Located off of Barton Springs Road, up the road from Palmer Auditorium and Lady Bird Lake, and down the street from the peaceful Shambhala meditation center, the neighborhood itself is enough to win you over. We are a 15 minute walk from bustling South Congress Avenue and a 30 minute walk from the center of Downtown. You are minutes from museums, galleries, the hike and bike trail, great live music venues, plus the bat bridge, Barton Springs Pool, Zilker Park and the Greenbelt. Some of the nearby highlights include: Continental Club, Jo's Coffee, Saxon Pub, Guero's, Magnolia Cafe and the Broken Spoke Dancehall.

This property is exactly what we were looking for. Everything was so clean and decorated with taste! We just felt like we were at home. The property is located near Congress Street and all of the food and entertainment venues of South Austin. It is also only a few minutes away from downtown Austin by car. The house is in a quiet neighbourhood, a great place to escape and relax after a long day of activities. All in all, Stella and Leon were very hospitable hosts and great to deal with. I really enjoyed my stay during SXSW. I loved that I was a little bit away from downtown and all of the craziness. It was a great way for me to walk everyday and get my exercise and took less then 25 mins. The rental was nicely decorated and I felt so safe. The owners made sure to make my stay as comfortable as possible and were so easy to work with. I would recommend anyone looking for a place in Austin to stay here. Perfect oasis in the craziness of SXSW!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My wife and I stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. The people who own it are artists and their home looks like it belongs in Dwell Magazine. Leon, our host, was super friendly and gave us a list if great restaurants and bars to check out during our stay. When we come back to Austin again, we will definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, romantic getaway.

I recently stayed at this property for 5 days and 4 nights and was very happy with my decision to stay here. The rental is extremely clean and spacious with modern decor. The property is located in a relatively quiet location, a great place to escape and relax after a long day of activities. Yet, it is a short distance to great places to eat and not very far from downtown Austin. Leon and Stella were great property owners to deal with. They provided all the amenities that I could ask for and were very good about communicating with me from the time I decided to rent through the end of my stay. They even provide you with great restaurant recommendation which I thoroughly enjoyed. All in all, very hospitable hosts and great to deal with. The inside of the property is very well decorated and has a very modern and spacious feel to it. Overall, I had a very positive experience. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a nice relaxing place to stay in Austin within close proximity to the the city.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

This property is everything the listing describes and more. The photos don't do it justice. Everything was so clean we just felt like we were at home. Leon and Stella have thought of every detail to make your stay wonderful, from a drawer loaded with every herbal tea you could think of, to the well stocked DVD library. The bed was a joy to crawl into at the end of long Austin days. The property is located right in the middle of so many of Austins great food and entertainment venues but you feel like you are almost out in the country. Tranquillity in the heart of chaos. And we definately would reccomend the Bouldin Creek Cafe for a great vegetarian breakfast and Enoteca for pizza both within walking distance. Definately will recomend this to our friends but secretly want to keep it all to ourselves. What a treasure!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Amazing experience. The house is clean, tidy, hip and so comfortable. My partner and I stayed here for a week during the music fest. I loved the location. A great little neighborhood just a short distance to downtown. It was nice to get out of downtown and escape to the quiet of this area. The little porch off of the bedroom was serene and I could escape the hecticness of the festival activities. Nice big t.v., full kitchen with room to actually cook, super comfortable bed, big couches accommodated a guest very nicely. Leon is super helpful and a welcome to Austin. I will definitely return.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

Wow! We spent a week in this rental and had a hard time leaving. The house is clean, airy, and plenty of room for the two of us. Location is ideal, walkable to many great restaurants, parks, and even downtown. We also felt like we had a personal concierge, as Leon would provide us with great places for music, food, and events. I loved getting his messages during our stay, and having him in town was terrific. We have used VRBO before, but the property owner was in another city. Great advantage to having someone in town! We stayed for three nights and loved it. The apartment is 100 times better than any hotel. I have just returned home from my first visit to Austin and am already missing it. A large part of my fantastic stay was these wonderful accomodations which are, if anything, understated in the description. You will feel absolutely at home in this lovely space. It is clean, spacious and tastefully decorated with a sweet back patio to sit and sip your morning coffee and read the paper. It's about a 15 minute walk through a charming and ecclectic neighbourhood to all the action on South Congress (we were fine without a rental car). About the owner: We are two artists, a painter and photographer, who have been living in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood of South Austin for 18 years. Originally transplants from New York City, we came to Austin for the good weather, music and a simpler life.
Why the Owner Chose Bouldin:
This is our third home in the Bouldin Creek neighborhood. Having lived for 15 years in our previous house 3 blocks away, we would pass by this property and wonder about it. The house sits on a rather large piece of property. It is unusual for this neighborhood to have such a large yard. As well it is on a quiet street close to the Boudin creek greenbelt, so we see a lot more wildlife than even a block away. We love our neighborhood; the central location and the eclectic mix of people, homes and businesses.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
It is a large property on a quiet street, with large Live Oak trees with room and sun for a vegetable garden. The house supplies spacious, open interior spaces with plenty of porches to enjoy the outdoors. The location is perfect.
