Welcome to paradise. Our condo has two bedrooms, two recently remodeled bathrooms, a full kitchen and much more. The front bedroom/bath combination has a king size bed , a full bath, a walk-in closet, and sliders to the deck. The garden bedroom has two twin beds and a day bed with a trundle bed. The twins can be pushed together to form a king size bed and we provide the linens for the doing that. The condo is air conditioned and there are a total of six ceiling fans for your comfort. The balcony over looks the bay (sitting on the balcony at dusk and watching the cruise ships leave the island is a favorite past time!) and has six chairs and a table for dining. There is a new flat screen television with a built in DVD player and cable. DSL internet is available at a reasonable rate. In the kitchen you will find a blender, coffee maker, coffee grinder, toaster, microwave, full set of pots and pans, and plenty of plates, glasses and silverware.
Cowpet Bay is twelve miles from the airport and two miles from Red Hook. From Red Hook you can take a ferry to nearby St. Johns for a day of beaching and/or hiking; you can also catch ferries to the British Virgin Islands at Red Hook. Red Hook also has several restaurants, pubs, and shops.
There are two restaurants on the property. Robert's is one of the best restaurants on the island and has a casual upscale vibe with beach views. Ainsley's has brick oven pizzas, paninis, and casual food on a beach deck. You are also just a short walk (about 1/4 mile) from the Ritz Carlton and its restaurants.
On the beach you will find all that you could desire. The white sand beach has beach chairs, palm trees and curious iguanas. The swimming area is large and just to the left of the swimming area is a perfect place for snorkeling off the beach. We have seen foot wide starfish, rays, barracuda and countless colorful fish right at our beach. There are snorkeling, kayak, windsurfing, paddle boats and float rentals at The Beach Hut. In addition the hut can arrange boat trips and para-sailing with pick up on the beach.
There is a lot to do on St Thomas. There a several beaches each with their own character. There is funky Coki beach with very nice aquarium, Magens Bay with the mandatory stop at Udder Delight, and Hull bay on the north side of the island. You will find all jewelry, electronics and art works for sale in Charlotte Amalie, Havensight and Yacht Haven Grande. Your toughest decision will be whether you want to just hang out at the beach by the condo or explore.
