My husband and I and our two dogs couldn't say enough wonderful things about the Krings Vacation home. They were super accommodating (we reserved the home less than 24 hours in advanced) and very responsive via email. Our GPS failed us on our way to the cabin and we arrived after dark and had a lot of trouble finding the place, but we were able to call the owners and they were able to direct us there in no time and stayed on the phone till we arrived. [In general, the home is not difficult to find at all but in snowy and dark conditions for two city people generally dependent on their GPS, it was when our GPS led us astray] Although our stay was short it was wonderful. They have a great kitchen with everything you would need and we stayed in the entire weekend and cooked all our meals there. The home is about 25 minutes away from Eagle River where we stopped at Trigs to stock up on groceries. We had hoped to snow shoe or cross country ski while we were there but there wasn't enough snow, however we had a great time playing out on the frozen lake with our dogs, playing foosball, and reading by the fire or in the four season porch. Also, the people who live nearby are also super friendly, as we got invited to a local gathering out on the ice. And you simply can not beat the views of the lake from the windows of the four season porch! We can't wait to come and stay again with our dogs!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, girls getaway.

This is the second time I have rented this property for a winter trip with some friends. The accommodations are fantastic for fishing and snowmobiling. The large porch on the back is ideal for all the gear and the home is clean and very comfortable. The owners have been very easy to correspond with too. I'll be back next year.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This home has unbelievable views of the lake, the fishing is good, and it holds plenty of sleeping room. This home has a large family room with plenty of room for a family to crash and watch a movie on a rainy day. You definitely get the campy feel most are looking for. We saw numerous eagles flying and even landing in our treetop directly above us...every single day. At times you could hear the loons and at one point we saw a deer with her baby while on the lake fishing. Pretty unreal. It is quite a drive into town, not 15 minutes. So if you are looking for a quick ride into town, this doesn't provide that. Children must be watched at all times near the small cliff that leads down to the lake, but overall, this house is well maintained, the owners care about your stay, and the views of the lake are unreal. A keeper in my book and recommended.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, pet owners, families with young children, sightseeing.
