Cobble Hill house description

If you're looking for a relaxing family vacation in the beautiful Cowichan Valley, you've found the perfect home base! Our home is situated on a beautiful oceanfront acreage overlooking the Satellite Channel and the southern tip of Salt Spring Island. Take in the gorgeous cedar and pine trees, a growing vineyard, and 500 ft of oceanfront with direct access to the rugged beach. On a clear day, wake up and look across to majestic Mt Baker in the distance and enjoy the eagles soaring past.

On the main floor, our home features the living room, kitchen, two bedrooms and 2 baths. One of the bedrooms is a very large master bedroom with a luxurious, new king bed, en-suite bath and walk in closet. From the master you can walk right out to the deck to take in the gorgeous view or simply look out the bay window -- a perfect place to read a book. The 2nd bedroom has 2 XL twin beds with a large closet – the bathroom is right next door featuring a extra long jetted tub. The living room is very gracious and can accommodate several people - perfect for hanging out or watching the 42” LCD TV. The kitchen and dining area adjoin the living room so entertaining is a breeze. The kitchen also leads to the deck for easy access to the gas BBQ. For your convenience, there is also a washer and dryer on the main floor adjacent to the bedrooms.

On the ground floor are the 3rd and 4th bedrooms. The larger one (similar to the master upstairs) features a queen bed and has beautiful views out of two separate windows. Should you require extra sleeping arrangements, this room could easily accommodate a cot or blow up mattress.

The 4th bedroom is the smallest and has twin bunk beds – a great solution for kids.

Enjoy all that the Cowichan Valley has to offer (wineries, golfing, biking, fishing, horseback riding) but come back to our private escape at the end of the day to unwind. We are 45 minutes by car from Victoria, 20 minutes by car to the Salt Spring Island ferry, and 50 minutes from Nanaimo.

FOODIE ALERT - In its July 2010 issue, the magazine "Travel and Leisure" wrote an article about the Cowichan Valley's culinary food scene. Most of the restaurants mentioned are 5-10 minutes away from our home. To find the article, do a search on "Cowichan Valley + Travel and Leisure"

                      About the owner: We are wannabe West Coasters who live in Eastern Canada. With all our relatives out there, we wanted to have a place to call our own.

                      Why the Owner Chose Cobble Hill:
                      Our family purchased this property in 2004 when we were looking for a family getaway spot where our kids could make special memories. We're city folks and wanted a slower, quieter pace in a picturesque area. The Cowichan Valley gives us the best of both worlds -- we take advantage of all the recreation available (golf, kayaking, hiking, wine tours, etc) and all the peace as well.
