Very Nice Place To Stay!
Very Nice Place To Stay!

This house was very nice for our group of 6 adult and two teenagers. The furnishings and beds were all very comfortable. The kitchen could use some updates but it was totally functional and worked fine. It was nice having washer and dryer for all of us to use during the week. We enjoyed our Christmas there very much. There was a lot of noise whenever someone moved on one of the beds, it sounded to me like there was plastic or something under the mattress. However it just took some getting used to and the beds were very comfortable. Sitting out on the front porch watching the ships come and go in the harbor was quite relaxing. Also had some beautiful sunsets while there. The hot tub was nice at the end of the day as well. I would highly recommend this house to anyone looking for a very nice place to stay. My only suggestion to the owner would be to add some clocks and/or alarm clocks to the house. There were none throughout so was hard to tell what time it was. Also perhaps a nightlight in the bedrooms. As mentioned in previous reviews, this house is very close to almost everything, especially the airport. 5 minutes and we were there. We were very happy with our stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

It was a wonderful stay! We were a party of 12 staying for a total of 5 nights. The property is located in a nice neighborhood where there is enough street parking, limited traffic and little noise. The interior is nicely decorated, clean and spacious. When we arrived, we were all amazed at the amount of space -- a big plus for hosting celebrations (e.g. wedding, reunion...). The pool and hot tub were clean and ideal for a fun time "at home" or relaxing after a day of sightseeing or recovering from initial jet-lag. There were a few things that we needed from the property manager during our stay: light bulbs and air mattress (one of the futons was not in working condition). We also brought to their attention the fact that a few of the jets in the jacuzzi weren't working and that one of the cupboards in the kitchen had damage to its hinge. They were prompt in responding to us; we have no complaints. May future guests have as enjoyable and blessed of an experience as us!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We had the pleasure of staying at the State Street retreat for an entire week for our softball world series. It was PERFECT as we spent most, if not all, of our free time at the house and in the pool. I would highly recommend this house for a large group. It easily sleeps 12 people; the pull out ottomans were a brilliant idea. The only thing we would change about the house: BEDS! We aren't quite sure, but ALL of the beds made a horrible noise when getting up and laying down. It was completely distruptive to the other person trying to sleep.Recommended for: Girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.

Let me just say that this house is every bit as wonderful as the pictures and was even better than I imagined. Lots of space. Very comfortable beds. Kitchen was great. The pool and hot tub were awesome. Beautiful views and close to the expressway. On the day I arrived (before the rest of my family got there) one of the batteries in the smoke alarm went off and was fixed immediately. Since it was the one in my bedroom I was doubly appreciative. And my deposit was returned promptly! All in all I can tell you that I will definitely stay here again. My 3 adult children thought this was by far the best part of our vacation!Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers.

13 of us (2 babies) met for a week from Arizona, Washington, and Oregon for a family vacation. The house was big enough that we were able to get away from each other. The pool was wonderful and the house is situated in between the Zoo, Seaworld, and the beach. We had a wonderful time!Recommended for: Girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, families with young children.

We LOVED our week-long stay at the State Street Retreat! (Caveat: it does appear to be a much older home, like most in this area.) We had 4 young families with a total of 8 kids, all under 8, and we still had plenty of room for the kids to run wild and the adults to relax and stretch out. The crib and high-chair were perfect for the baby, and the kids loved, loved, loved the heated pool (which was a plus because it was sunny but cool all week). The jaccuzi was nice and hot the entire time. The kitchen is spacious and had lots of utensils and pots/pans for cooking in, which we did almost every night. We used the BBQ grill for fish and steaks several times and bought fresh-made pasta from Little Italy one night! Yum... Sitting outside on the front porch with a glass of wine, soaking in the view of downtown San Diego and the bay behind the airport was SO nice... The views from the house are stunning, and the location is perfect -- right near I-5 but still quiet. We were close to everything we wanted to do, including grocery shopping in Hillcrest. Can't wait to come back next year if not sooner!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/1

The house was very easy to find, and clean when we arrived. We enjoyed the space that the house had. The description was accurate and fit all 12 of us. We did have a few problems with the spa and dishwasher breaking, and 3 broken beds, but as soon as we called the property manager, they were able to get someone to repair them. I was disappointed that we had to call management everyday with an issue because it took time out of our vacation to try and get things fixed. Overall the house was very nice and had great amenities for us to use.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Stayed here for nearly three weeks over the Christmas and New Year holiday period and could have stayed until the next Christmas and New Year holiday period !! House is as good as all the photos suggest with such a huge pool for a private residence. Spent most days out but liked to come back late afternoon, go for a swim and then just relax and sit out on the front porch most evenings. We hardly ever went out for dinner because we were so chilled at the house. We got take-out a couple of times from El Indio, the Mexican restaurant a couple of minutes drive away and also used to walk 10 minutes to The Shakespeare, an British pub that served traditional British food like fish and chips. The house is very close to everything. Old Town is less than a five minute drive as is Little Italy and Downtown. Hillcrest and Mission Hills are also a few minutes away for groceries and lots more restaurants.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Our week in San Diego was made even greater with our stay in this home! Well equiped, clean, tastefully decorated and very spacious, everyone in our party of 10 felt at home immediately upon our arrival. The pool and spa were a welcome extra after our long days of sightseeing. Its central location, close to I-5 made it very easy to get around. We highly recommend this home to any potential leasers.Recommended for: Girls getaway, sightseeing, families with teenagers, families with young children, age 55+.
