  Location, Location & Location - but that's not all. Aside from easy access to the beach, park, restaurants, nice neighborhood, bike riding, etc, this house has ALL the amenities for a wonderful vacation! Our family of 8 had an amazing time at this place over Memorial Day weekend. Each one of our family got a chance to enjoy what they were specifically interested in; beach vollyball, riding bikes, sitting in the hot tub, off shore fishing, etc + we all got to sit out on the front deck in the evening and watch the sun go down with our favorite beverage in hand and enjoy the outdoor fire. I had high expectations for this house and this vacation - and all of those expectations were exceeded. I will be back - and for a longer vacation next time (my wife has already told me!)

  My family of three had the most wonderful vacation here in November 2012. For a few nights we were joined by another couple and their 3 year old boy. Our little ones would race out of their rooms each morning and put their faces and hands up against the glass patio doors and shout "beach, beach!" They could see the waves from the living room and we could barely get them into the sand fast enough. And the sand is literally steps away across the street from the front door. The house is also a short walk to a small strip of shops and restaurants. There are several delicious Italian restaurants, a French bistro, an eclectic American food bar, a burger shack, and a yogurt shop to name a few. We ate very well and enjoyed not having to cook on vacay. But, the kitchen is well stocked and suited for cooking large meals if that's what you want to do. The garage has everything from umbrellas to sand toys to boogie boards to towels, so you don't need to worry about bringing any of that. Each bedroom is nicely appointed. There are two bathrooms, one large one in the master bedroom with a walk in shower and one hallway bath with a tub/shower combo. The courtyard patio has a large dining table and, of course, a jacuzzi tub. We spent most of our time, however, out on the front porch, which overlooks the beach and has four large, comfy chairs and a fire pit. We used the fire pit every single day and enjoyed making s'mores at night. A note to dog owners: if you get approval to bring your dog, Fido will have a wonderful stay too! La Jolla Shores beach, just across the street, has dog friendly hours. They are 6:00 p.m. - 9:00 a.m. April 1st through Oct 31st, and 4:00 p.m. - 9 a.m.. November 1st through March 31st. Dogs must be leashed at all times. Our pooch loves the sand and had the time of her life! Why I called this review "happy?" Well, that's what my 21 month old daughter said to us on the beach, sand covering her face, biggest smile ever. We couldn't have asked for a better family vacation and we plan to return again soon, hopefully in 2013!

  We (my wife and I ) recently spent four nights at this property, with a 2 yr old and three seniors. the house was exactly as advertised. The house was extremely comfortable with everything you would need for a few days. All appliances and furniture were clearly up market and added to the ambiance of the space. Being across from the beach was great for all of us as it was a 1 minute stroll!! the la jolla shores restuarants were great as we ate at three of them and of course we spent some time in the village taking in all the beautiful scenery. It was very easy to rent the house, everything was professionally handled with no worries at all. We would not only highly recommend the house for someone who is looking to checkout beautiful La Jolla but we are even thinking of returning ourselves.

  This was my 1st time renting a house for a week long vacation and I am so glad I did it. We shared the house with my brother in law and his family, 4 adults and 4 children in total. The house never felt crammed, was well stocked and was in a perfect location as we really didn't need a car for anything. We really like to cook, so we wanted a nice kitchen and were not disappointed. The outdoor BBQ is also of very good quality and we used it often. There is a nice park directly accross the street to play frisbee, volleyball, soccer and just after that is the ocean with a very nice sandy beach. We were there in late June and found the beach to be a bit busy but it wasn't to the point of being stifling. We used wetsuits ("shortees") but most other people were in the water w/o them. Our thinking was that if we were going to spend this kind of money for renting a beach house, we wanted to ensure the kids would be comfortable in the water and the wetsuits really helped. We brought our own boogie boards but the house was already equiped w/ them as well as beach chairs, umbrella, sand toys, etc. I highly recommend a kayaking excursion to the sea caves, walking to downtown from the house and walking to the acquirium at the top of the hill. My favorite spot in the house was sitting on the front deck, wine glass in one hand, book in the other, enjoying the fire pit and people watching. VERY RELAXING. We had a couple of random issues w/ the house including the guest shower stopped working, the dishwasher died and the hot tub died. I truly think these were random issues as the house seemed well maintained overall. The issues were a slight inconvenience but the property manager, Brent, took the issues VERY seriously, had awesome follow through and eventually made everything better by getting everything fixed and giving us some of our money back for our troubles. The house was awesome and I'd stay there again knowing that Brent would take care of us again if we had issues.

  We had a wonderful time with our two daughters, their husbands and our one year old granddaughter. The house was beautiful from the furnishings to the well stocked kitchen and space was not an issue. The front deck facing the ocean was an ideal spot for morning coffee and winding down in the evening with other beverages. Great little eateries were a short walk away, especially Piati, for wonderful Italian food. Brant was very helpful throughout the booking process and our security deposit was promptly returned. We would definitely stay in this house again.

  We had a great time at this beautiful home across the street from the beach. Everyone loved sitting on the deck in the overstuffed, comfy furniture. The fire pit added warmth and ambience. Rooms were lovely, beds were very comfortable. The kitchen was great--very well stocked. Brant was very cordial and helpful. We hope to visit this home again in the near future!

  We just returned from 4 nights at the Shores and had a wonderful visit. We used to live in LJ so knew how special a property was in this location. We were right across a quiet street from the beach and playground, down the hill from Birch Aquarium, and a short walk from the center of the shores. The house itself was extremely comfortable and in great shape, and had everything you could possibly need (including things you don't like 7 TVs!) We would definitely stay here again.

  We had a wonderful stay in this La Jolla Shores home. We arrived to find ourselves in a home beautifully decorated with a wonderful view of the ocean/beach area. There are nice LCD TV’s in every bedroom and a big one in the living room, a spa in the courtyard, a fire pit with chairs on the front porch. Throughout my stay here, my eyes were constantly drawn to the beautiful view of the ocean and all of the activity on the beach. It was really a fun place to stay, and Brant was a helpful property manager. This house has such an excellent location too. In the past, I had lived in San Diego for 9 years and I had always loved the La Jolla Shores area. There is so much to do here, and this vacation house is walking distance to it all: surfing, boogie boarding, scuba diving, kayaking (rental and putting in the ocean), ocean swimming, kids playground, restaurants, small grocery store. We have 3 young children and we spent a lot of time at the beach/playground/picnic area. We had so much to do within walking distance. The water is only about 200 meters from the house (for surfing) and about 300 meters for swimming/boogie boarding and about 400 meters for the playground area. We were happy to see the sand toys, boogie boards, and beach towels in the garage ready to use. The boys had a great time boogie boarding and playing at the playground. Then after we put the kids to bed, we had a great time relaxing in the hot tub. We stayed here with just our family, but this house has 4 bedrooms that are each beautifully decorated each with queen size beds. It would work great for sharing with another family, some couples, or a group of friends as well.

  A great house. We had a wonderful visit over thanksgiving. The deck with the fire pit was a perfect spot for coffee in the morning and listening to the surf at night. The house was perfect. The kitchen had everything you could need. The bedrooms were spacious and beautifully decorated. I couldn't recommend it any higher. We will be back.

  We had a wonderful surf vacation at this property. Your surf check could get no easier...go to front window, look out at La Jolla Shores. Quick access to Blacks and Windansea. Very nice house, as well. We will definitely be coming back here!
