  Our computer is finally repaired and hopefully, this review finally goes through. I found out why it was not going through when I was trying to send it through my email from work, will not send any personal emails from work anymore, that is all I need to say. When my family arrived at our destination our first comment was we loved the location, so private and lots of parking! We entered the cabin and we were all extremely pleased at what we saw. We have been renting cabins in the mountains for 50 plus years and this is by far the best one so far. We rent different cabins just for the excitement, but since renting this cabin, we are done looking. Why would we go anywhere else? This cabin has everything you need. It is comfortable, clean and has a kitchen with everything and anything you need. You will not be looking for anything because it is all there. Every room has a TV, and guess what...everything works! There are plenty of linens, towels, pillows, blankets and all you need to bring up is your clothes and food. It is peaceful and so quiet and we were able to really relax without any annoying noise and heard only the chirping of birds and the wind blowing. Linda and her family were extremely fair, friendly, kind and so helpful with everything. My sister was able to join us for a few days and she was so impressed, she too will only stay at this cabin while renting in the mountains. We actually did not want to leave and stayed another night because we enjoyed it so much. Again, no problem in staying because Linda was so kind about it. Linda went above and beyond on things she did and we were all just so amazed. There was not one single problem and I can bet if there were, it would have been taken care of immediately. Do not bother looking, stay here, listen and believe me, it is the best experience we have ever had and this will be our home away from home when we vacation in the mountains. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall this cabin has it all!!! Thank you Hensley family for sharing with others your beautiful home!

  Let me start by saying that this is by far the BEST place we have ever rented/stayed at in Big Bear !!!! We travel to Big Bear every February for our annual ski getaway and have rented many cabins thru VRBO. We believe that the Boulder Bay Area is truly the most beautiful and quiet area of the mountain. We were going to be traveling with another family this year and were looking for larger accomodations when we came across VRBO # 284828 and were so excited by its location, description and photos. The rental process was seamless, the owner responded quickly and was such a delight to work with. She was friendly, and helped with info for our friends (that were 1st timers not only to the Big Bear area but also 1st timers to the snow) and snow we had (lots of fresh powder). We arrived to the MOST AMAZING mountain home nestled on a quiet street (a beautiful view of the lake from the front yard). The owner of this fabulous mountain retreat has decorated with a designer's touch and kept it warm and welcoming with family mementos --beautiful wood cabinetry and floors, luxurious carpet, warm & comfy bedding, oversized sofas and a leather chair (a favorite of the adults for sure). The owner has truly thought of everything ...the game room with darts, TV and game table kept the kids (big and small) entertained after dinner each night. The kitchen is a cooks haven (chefs range with convection oven, waffle maker, crock pot and every utensil or spice you may need). A dIning room that easily accommodated our party 8 (and had room for a few more if needed). The living room was so charming & comfortable, the reading nook was a delight and a huge hit with both the big and little kids... the living room had something for everyone .. a fireplace, a large flat panel TV, books, DVDs, many board games, an iPOD stereo dock and WIFI. This sensational home is perfect for a large family or in our case two families... The bedrooms are separated into two wings/levels giving each family not only their own private sleeping areas, but their own bathrooms.. The laundry room (pure heaven) for drying little one's wet mittens and socks. There is not a thing we would have changed about the mountain home or a thing we would have added... This is absolutely a "5 star" retreat and we would recommend it to anyone heading to Big Bear. We have been truly spoiled by staying here & plan on returning next year. * thank you to Linda & family for allowing us to stay in their stunning home*

  Wonderful house with everything you could possibly need for a great vacation. We have had three perfect family reunions here and hope to have many more!! The kitchen is fully equipped as are the bathrooms. From the moment you walk in you feel you are at "home" including a fabulous welcome basket which our grandkids get excited about every year. Can't say enough good things about this house - definately a keeper for our annual reunions.

  Its hard to write a review for a place we call home. We have been renting from Linda for the past 3-4 yrs! everytime we do its a new adventure. This time around WE GOT SNOW AND BOY WAS IT AN ADVENTURE.... but it was amaizing!!! The cabin has this feeling of walking into a place where you can defently relax and enjoy the quietness around you. Our kids always look foward to going to the cabin never fells its like they have ants in their pants the day we depart to the cabin. Linda you are AWSOME! You always make our stay feel amaizing! Thank you for always allowing us keep making wonderful family memories! Thank you for a wonderful friendship! Hope to see you soon!

