My precious wife and I had an awesome time enjoying nature walks, peace and serenity. Very close to State Parks and of course the beautiful mountains. Had the opportunity to see lots of wildlife, such as deer, squirrels and various types of birds. Awesome get away place and close to downtown Visialia. Can't wait to return sometime very soon.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My husband and brother-in-law booked the red cabin for my and my sister's birthdays as a surprise getaway. We had a wonderful time! It is a very scenic area, with the national parks nearby. Our week's stay included early morning walks and enjoying the scenery. The owners of the property were very nice and helpful. They were very good about informing us on what to expect and how to prepare before we headed up to the cabin. The cabin was bigger than I expected and was more like a cozy house, very clean when we arrived. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay and the amenities, and gladly recommend it as a vacation destination!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to enjoy the beauty that nature brings. It's calm and relaxing environment allows you to appreciate life, with your family/friends. We started the fire place, drank some hot chocolate, told some stories, and enjoyed each others company both nights. The price was unbeatable, especially because we were a very larger group. Thanks for providing all the essentials, pots, pans, dishes, toiletries, and towels. It was the best experience ever, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our stay was as peaceful as the pictures. We arrived to a very clean cabin with all the blankets and sheets provided. The kitchen was recently re stocked With new mixing bowls and utensils ( that's what the property manager said). The Red cabin is really close to the National Parks and we enjoyed visiting the places suggested by Melinda the property manager. I especially liked the 10AM Ranger Park tour. I hope to be back next yearRecommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

We stayed at the Red Cabin for 3 nights in July of 2012. After reading the reviews we were very excited to stay at a lovely home in a great location allowing us easy access to Sequoia and Kings Canyon. We were 2 families of four. Unfortunately we found the home to be in need of some work. The mattresses on the beds were quite old. The mattresses in the bunk beds were literally rock hard and those in the other bedrooms were quite worn out and uncomfortable. There is a large ant infestation in the wall of the upstairs bathroom and my husband had to dispose of several hundred ants one evening. The downstairs bathroom has no shower head and there was literally a stream coming out making showering difficult. The kitchen needs to be restocked, there were no serving or mixing bowls, limited cooking utensils, and the microwave was iffy at best. Many of the window screens had significant holes in them so the house could not be left open to cool. The house fan in the attic, would begin squeaking loudly after 2-3 hours of use and had to be turned off at night or it kept all of us up, making the house uncomfortably warm at times. On the plus side, it is a great location, close to both parks. We appreciated the games and magazines, the kids played CLUE every night and had a ball. We also appreciated the very nice laundry facilities and the guest cooler and the coffee maker and toaster were very nice. I hope you will put some work into the house to make it worthy of 5 stars again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are happy to hear you enjoyed the location and proximity to the National Parks. Our provided games and magazines are always a family favorite. Thank you for the positive comments on the guest use ice chest, nice laundry room, coffee maker and toaster. Please call me and let me know which window screens had holes I could not find any. I agree that the kitchen could use some mixing bowls and I have restocked the kitchen with new mixing bowls and other utensils. I am sorry the beds were not to your standards; they were purchased 18 months ago and are fairly new. On another note, it is too bad you did not call us and let us know there were problems with the ants and the house fan. We were in contact by email several times and you were given a phone number with every opportunity to call us with any problems. We have a licensed contractor on standby who takes care of all onsite repairs and he could have easily helped. If your families are ever in the area again please give us another try, we enjoyed having you as guests.

Very roomy and nice and quiet. Beautiful area. Easy to get to area National Parks. We ate outside each evening and listened to and watched the area birds. Towels are provided, but no facecloths, so pack a few. It could use a few more mixing bowls other kitchen items.Owner response: I'm happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. I hope you were able to see deer. We have had quite a few guests who saw deer during their stay. We will be adding more needed kitchen items. Thank you for the reminder. Look for us next year; we will be happy to have you.

We stayed at the cabin for 2 nights over Memorial Day Weekend. Pros: * Good location for day outings to King's Canyon / Sequoia parks * Quiet / Peaceful setting * Decent size -- big enough to hold 2 families * Plenty of hot water * Booking was easy Cons: * Amenities were pretty sparse -- even for a cabin. * Cleanliness -- place was really not very clean. * Not enough blankets, towels, cooking utensils, pans/pots, etc. * Backyard grill was mess * Beds not very comfortable * Window blinds are all broken (Sunlight comes in early)Did you find this review helpful? This was a very nice rental for a family reunion, within driving distance to Kings Canyon--a park we'd never visited, that was just a treasure. While the cabin was clean, it seemed that the property owner was confused about our arrival dates, and so we waited while they cleaned up upon our arrival. Unfortunately in the hasty cleanup some ash was dumped in the front yard by the owner, which smoldered over night and burst into flames in the morning... so we had to put out a small outdoor fire our first morning there. Other than that, it was a fairly pleasant stay.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers.
