York Harbor Victorian - 5 Minute Walk to Sandy Beach
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:No
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Charming Victorian home (used as B&B off season) within walking distance to sandy cove beach with bathrooms and shady park above it, fishing, crabbing at the Wiggly Bridge Nature Preserve. There are great lobster restaurants within walking distance or steam your own with the crackers and even the bibs (or let the kids choose their lobster at Mary's lobster pound just around the corner). The house is very family friendly. There are three porches to gather (or sip coffee alone). There are games, books, craft supplies, legos, dolls and their houses for after the beach fun. If the kids didn't get enough sand, there is a sandbox in the fenced in side yard with plenty of buckets and shovels. There are 2 porta cribs, high chairs and safe environment for little ones. We can recommend a great babysitter as well. Not a beach day? The library has free childrens' movies on 'cloudy' days. Each of the 5 bedrooms has hardwood floors, ceiling fans, wicker & oak furnishings, TV and bathroom, (total 6 bathrooms) - ideal for large families and reunions -complimentary high speed Internet access and long distance phone service. We think we have everything you need to have a truly great summer 'Maine Experience'.

The Inn at Harmon Park is located in York Harbor, along the southern coast of Maine, two beautiful blocks from a magnificent little sand beach. Hidden away from the hub bub and hassle of city life, it's a perfect spot for me to remember my childhood and how life used to be. The owner, Sue Antall, rents the Inn at Harmon Park out by the week in the summer. There were more than enough bedrooms to house my large family comfortably. It may not be the fanciest Inn in town, but it has a style and feel that keeps bringing my family and I back summer after summer. If Boston has given you a run for your money this summer and you need to find an escape in the fall, you are only an hour and half away from sand beaches, lobsters, wiggly bridges, the bagel shack, A wonderful covered side porch, and Brown's Ice cream. I highly recommend you stay here. Stayed July 2011, traveled with familyDid you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

This property was fantastic. We had five children under the age of 5 and 8 adults and we all fit comfortably in the bedrooms and each family had its own bathroom. The owner takes great pride in the home and it is very charming and warm. All areas were very clean and she met us at the start of our trip to get us settled in and answer any questions that we had, as well as was available by phone as we needed her. She also goes above and beyond and provides many items that you would need for babies (high chairs, pack n plays, stroller, wagon, beach toys) This helps with packing and was super helpful. The house also has every appliance/cooking item you could need as well as a grill. There are so many common areas that even with the number of people in our party you could still find a cozy nook to escape to. The porches on the front and the side of the house are so inviting and provide so many wonderful places to sit and talk or eat or play games. The beach is so close, less than a ten minute walk and there is also a wonderful path to a fun walking bridge. We also had to use the emergency room in York and it was one of the nicest urgent care centers I have been too....even that part of our vacation went so well and the people were so nice. We will be renting again.....as well as many of my friends to whom I have now bragged to. I highly recommend this home for families that want to have a house together but would still prefer to have their own bedroom and bath space.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car.

We were made feel at home by the owner as soon as we arrived. She was wonderful. We were a party of 10. The house was so large that everyone had tons of space and felt 'free' in a most beautiful part of the world. The bedrooms were spacious, as the same with the living rooms. The location was superb for what we wanted. I would definately recommend this property to anyone.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
