Our stay at Lions Bay was fantastic. When we arrived at our destination the owner was there to greet us and assisted with the luggage. She gave us a tour of our lodging and described the amenities that Lions Bay and area had to offers. The suite and property were clean and well maintained. The pictures from the advertisement were very accurate. Private and quiet. Relaxing in the hot tube or sit out in the gazebo you can watch the different boats, ferries and wildlife go by. We would definitely recommend this property to others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I rented the suite for a surprise engagement proposal as well as a "girl's getaway" stay for the fiancée-to-be. The location speaks for itself - it is stunning and breathtaking from every angle (even when it is cloudy and raining). The pictures are not a gimmick, the views definitely deliver that "wow" effect. The guests I invited all unanimously agreed that I "found" a hidden gem. The yard is beautifully landscaped with a pond and waterfall. The patio is strategically located for a commanding and endless view of Howe Sound. The centrepiece that unites everything together is the gazebo - it is truly an inspirational place to share a romantic moment for a loved one. The suite itself is spacious and modern. The guests were able to enjoy all the space and socialize. The suite seamlessly provides a feeling of being outdoors while also providing all the technological amenities one needs for entertainment (but seriously, the view will keep you captivated for hours itself). Liz and Jon are incredibly accommodating and helpful - they will go above and beyond the call! They really care about making sure their guests are happy and feel at home. I was very comfortable asking them for help. In a nut shell, this place is too good to pass up and it is bar-none one of a kind.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

I cannot say how perfect this whole experience was. We felt relaxed by the end of the first day! With perfect hosts how can you not love the perfect place to spend a vacation. If you think the pictures are nice wait until you see it in person. I would like to keep Lions Bay a secret for ourselves.....but that would be selfish.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday. The owners are personable and very gracious. The rental is as advertised. The bedrooms have comfortable mattresses with quality linens, the bath and a kitchen are modern with granite / tile and the kitchen has good quality dishes/cutlery/pans etc, all you need if you like to enjoy home cooked meals while away. The colors inside are soft and inviting. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and saw a pod of dolphins jumping and feeding. The sunsets were glorious. It is just minutes to the ferries and about an hour to Whistler. It's a beautiful spot in a nice community, a great value for the fee.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed here on sept 1-3 with my new wife. The hosts where very accommodating as the wedding was ending late. We arrived at about 11pm and they waited for us to arrive and help us with our bags as we where packing for our honeymoon. They even prepared a bottle of wine and a congratulations card for us The place itself is gorgeous, the furniture in the house is top notch, and the kitchen is well stocked, we had everything we needed. The ocean front view is amazing, and one of the bedrooms allows you to wake up to its beauty. The only thing that one should consider when staying here, is the sound of a train that comes by, and some bikers. They are pretty noticeable if you are not used to them. I wouldn't take a star off for that at all, as everything else trumps that. Ultimately the hospitality we were shown was what made the stay enjoyable, really lovely hosts.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

We booked the suite as the end of our three week holiday and were not disappointed. The suite is homely, clean and very well equipped. Liz the owner had thought of everything, what ever you wanted it was there ! My only comment, and certainly not a critisim would be that there are four reclining chairs in lounge, but sofa would be nice. The location is great, easy drive to Whisler, Vancouver, but you feel totally relaxed and the views are amazing. we eat every morning on the deck area, and we were very sorry to leave. We would defiantly recommend.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We really enjoyed our time at the in Lion's Bay. The suite was clean, well stocked and the location was beautiful. Close enough to the city and not too far from the scenic areas. We made it to the city two days (the view's from Grouse Mountain were amazin on the day we were up there) and Whistler was just over an hour to the north. The owner's were very accomodating and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this rental to small families and couples looking for a nice getaway.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My husband, myself and our 2 year old son spent 3 weeks at this property and we enjoyed every minute of it! Jon and Liz are such accomodating hosts, we couldn't be more grateful! Liz greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around, even helped us with our bags from our car! We felt relaxed and right at home as we started our vacation. The suite has everything you could want or need - fresh linens on the beds, enough towels, a great washer/dryer, complete set of dishes/silverware/cups, bakeware, cookware etc. The space was perfect for our family, and throughout our stay we had another adult come visit as well and we all had enough room to get around. Enjoying the views from the balcony, the living room and the second bedroom was one of our favorite things to do. Sitting in the hot tub after a long day and looking out onto Lion's Bay was unbeatable as well. While Jon and Liz were never intrusive, we always knew they were just upstairs if we needed anything (Directions to a restaurant, recommendations on where to take our son for the day), and very quickly into our visit we felt like we were staying with friends. We've already recommended this listing to several of our friends, and we truly believe if you choose to stay here you will NOT be dissapointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

Bowen Island View on map
Experience the BC coastline in 90 minutes. Park your car in Horseshoe Bay and walk on the ferry ($10) for a 20 minute journey to beautiful Bowen Island (it's the second island on the left from your deck) Disembark in Snug Cove and take a hike around the harbour, stop in at a souvenir shop and stop for a drink or dinner at one of the great pub restaurants. This is a highly recommended half day trip http://www.bowen-island-bc.com/
