We stayed at Casa del Sol for one week the house is nice the neihgborhood is very quiet but there are some things you need to know prior renting the house: The house is far away from everything you need to rent a 4X4 to arrive there bring your food and don't expect much for the palmetto hotel we had to clean up the house completely there was dust almost anywhere so I would recommend you to take some zyrtec with you the AC are old and won't cold that much nobody does landscaping to the house and the pool paint is getting old and gives a sensation that's is dirty though is being cleaned constantly... once saying that I must say that the house is nice it will be better if was well mantained but is a decent place we did had a great time we traveled every day to west bay or to other places because the palmetto beach as we imagine. I would recommend this only if you go with family or if you want to disconnect form the world otherwise I would suggest you look for other option.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers.

We spent one week in Palmetto Bay, Roatan. Casa del Sol is a charming house and we would highly recommend it to anyone who wants a peaceful, quiet, relaxing setting. The house is spacious and well thought out. There was a well supplied kitchen and plenty of space to bring an extended family. We enjoyed the fresh mango trees on a daily basis. There were 4 on the property as well as a cashew tree, and a lime tree. The owners live right next door; so any questions we had, we were able to just walk next door and ask. They gave us so many good tips of things to do on the island and terrific places to visit. We rented a car and drove from the East coast to the West. There are amazing small restaurants in Roatan that are inexpensive but so very good! Palmetto Bay is off of a long dirt road through some pretty rough terrain.... so, next time we go, we would recommend a 4X4 rental; but, our little "Chevy" pulled us through. The pool and restaurant on Palmetto Bay is beautiful and serene. We saw a wedding taking place on the beach gazebo.... BEAUTIFUL!!! Definitely, the West Bay is the best beach that we found and only a 30 minute drive. But, there is great shopping in Coxen Hole and a cool fresh fruit jelly tasting at Marble Hill Farms on the East End of Roatan. The owners were awesome and provided excellent hospitality. The photos of the house on this website are 100% accurate. The house is just as pictured... charming and cute. We LOVED our visit to Roatan. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all... this is definitely the place to be!Recommended for: Families with young children, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, age 55+.
