. The storm never came though, just rain. Our time at the tree top cottage in Hana was our favorite part of our honeymoon!
Owner response:Mahalo for your happy review. It is a romantic place to spend a honeymoon and we are glad that you appreciated the specialness of this private and lovely cottage. We strive to provide a beautiful setting for people to start their lives together in peace and quiet. The easiest and fastest way to the beach is certainly by car, but this property does offer the option of a short walk for those who prefer to leave the car behind. We hope that you can spend many anniversaries and vacations with us, and appreciate your kind comments. aloha, Robin (manager)

These are some of the things we loved about this place: The flower in the tiny vase greeting us on the shelf at the bottom of the stairs. Waking in the middle of the night to hear the rain and feel the cool breeze blowing through the house. Soaking in the tub on the porch while listening to the ocean. Waking in the morning to see the light of the sun creep in as we laid in the bed listening to the birds. Bananas growing outside the window. The red globes (lanterns) and outdoor furniture on the first floor. The trees, bushes, and flowers surrounding the house. We felt secluded in our own tropical world. The outdoor shower- a special treat amongst nature. The screened porch- a great place to read or drink coffee. The openness of the house with all its windows. The perfect decor. The various statues. The break in the trees so that the ocean can be seen from the porch or the bed. The tropical flower arrangement next to the tub. The calm and peaceful atmosphere created here. This was a perfect place to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary!

Every detail of this place reminds you that it is important to appreciate the time you have here and drink in your surroundings. The hidden statues, the exotic carvings, the outdoor shower, and the smells and sounds of the sea and forest work in concert to pummel you into relaxation. This place was not just exotic, it was very comfortable. You don't feel like you're missing out on a lot if you just relax on the porch all day. We felt like we were staying on an island within an island. We will recommend it to our best friends.
