Beautiful Lake Get Away!
Beautiful Lake Get Away!
We just returned from our week long vacation at this property and had an amazing time. The cottage was the perfect size for our family of four. It was comfortable and situated right on the lake. The location allowed us to fish, kayak (there are two available to use), swim and use our small boat throughout the whole week. The lake itself is absolutely beautiful, clean and big enough to explore. It is in a somewhat remote location so it is quiet and very peaceful. The deck overlooks the lake and a relaxing place to spend time at the end of the busy day. The owners are very nice and communicated all we needed to know before we went. They were great about answering questions too. It is obvious that they love it there and wanted our stay to be fantastic. We did not bring our dog, but we were encouraged to by the owners. They welcome pets. There is so much to do in this area, as well. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a short drive away. Bangor and Ellsworth are also close by. On one morning when it was cloudy and rainy, we were able to head to Bar Harbor for the day and then back to lake when the sun came out. We also went hiking in Acadia at the top of Cadillac Mountain. Acadia is truly breathtaking! Our kids, who are 10 and 13, had a great week and we were all sad to have to leave at the end of our stay.

About the owner: My husband and I always dreamed of owning a lakefront cottage. After many years of vacationing at a Vermont lake, we discovered Beech Hill Pond in Maine. Here, we were able to enjoy the best of a lovely, secluded lake with easy access to the coast at nearby Acadia/Bar Harbor.
Why the Owner Chose Ellsworth:
The many recreational opportunities afforded by the lake, seacoast, and nearby Bangor influenced our decision to buy our cottage. In addition, Maine offers so many travel opportunities: taking the ferry to Nova Scotia from Bar Harbor, touring such cities as Portland and Freeport, and hiking Mt. Katahdin.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Our cottage provides a comfortable, peaceful atmosphere with easy swimming, boating, and fishing access to one of the prettiest lakes in Maine.
