  Little Thatch was a wonderful honeymoon destination. The pictures don't do the island justice, and we were more than happy spending several days just relaxing on the beach, swimming, snorkeling, and enjoying the cottage and island. The kitchen and bar were very well stocked, and cooking for ourselves was just as easy as back home. Jon and Katy were incredibly helpful in recommending and organizing off-island activities when we wanted to venture out—they seem to know almost everyone in the area—and the staff was very hospitable and made sure we had no problems getting where we needed to go. Neither of us had been to the BVIs before, and we found it very easy to just go with Jon and Katy's recommendations and trust them to take care of the details; they did not disappoint. They arranged massages at the cottage, a day sail to Virgin Gorda (we ended up getting the whole boat to ourselves, in part because of our connection to Jon and Katy), and dinner at the Sugar Mill on Tortola's north shore; all were fantastic experiences. I would highly recommend Little Thatch to anyone who wants to get away from the rest of the world for a while. It was the perfect mix of seclusion without too much isolation: we had as much privacy as we wanted, but Jon and Katy and their kids were delightful to spend time with when we wanted some company and Tortola is just a few minutes by boat (though you wouldn't know it from the cottage). All in all, it was exactly what we were looking for. Everything far exceeded our expectations, and I couldn't be happier with the whole experience.

  Little Thatch is the perfect place to escape and relax. We travelled all the way from Australia and had such an amazing stay, we would do it again tomorrow. Seagrape cottage is a unique experience from the moment you step ashore, everything becomes easy. Our hosts, Jon & Katy ensured the kitchen was always stocked with delicious, high quality produce and the wine fridge was never dry. We spent days relaxing on the white sand of the private beach, sailing, kayaking and snorkelling in between eating fantastic food and sampling the local rum produce and imported french wines! The only reason to leave the island was a boat trip to Jost Van Dyke for dinner and the sad day we headed home. We will be dreaming of Little Thatch until we next return. Unlike anywhere else in the BVI, this is the place to relax and forget about the outside world.

  I half expected to find a little note by the phone asserting that Heaven was a local call. I would have believed it without hesitation. I knew that Jon and Katie walked on water (figuratively and literally) but they outdid anything I could have dreamed of. Imagine Radar O'Reilly (from MASH) but friendly, sociable, and simply great fun to be around and you get a glimpse of what they are like as owners. I sat on the deck one afternoon watching pelicans dive into the water to catch their dinner. Finally one of the birds flew over and sat down next to me. From the expression on his face I was certain that he was thinking "how dumb are these humans - I show him how to catch great fresh fish and he just sits there typing away on his laptop... does he expect to find tranquility and culinary excellence in a MacBook" Quite seriously, my wife and I needed some serious relaxation and we found it - amongst great tropical beauty and hosted by two wonderful people. We are indeed looking forward to going back soon. As the television commercial so eloquently puts it "no reason to go anywhere else"

  My wife and i just returned from 4 nights at Little Thatch, BVI. We were picked up by the caretaker, Jon, in the RIB (rigid inflatable boat) and wisked to Little Thatch. This is a 5 minute ride from Tortola. The pictures on the site do not do justice to the fully stocked refrigerators, nice kitchen, beautiful bathroom and wonderful forethought by the caretakers. Nice soaps, soft thick towels, all cooking needs like sugar, flour, seasonings, etc. We had sent a list ahead of time for the groceries and everything was fully stocked. The first night, we found fresh steaks waiting to be tossed onto the grill and a wonderful pasta salad waiting for us. The cooking was under the porch on a commercial grade gas grill and also had a glass doored outdoor fridge, also fully stocked. No boats docked in our little cove. It was warm and humid on the island, but much nicer under the palm trees and the best place was on the double hammock under the palm trees! The quiet AC kept us cool and dry when we wanted My wife loved the daily maid service (Monica) who did the dishes and swept the cottage like new every day. Monica also did our laundry when needed. The Owner has a large house on the top of the island and was going to arrive the day after we left, so there was a bit of bustle going on like mowing, raking the sand, planting new flowers and such, but we were not disturbed by it. We had first rate snorkeling gear for use at the cottage which we made ample use of. The hot tub is clean and nice. The stereo speakers could be switched outdoors for the Jimmy Bufftet CD. We brought some DVD's and watched a few movies. There is also Wi-Fi but we didn't bring our laptop. There is a safe just in case. We were on our 20th Anniversary so we really wanted to spend time alone and this was perfect. We did plan on going to tortola for evening meals but only did once as we had everything we needed on the island. we did meet some wonderful people who own an upscale beachwear shop in West end Tortola, Latitude 18, who were immensely helpful letting us use their phones as our "pay as you go" phones no workie! They also noticed when the ferry from St. Maarten, USVI was going to the wrong port on Tortola! We had a great time and felt very pampered by the staff and caretakers at Little Thatch, BVI
