Luxury, rest, creative space, privacy, peace....hiking, fishing, wooded walks, family memories...we invite you to experience our lakefront home, Rivendell in Branson.
Ideal for family reunions, staff meetings, retreats, luxurious vacations, golf outings, girls getaways, and those who want to hike and fish by day and relax in a hot tub by night...
Our guests have asked to take our mattresses home, "borrow" our original art :-), move in permanently...One tween hugged her mom and said, "I feel like I'm a princess!!"
Golfers rest between rounds near the grill or fireside for a game of chess. Fishermen hike down to the lake to catch trout for lunch. Families walk through the woods and roast marshmallows over the firepit. Sunlovers tan on the deck and then lounge in the hot tub...
No need to worry about thin walls or loud neighbors or traffic noises...or people even knowing where you are! Our address is literally off the map, tucked away within 7 acres, hidden by trees on 3 sides and Lake Taneycomo on the fourth.
Though just 3.5 miles from Hwy 76, 6 miles from Branson Landing and minutes further to all the fun Branson offers, you may never want to leave once you pull into the garage...
Wake-up in your luxurious bedroom to watch the deer in the morning. Warm-up to winter seated fireside by the Lord of the Rings chess set. Take a nature walk with loved ones. Enjoy laughter with family and friends around a grand dining table, over a game of shuffleboard, table bowling, foosball, pinball, or with the Wii.
Watch the sunset with a panoramic lake view on one of the decks. Relax in the 8-10 person hot tub or detox in the 2-person sauna before you say, "good-night."
And end the day with a cup of your favorite coffee and a great book from Rivendell's house library as you sink into one of our fabulous chaises and chairs.
Welcome to our family's B&B (without the 2nd B).
Welcome to a private home hidden in the woods on Lake Taneycomo.
Welcome to a resting space where no one can find you and no one is calling your name.

This house was everything in the listing and much more. I wish we could have stayed longer. Great location, beautiful surroundings. Coffee on the deck each morning was truly special. Loved the fresh beans left for us by the Choles. Such a nice touch. We can hardly wait to go back.Recommended for: Sightseeing, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We would have gotten more rest at Rivendell if we hadn't been having so much fun together! The house lived up to its billing as a great space for family reunions with plenty of room and all the amenities. I guess we can't blame the lakefront haven for us staying up too late playing cards or chatting til the wee hours because it was a near perfect place for our third bi-annual cousin reunion.Owner response: It was a pleasure to host you and your cousins. Vacations are times to do the things you don't get to do at home, so I'm glad you stayed up till the wee hours enjoying each other's company and I hope you got caught up on your sleep at home! Thanks for your FUN review.

Eighteen family members gathered at Rivendell to celebrate their parents' golden anniversary. The beautiful home with its elegant bedrooms was a perfect setting to comfortably fit us all in. We spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the peaceful river or sitting in the rockers all across the spacious front porch. We enjoyed the location back on a small lane at the end of the road. So much wildlife to see, and lots of things to do together. The kitchen and dining area met our needs very well for the meals we ate there. We felt so much peace and contentment. Everyone came from long distances IN, NE, ND to be together, and all have decided we need to do it again soon at Rivendell. For nearby activities, we highly recommend Sight and Sound Theater, Grand Country Buffet and Danna's Barbeque. And we highly recommend staying at Rivendell!Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My best friend and I visited Rivendell for a personal mini-retreat, and we were so glad we chose this place. It was such a blessing! The property was beautiful, serene, very clean and well maintained. We had everything we needed. It is clear that the staff goes out of their way to ensure all their guests needs are met. It was so peaceful, it seemed that all I could do was sleep for the first 24 hours! Special thanks to Marie at Rivendell, who helped coordinate our stay. She was awesome and super informative. This place is just what the doctor ordered!Owner response: Ah, yes, our physician, the Great Physician knows just exactly what each guest needs! Rivendell is the culmination of a dream for a place for restoration and renewal. It is bathed in prayer, and outfitted to lend to that end. Thank you for staying. We are so pleased your Rivendell experience was a blessing!

