Our stay at Lions Bay was fantastic. When we arrived at our destination the owner was there to greet us and assisted with the luggage. She gave us a tour of our lodging and described the amenities that Lions Bay and area had to offers. The suite and property were clean and well maintained. The pictures from the advertisement were very accurate. Private and quiet. Relaxing in the hot tube or sit out in the gazebo you can watch the different boats, ferries and wildlife go by. We would definitely recommend this property to others.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I rented the suite for a surprise engagement proposal as well as a "girl's getaway" stay for the fiancée-to-be. The location speaks for itself - it is stunning and breathtaking from every angle (even when it is cloudy and raining). The pictures are not a gimmick, the views definitely deliver that "wow" effect. The guests I invited all unanimously agreed that I "found" a hidden gem. The yard is beautifully landscaped with a pond and waterfall. The patio is strategically located for a commanding and endless view of Howe Sound. The centrepiece that unites everything together is the gazebo - it is truly an inspirational place to share a romantic moment for a loved one. The suite itself is spacious and modern. The guests were able to enjoy all the space and socialize. The suite seamlessly provides a feeling of being outdoors while also providing all the technological amenities one needs for entertainment (but seriously, the view will keep you captivated for hours itself). Liz and Jon are incredibly accommodating and helpful - they will go above and beyond the call! They really care about making sure their guests are happy and feel at home. I was very comfortable asking them for help. In a nut shell, this place is too good to pass up and it is bar-none one of a kind.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

I cannot say how perfect this whole experience was. We felt relaxed by the end of the first day! With perfect hosts how can you not love the perfect place to spend a vacation. If you think the pictures are nice wait until you see it in person. I would like to keep Lions Bay a secret for ourselves.....but that would be selfish.Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed from Wednesday to Sunday. The owners are personable and very gracious. The rental is as advertised. The bedrooms have comfortable mattresses with quality linens, the bath and a kitchen are modern with granite / tile and the kitchen has good quality dishes/cutlery/pans etc, all you need if you like to enjoy home cooked meals while away. The colors inside are soft and inviting. We enjoyed sitting on the deck in the morning and saw a pod of dolphins jumping and feeding. The sunsets were glorious. It is just minutes to the ferries and about an hour to Whistler. It's a beautiful spot in a nice community, a great value for the fee.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Stayed here on sept 1-3 with my new wife. The hosts where very accommodating as the wedding was ending late. We arrived at about 11pm and they waited for us to arrive and help us with our bags as we where packing for our honeymoon. They even prepared a bottle of wine and a congratulations card for us The place itself is gorgeous, the furniture in the house is top notch, and the kitchen is well stocked, we had everything we needed. The ocean front view is amazing, and one of the bedrooms allows you to wake up to its beauty. The only thing that one should consider when staying here, is the sound of a train that comes by, and some bikers. They are pretty noticeable if you are not used to them. I wouldn't take a star off for that at all, as everything else trumps that. Ultimately the hospitality we were shown was what made the stay enjoyable, really lovely hosts.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

We booked the suite as the end of our three week holiday and were not disappointed. The suite is homely, clean and very well equipped. Liz the owner had thought of everything, what ever you wanted it was there ! My only comment, and certainly not a critisim would be that there are four reclining chairs in lounge, but sofa would be nice. The location is great, easy drive to Whisler, Vancouver, but you feel totally relaxed and the views are amazing. we eat every morning on the deck area, and we were very sorry to leave. We would defiantly recommend.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

We really enjoyed our time at the in Lion's Bay. The suite was clean, well stocked and the location was beautiful. Close enough to the city and not too far from the scenic areas. We made it to the city two days (the view's from Grouse Mountain were amazin on the day we were up there) and Whistler was just over an hour to the north. The owner's were very accomodating and made sure we had everything we needed. I would highly recommend this rental to small families and couples looking for a nice getaway.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband, myself and our 2 year old son spent 3 weeks at this property and we enjoyed every minute of it! Jon and Liz are such accomodating hosts, we couldn't be more grateful! Liz greeted us upon our arrival and showed us around, even helped us with our bags from our car! We felt relaxed and right at home as we started our vacation. The suite has everything you could want or need - fresh linens on the beds, enough towels, a great washer/dryer, complete set of dishes/silverware/cups, bakeware, cookware etc. The space was perfect for our family, and throughout our stay we had another adult come visit as well and we all had enough room to get around. Enjoying the views from the balcony, the living room and the second bedroom was one of our favorite things to do. Sitting in the hot tub after a long day and looking out onto Lion's Bay was unbeatable as well. While Jon and Liz were never intrusive, we always knew they were just upstairs if we needed anything (Directions to a restaurant, recommendations on where to take our son for the day), and very quickly into our visit we felt like we were staying with friends. We've already recommended this listing to several of our friends, and we truly believe if you choose to stay here you will NOT be dissapointed!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

