Silver Creek Retreat is nestled in the Nantahala mountains and 12 miles from the Entrance to the Smokies, Our cabin offers comfort, quietness and fresh mountain spring drinking water. Centrally located in Western North Carolina near Sylva, Dillsboro, Waynesville, Maggie Valley, Bryson City, Cherokee, Franklin and Whittier, there are fun activities and great dining for all tastes and ages. The cabin has central air and heat, a washer that also dries your clothes, A beautiful creek is across the road, A private small waterfall and pond on property, hiking trails are nearby without driving, and a peaceful front porch with hardwood rocking chairs makes our cabin a special place to stay. Fully equipped kitchen has all the dishes and cooking utensils needed should you want to cook at home. Direct TV and a stocked library of DVD movies for those that want to stay home. Information Guide: We have assembled a binder with information about the fun activities, restaurants, places to visit based on our own experiences. This binder also tells you all about the cabin and how everything works. We will meet you at the cabin to make sure the accommodations are what you expected and to answer any questions you might have about the area or our cabin.
Dine in our Dine out: Many of our guests think they have to dine out all the time until they realize they would rather stay home at our cabin for many meals and just relax. The cabin has been our second home for years so it is equipped with everything you need to make as many meals as you like. It does not have a dish washer or garbage disposal as we felt that they did not belong in a rustic in the woods cabin.
Our Pet Policy: Many of our guest like to travel with their pets. We welcome pets but have learned some people over extend that welcome. We have had some trouble with mulitple large dogs that are not controlled by their owner. There are many places in the great out of doors for dogs to get very dirty. After one guest left we were cleaning up the cabin for an entire day because of the dirt, silt, hairs and stuff we could not even identify. We have had to modify our pet policy. If you bring a large dog or dogs, we would prefer that they be kennelled when left alone in the cabin. Small dogs never seems to be a problem as they do not wander off into the woods getting covered with 'who knows what'. If you bring a large dog that you cannot or do not wish to control, & you do not clean up after the mess it makes, we will have to charge you an extra cleaning fee or even damage charges. We have learned from our experience that large out of control dogs can actually cause damage to our nice clean cabin.

At 31,32,17,and 10 years old our family was able to see snow for the first time at the Silver Creek Retreat. We were given a warm welcome with suggestions on places to see, visit, and eat along with a tour of the cabin and surrounding things to do like the private hiking trail. Our family really did enjoy the stay in the cabin and the location is perfectly located centrally between several towns. We hope to visit again next year but for now will hold onto the wonderful memories we made at the cabin this year. We fell in love with this place...The moment you walk in, you feel at home..We took our pug Maggie and our cat Trouble..They we're welcomed by the Silver's. It was so convenient to everything and was such a great place to go home to. We loved the shops in Dillsboro and Cherokee, went to the farmers market in Asheville. And ate at alot of good restaurants, although the kitchen in the cabin had all you needed. The listing perfectly matched the accomodations - nice, quiet, cozy, quaint cabin in a secluded. The property offered a clean, well-maintained decor that automatically invited a warm, inviting, and relaxing atmosphere. The owner went the extra step of creating a complete guide of the area's eating establishments, fun places to go and enjoy, by offering a Star rating system. The cabin felt so much like my own home I forgot I rented it. It was great being able to take the dogs on vacation. I highly reccomend this cabin for anyone who wants to visit North Carolina. LR was so nice and helpful, and very easy going especially with me being lost for an hour. I can't wait to go back. It's a small place and only 1 story, but it suited us perfectly. The owner was very nice and answered all our questions. The grill had no charcoal, but it wasn't a big deal. Everything was clean and as stated on the property listing. If you don't like the outdoors I would not recommend the cabin, but if you do, there are tons on great hiking places within 15-60 minutes of the cabin. I would recommend this cabin to others, and the owner gave us a great discount.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, pet owners, sightseeing.

Cozy cabin tucked in the mountains is a great place to relax and enjoy nature. Everything you need is provided...just bring yourself. Friendly locals, great "main street" shopping in nearby towns and lots of activities and recreational pursuits. A beautiful area!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, sightseeing.

My 2 kids ( 11 & 13), my 2 dogs and I spent a week here during July. It was wonderful. The owners were so kind. We loved it and can't wait to come back for another visit. It felt like we were really able to get away from the hustle and bustle and tourist traps. One good benefit -- my 13 year old did not have cell service so for the first time in a long time, I was able to spend time with her without her texting.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing.
