Casa Vista Alegre sits majestically on "Gringo" Hill overlooking the quaint town plaza of Sayulita. When this Non-Smoking house was renovated in 2003, deliberate care was taken to maintain the history and special feeling of the "old style." Known to most as "the house with many doors," Casa Vista Alegre is a home of brick, large timbers, and eight sets of stunning wooden double doors.

The hand-crafted doors open onto an expansive wrap-around veranda, which overlooks the village, the beautiful bay of Sayulita, and the endless Pacific Ocean. Watching the surfers work their magic from your own private patio is a bonus!

The main floor of the home consists of Suite Principal and Suite el Medio. Suite Principal has a private entrance, private balcony/patio, private kitchenette, and luxurious king-size bed.(see photo) Enjoy the view of the crashing surf as you shower in the private bath.

Suite el Medio has a queen-size bed, with an adjoining private bath complete with HUGE tub and dual showerheads. The bedroom offers a private entrance from the veranda, although it can also be accessed from the main living area. The 500 square foot living room, with full kitchen, provides a spacious and relaxing gathering area. (see photo of this room).

Suite Abajo is accessed right inside the property gate, just a few steps up from a quiet residential street. An air conditioned suite with private bath, kitchenette, tiled floors, beds for four plus a queen size sofa sleeper, gives this room both quantity AND quality!

Casa Vista Alegre is perfect for large groups who want to be together, but also want to maintain some privacy. Although just 3 blocks from the beach, two swimming pools provide the utmost enjoyment on the hot and sunny Mexican days as an alternative to the ocean.

Complete with a large architecturally designed infinity swimming pool with expansive pool deck this amazing tiled pool has built-in lounge chairs and perimeter seating. If you prefer a smaller pool with a bit of shade, there is a beautiful "plunge" pool a level up, right off the main floor kitchen and living room.

Beautiful hand painted Mexican tile accents the main kitchen and bath, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The large living area, including full kitchen and veranda, affords plenty of space for families and extra sleeping room if needed.

At Casa Vista Alegre the possibilities for family, fun, adventure, romance, and relaxation are endless!

Beautiful home in Sayulita

My entire family of 8 plus our 8 month old grand-daughter stayed here for five nights in mid January 2012. The home was incredible! Every morning you wake up and sit on the deck and watch the waves coming in on the ocean. The property was exactly how the photos reflected it to be. The view is spectacular! Just a short walk down to the plaza each morning for coffee and breakfast at Choco Banana. What a great place! The breakfast there is delicious! We were met by the property manager when we arrived and he was extremely helpful and friendly. When I booked this property, LeAnne, the owner was so helpful with information such as locations for money exchange, needs for our grand-daughter and general information for activities. She was wonderful! We went on a boat ride to watch whales and go snorkeling. It was a fantastic day! I would definitely recommend this home and location to families. Sayulita is a quaint little village with many friendly people and great food! We would definitely visit again! Thanks for all your help LeAnne! We had a great time.

Owner response:Teresa, Thank you for your very kind words and lovely recommendation of our Sayulita home. I am SO happy that you and your family had such a wonderful vacation! You are welcome back anytime! LeAnne

We just returned from our Spring Break trip to your villa is Sayulita. We had such a fabulous time! I am counting the days until we can come back and stay another time. First, we LOVED your villa! It was perfect for our needs! The location was amazing - just a short walk to town, but the setting made you feel like you were not in the middle of things. Lots of lush landscaping, and the pools were perfect. We loved sitting by the larger pool and looking out over the ocean in the distance. It was a stunning view. The layout of the villa worked perfectly. We put the teenage boys in the lower apartment. They could sleep as late as they wanted and we didn't have to see their mess!! We enjoyed the satellite TV for watching the NCAA basketball tournament. The kitchen had all that we needed - we would make breakfast and lunch at home and then head to town to the wonderful restaurants for dinner! Your staff was wonderful, too. Everything was spotless and anything we needed was provided immediately! One day I asked where to get good chips, salsa and guacamole. When we got home later that day, there was a huge bowl of fresh salsa (the best we ever had) and homemade guac and two bags of chips! What service! Second - We LOVED Sayulita! What a charming town! We had amazing meals, and did so many nearby activities. Golf, zip lines, snorkeling, and best of all was the surfing trip with your friend Javier!! We all took lessons and had a blast. They took us to a private beach where it was easy to learn. Once the guys had it mastered, they could just rent boards every day and surf at the beach in town. It was a perfect trip for adults and teenagers combined! We are already talking about next year! Wendy

Hi LeAnne, We had a great 7 nights at your home. This was the best trip of the three that we have done and your house and staff played a big part in that role. We want to book your house next spring break as well though I am not sure what week our schools have off next year. We will schedule/reserve soon. Best regards, Barry