If you are looking for the perfect place to stay in the Vancouver area, this just may be it. Our family, including our 18 year old son and 20 year old daughter spent a week in this beautiful condo and could not have asked for anything more, especially for the price. Jon and Liz were very gracious guests and made us feel right at home. We drove up to Whistler for two days (about 60-90 minute drive), into Stanley Park and did Whale Watching (through Vancouver Whale Watching Tours - which was awesome. We had an awesome time and would not only highly recommend it, but would stay again if we are ever in the area.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The pictures only speak half of the story. It is really nice suite with specticular view of the ocean bay and it is quite, clean and private. The other half of the story is that the hosts are very nice couple and provide many help when we stayed there. It was a real pleasure to stay there.Recommended for: Families with young children, romantic getaway.

Once we had decided on the Vancouver area for a vacation destination, I began my search for the "perfect" accomodations. I explored vacation rentals in the city of Vancouver and in the surrounding outskirts; however, I knew that my search was over (a search that took me several weeks) when I found this property. The photos promised a reprieve from the hurried existence that most of us experience on a daily basis. They did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, our hosts, Jon and Liz, made us welcome and feel at home. After a brief overview of the apartment, we were left to enjoy our vacation with the knowledge that they were only steps or a phone call away. The attention to detail was beyond anything we have experienced with past vacation home rentals. Numerous travel brochures were available for local attractions, along with a binder of information on grocery stores, ferry schedules, local eateries, etc. The kitchen was extremely well stocked with cookware, glassware, dishes, bowls and silverware. Many starter supplies were also available, i.e., laundry soap, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner and soap. The photos accurately depict the apartment. We were a party of three and had more than enough space to thoroughly enjoy our time there. The big hits of the stay? The 100 inch screen projector television with theatre seating and, for all of us, THE VIEW. It was breathtaking. A.M. coffee was always on the deck, so we could enjoy the view, as were breakfast and dinner. Since returning home, whenever life starts to get a little stressful, we can return in our minds to that place on Lions Bay that proved to be food for our soul. Thank you, Jon and Liz, for allowing us to share in your piece of paradise.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My wife and I stayed here in June and had a wonderful time. The owners are very friendly and accomodating. It is a nice retreat from the hustle and bustle of Vancouver, but just a short 30 minute drive from the city. The view of Lion's Bay is incredible and the drive north to Whistler is filled with exciting things to see. There is quite a steep grade down to the house from the street, but the owners were happy to help us get our luggage down. It is a beatiful house, and reasonably priced compared to Vancouver Hotel rates.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

My husband and I and our two 14 year olds stayed here the first week of June, 2010. The suite and the property are even more beautiful than shown in the pictures. The property is meticulously clean and well maintained by the wonderful owners and hosts, Jon and Liz. No expense has been spared when creating this gorgeous suite - the kitchen is modern, the bbq, furniture and accessories top of the line. The view is breathtaking and can be seen from almost everywhere inside. One bedroom has a walk out to the private deck and so does the dining/living room. Jon and Liz were both very welcoming and hospitable. They thought of everything to make our stay comfortable and memorable, including brochures and a booklet containing pertinent information on the surrounding area and attractions. The suite was the perfect place to call home while we enjoyed sightseeing around Vancouver. The ferries to Vancouver Island are only about 10 mintues away and to the north, Whistler is about an hour, so it was a great location for us. I would highly recommend this property to others. Thank you Jon and Liz for sharing your wonderful suite with us! We would love to stay here again some day!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This place looked too good to be true for the price, so much so that we nearly didn't book it. However after many questions from us and patient replies from jon and liz we went ahead. Very glad we did. The view is perhaps the best I've ever seen and to add you're viewing from a hot tub just makes it unbelievable! Inside is beautifully furnished, and packed not just with essentials but extras that are so thoughtful. Our boys 3 and 1 had a great time and loved the movie screen. Jon and liz were such special hosts. They could not have been more considerate or made us feel more welcome. They even bought a cot and high chair especially to accommodate our youngest. Wish it was nearer and we could visit again. Paul and amy, uk.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