  We have rented from VRBO before, and have had good results.....but this time, it was GREAT! We celebrated a family weekend in Big Bear, as "Dad" returned home safely from overseas and retired from the Marine Corps after 30 years of service! So to celebrate, our family rented this fabulous home for four days! The home is well loved, very well stocked and when you first walk in, you can feel "at home" immediately. The home is very clean, well maintained and everything worked great! Added bonus is the games room, the wireless internet connection and the beautiful gift basket and welcome card....what a personal touch! We went skiing at Snow Valley, had a great time. Short drive to the village of Big Bear, and had fun dining out and shopping. Our highlight....we rented snowshoes from Goldsmith's Boardhouse and they will give you a map, to go up the hills behind the military cabins to the trails. We went off the flat trails to go straight up the mountainside..... HIGHLY recommend to do this! It's a great workout, we were in a foot of powder, and the view of the lake from the top was incredible. Thank you to the Family/owners for helping making a lifetime of memories for us!! We highly recommend this property and we in fact are returning this summer. :)

  This is the second time we chose to stay in this property. Each and every time we LOVE IT!!! The cabin is beautiful and full of warm decorations that make it feel like home. This time we chose to bring friends with us and they were also very pleased with the cabin. When the kids talk about the cabin you would think it is our own, they love it and enjoy playing in and around the property. We were very lucky to have a short winter storm come through while we were up. It is the first time my family and friends were able to play in the snow together. I strongly recommend this cabin!! The owners care not only about the property but also the renters while you are visiting. We will be coming up AGAIN for another wonderful family vacation.

  Where do I start? Linda’s response to my inquiry on FRBO was without hesitation the most sincere. I knew instantly this was the place for our family. Linda addressed all my concerns and questions, to “can my mom watch the kids build a snowman from inside”, to “how stocked is your kitchen” without delay and with such genuine compassion. Everything was perfect! It’s not easy to impress a 13-year-old birthday boy, but Linda did. We were welcomed with birthday decorations and a darling gift basket for my son's 13th birthday. The home was just that…a home, not just a house. Warm, welcoming and elegant – not what I expect in a vacation rental. The kitchen was stocked as well as my own. We felt as though we were at a friend’s home. The beds are very comfortable with cozy flannel sheets. Although there were enough beds for all of us, my daughter choose to sleep in the window seat / bed, and loved it! The kids loved the game room. There is something for everyone in this home away from home. We look forward to staying here again. Linda, Thanks for making our stay and our son’s 13th birthday so memorable! The Ridgeway's

  Linda, Thank you for allowing my family to stay at your cabin to celebrate New Years. The Cabin was in the perfect location with views of the Lake. Snow was covering the ground. The Cabin was clean and huge. The kitchen was well equipt with everything we needed. Thank you for the gift basket, we all loved it. I am going to recommend this cabin to all our friends, and we hopefully can stay there again this summer so we can enjoy the lake. Thanks, Dennis

  My family enjoyed a terrific weekend in Big Bear staying at the "Little Lodge". You could tell that the owners take pride in offering their "home" to visitors. From the moment we contacted the owner, they were responsive, thoughtful, and helpful. The lodge was well taken care of and offered more than enough space for 4 adults and 3 kids (the grandparents came as well). Our family enjoyed sledding within walking distance, playing board games (they have 10+ at the cabin), and relaxing by the fire (easy to use gas fireplace). The kids (8,6,and 3 year old boys) loved playing throughout the house (hide and seek, toys in the closet of one bedroom, and especially the board games. We would recommend this comfortable and affordable home to our friends. Thanks for an enjoyable weekend in the mountains for our family!

  CLEAN ~ upon arrival, each room was immaculate and the carpet and linens were downy fresh! CONVENIENT ~ Big Bear Lake is just steps from the cabin and you sit amongst an adorable neighborhood, perfect family getaway! COZY ~ blankets, pillows and seating are so comfortable, plentiful and welcoming! CHEERFUL ~ you feel the warmth and joy the owner has sprinkled throughout the cabin and you're happily reminded that you are in Big Bear! We personally felt honored to be staying in this cabin. Linda goes out of her way to make you feel welcome before you even open the door! We loved all the labels and never being at a loss at finding anything! We truly enjoyed looking at her family pictures and the history of this memorable mountain cabin! This was a great stay and we would be honored to come back! We had a wonderful time!
