Everything about the cabin was absolutely superb. The neighborhood was quiet and all of the neighbors were friendly. The cabin itself was nicely furnished and very clean. Mary has obviously gone to great lengths to ensure that no detail has been overlooked. You literally need to bring only clothing and food. I really loved the binder. I had done my own research prior to arriving about the activities I wanted to do and the restaurants I wanted to try. Upon arriving and perusing the binder, I would say that Mary had 99% of every place I wanted to go included in it. Her directions are detailed and very accurate. I loved all of the menus to read and it enabled us to find the right type of restaurant we wanted every day. As a first time visitor to Asheville, I was really impressed by the diversity and vibrancy of this city. In the future I will return, and hopefully one of Mary's cabins will be available.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 4/4

My husband has always wanted to own a log cabin home, so this was a perfect start to our family vacation in Asheville! It was a great place to unwind and slow down. The owner has renovated this 1920's cabin to perfection. Everything is new, high quality and very comfortable. There was adequate space for our family of four adults. You'll love the front porch with its rocking chair and swing! It was a wonderful place to relax with a cup of coffee in the morning or experience a summer thunderstorm at night. The owner, Mary, personally greeted us upon our arrival and was even thoughtful enough to include a discount card to the local grocery store (which we loved)for our stay. The cabin was just minutes from downtown and convenient to amenities. One warning: you won't want to leave!! We are already planning our next trip to the Silver Moon.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

The only unfortunate thing is that we are not staying longer. You have thought of almost everything and the cozy, welcoming decor made us feel at home right away. You have done an excellent job at renovating the Silver Moon. We have appreciated your attention to detail and the quality of all of the amenities--from the Kohler sink to the Cuisinart hand appliances to the fluffy towels. You have spared no expense at doing it right! This has certainly exceeded our expectations! And, by the way, it is quite ample for a family of four adults. We will be back.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 2/2

This has been our second stay at one of your cabins and once again we had a great time! The cabin is very clean and child safe, even for our 22 month old. You cannot beat the location...close to everything, downtown, nature center, blue ridge parkway and Black Mountain.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 3/3

Thank you for combining rusticity with modern comforts! Understated, classic decor without one bit of chintzy tackiness. So many beautiful touches to capture the eye: the dancing bears print, window coverings simple and unique, the pine branches on the mantel and porch planter, the quilts and heavenly sheets....etc., etc. Everything that you provided was perfect!Did you find this review helpful? I wanted to take my parents on a weekend getaway, so we stayed at Silver Moon cabin. The cabin was so cozy and clean and only a couple of miles from the Biltmore area. I must admit that I was leery in advance of the twin bed, but the mattress was so comfortable...and the sheets were the thickest, warmest (flannel? chenille? microfiber?) that I've ever slept in. The cabin was very warm, and it even had a remote-controlled gas log fireplace in the living room. Mary had compiled a binder of her favorite restaurants/things to do in Asheville, which was full of information. Also, Mary had emphasized for me to call her any time that I had questions about anything. I won't hesitate to stay at Silver Moon again!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

This cabin is one of the most meticulous vacation rentals I've ever been in. The remodelling is quite well done. Everything is done beautifully. It's charming, comfortable, and immaculate. I had my own vacation rental for 5 years in Northern California, so I know how hard it is to accomplish this. The location is great, close to downtown, the Parkway, Black Mountain. It's definitely 5 stars. If you rent it, you need to understand that it really is a log cabin, so the bedrooms are tiny, but clean and cozy. The bed was very comfortable.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children.