Hi LeAnne: Just had to write to tell you that we just had a wonderful week at your lovely home in Sayulita. It was just the perfect family vacation spot. What a great property you have. We thoroughly enjoyed the view, the town, the beach.....everything. Nestor was wonderful, very helpful and my kids loved Chris. Your housekeeper is very sweet. Our spanish is rather limited (we do french in our school system in Canada) but we managed to talk a bit! They all just love you. It turned out that the people that I had heard about Sayulita from (a friend works for one of them in Ottawa) were just down the road from you! We walked all over the town so found all sorts of interesting things. There is lots of building going on, lots of huge place being built on that other hill but we thought you really had the lovliest spot (it was a killer walking up that other hill!!!) Everyone is curious how you found Sayulita and how long you have been there etc, etc. Anyway, thanks again LeAnne. I would love to do it again next year but you never know when your kids are this age, do you? They love the idea but who knows where they will be. How lucky you are to have that place, thanks again for sharing! Katherine

Hi LeAnne, It's hard to believe I've been back from Sayulita for almost a week, but I just wanted to thank you again for allowing my friends and me to enjoy Casa Vista Alegre during our stay. The house was as gorgeous as I'd remembered, and Nestor and the entire staff were wonderful. The weather was perfect, the massages were great, and we enjoyed a lot of time on the deck and by the pools. We did even see whales one morning, which was amazing. In all, it was a very therapeutic and relaxing few days for us, though of course we wished we could have stayed longer. It was my best trip to Sayulita yet, and a lot of it had to do with the fantastic accommodations. We will be back for sure and would love to stay at the house again if it works out - thanks again! Beth

Dear Leanne, I just want to thank you for sharing your casa in Sayulita. Everybody had a great experience not only in your surroundings but most definitely in the town. My daughters and I had a chat about Casa Vista Alegre, and then later shared the same conversation with my Australian brother. We all think you have the best place in Sayulita, with the layout and relaxed feel of your land and house, its proximity to the action in town, and of course the commanding views. My daughter Lucy and I also thought your photos underrepresent the true magnificence that is Casa Vista Alegre. And your employees! They are simply so likeable, Chris, Nestor, even the poolman Luis, I didn't really get to chat with the housecleaner. The people of Nayarit are a gift, they're sweet, enterprising( that churro stand by the bridge in the evening, the chicken lady at the bottom of the gringo hill steps, the incredible art of the Huichol Indians), and it was almost embarrassing how good many were at speaking english. We used Pablo's for the truly adventurous snorkeling whalewatching trip , why a whale leaped out of the water right next to the boat! and we all roared with excitement. The women went horseback riding, the men seakayaked and body surfed, guess we chickened out on surfing. Dining was so seemingly infinite. We didn't eat at the same place twice. Your villa was also perfect for home meals, barbecued fresh ahi and shrimp one day, a big tamale night, courtesy of the tamale lady, another day. The kitchen was just sort of fun to work in, what with all the doors to open to the outdoors, and the joy in hanging out on your property. So thank you thank you and we'll be back in Nayarit Scott, Mary, Lucy, Annie, Bruce, Louise, Caitlin, Lucas, and Philip

Hi, LeAnne! Just wanted to tell you what a GREAT time we had at your house,it was wonderful. I love that the place is so nice, but not fancyschmancy....just COMFY. We spent mucho time lounging in your pool, theweather was perfect! The laid-back feel of the town was just ourspeed...plenty of places to go out, but very mellow. We ate at theChocobanana, Leysa's our first night (the bill was $30 for SEVEN of us!),Pablo's on the beach (awesome view and seafood) and another place thatoverlooked the town plaza. And of course we got a birthday cake, yum! Nestor was so helpful and sweet....I think we all had a little crush onhim! He checked on us at least once every day and made sure to arrangewhatever we needed. He brought in a cook for a few meals who happened to bea Kansas City native, which is where we all grew up! Funny. A couple ladiescame from the spa one day and gave massages on the patio thanks to Nestor'sarrangements. And all of our transportation was right on time. He wasgreat! Telvinia did a great job...we hardly ever saw her with all our poollounging, but our beds were always magically made. Luis was very nice andfriendly too, he was keeping the pool looking pretty. You've got a great crew working for you, but what really sold me onSayulita was all the great information and tips YOU provided. Yourdescriptions of the house, the town and the great people really got usexcited and we knew we had the inside scoop with all your helpful hints. Thanks so much for your willingness to answer all of our questions and thengo beyond that. You helped a group of friends spread all over the U.S.(Alaska, NYC, Florida, California, Denver, Kansas City, St. Louis)reconnect at a wonderful destination....we truly had an awesome time. I would recommend the town and your house to anyone! Here's a group pictureof us (I'm the one on the right with curly blonde hair). Thanks so much, LeAnne!Monica