My extended family and I recently stayed at the Rest Inn Rivendell and it was beyond fantastic! Every last detail was thought out and well executed. The house is beautiful, beyond what the photos can capture. The bed was so comfortable that I wanted to bring it home with me. There is a spectacular view from the deck that overlooks the river and hills which we enjoyed greatly with our morning coffee. We also enjoyed the fireplaces and the game room was perfect for my two teenage boys! All of us got out at one point for either a run on the roads or a long walk on the winding path, both a hit! We really enjoyed visiting with the friendly cows down the lane as well as the dogs that waggled out to be scratched. There is an essence of peace that encompasses this house! The gift basket awaiting us upon our arrival was unexpected and very much appreciated! Everything in the house is top of the line; from the gift basket to the kitchenware, from the shampoo to the linens, from the sauna to the hot tub, and from the inner décor to the amazing views surrounding Rivendell. A+++! There isn’t a better property to rent, and we have stayed in MANY places! Thank you for such a beautiful stay, words cannot describe how wonderful your home is!Owner response: Thank you so much for blessing us with such a review! Rivendell has been bathed with prayer as well as much thought as to how to outfit it to be a blessing to families. It does have such a peaceful atmosphere, perfect for making lifetime memories or to totally recharge and renew. Although you say words can't describe how wonderful the home is, you have done a fabulous job!

We had a group of 18 family members to celebrate my fathers 75th birthday. The house was amazing! It was so comfortable and roomy, and beautifully decorated, The beds are so comfy, and loved the kitchen and large dining room where we all sat together enjoying breakfast every morning and dinner nightly. The front porch, and the back deck was used day and night, just enjoying the beauty surrounding us. We saw so many deer, and on our first dat a baby raccoon was sunning on one of the decks. The artwork in the house was beautiful! My father said he couldn't have asked for a better birthday, spending it with all his children, and grandkids in such a beautiful, peaceful place. Thankyou so much Alica for making his birthday wish so happen and for working with us, you were so thoughtful, and much appreciated. I would highly recommend to everyone.!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

About the owner: Early 2010, our fun-filled family embarked on four months of remodeling to transform this lakeview home into Rivendell! After taking prayer and writing retreats for 17 years, the door opened for us to create a retreat home of our own. Through the miracle of adoption, we are the overjoyed parents of three outrageously creative children. Our eldest is gifted with Asperger's Syndrome, our middle is graced with extroverted compassion, and our youngest is currently seeking to master burping the ABCs... We home school part-time, parent full-time, and laugh a lot to stay sane. Our personal residence is about one hour from Rivendell -- out in the country where you can count the stars. We are the happy guardians of 4 rescued (outside) dogs, 3 odd (outside) cats, 1 rabbit (yes, inside...for the moment), and 9 unusually social chickens. We write. We travel. We invest in the next generation. We welcome you to Rivendell, our Branson retreat home!
Why the Owner Chose Branson:
The rocks, hills, trees, lakes...Branson is filled with natural beauty. Since moving to Missouri from Texas in 1996, we've made frequent trips down to Branson to take the kids to Silver Dollar City as a family or to find a quiet retreat for rest and writing individually. We love the drive and often have taken side roads to simply enjoy the scenery.
Over the years, a dream grew in our heart of creating a home that could be a happy haven for families and a spiritual resting place for pilgrims. Our dreams accelerated in October of 2009 when we found this gorgeous home with a beautiful view, private acreage, and enough room for us to create a place of renewal and rest.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
Reunions, family vacations, staff retreats, personal getaways, a writer's haven...
Groups will enjoy cooking in a beautiful lake view kitchen with 2 ovens. Once dinner is served, all can eat together in a kitchen/dining room that seat 22 comfortably or many more by simply opening the dining room door onto the upper deck.
Families will appreciate two living rooms, a 4-bed bunkroom just inches off the lower family room, loads of interactive games, and enough decks, patios, and yard to give everyone space to roam.
Small groups will delight in several warm rooms ideal for connecting, debriefing, brainstorming, and planning for the future with the only distractions being an occasional eagle and the irresistible sunsets...Our conference-size dining table seats 16 in comfort in a room sure to inspire.
Individuals will relish their private bedrooms, each of which features a relaxing chair/chaise and a desk that will bring out the writer in you! Every room is named, customized, and designed to spoil your body while you rest your mind.
