Owner's Profile
Owner Description
Year Purchased: 2009
Villa Cascada de Flores is owned by 2 sisters, Brisa & Lily Diaz-Hanna. It's been their mother's dream to make sure her daughters had a home in a beautiful coastal town in Mexico. After years of searching, we found Chacala. Brisa and Lily are dual citizens (Mexico & US) and the hope is that their children's children get to enjoy this amazing spot on our planet. It is truly unique in its beauty. We hope our guests love it as much as we do.
Why the Owner Chose Chacala
After years of searching both the Carribean side and the Pacific side for a coastal town to call home in Mexico, we crested the hill June 2008 that brings you to Chacala and saw an amazing panorama. We saw a beautiful bay and beach, embraced by hills densely covered in old growth tropical greenery, framed by mango trees & tall coconut trees. We knew it was where we wanted to be.
The Unique Benefits of this Villa
We enjoy knowing our neighbors who consist of locals and internationals. It seems that those internationals who have discovered Chacala, recognize readily its specialness and want to contribute to its preservation. Chacala has a number of beach restaurants to choose from, a great coffee shop called Chacmool; a cultural center where town & cultural events occur regularly; and more recently, a number of resident artists are showing & selling their work.

We are just home from your beautiful house. It was perfect! It was so nice to be able to go up away from the hubbub of the holiday weekend and relax and watch the birds and cook / eat dinner -- we did a lot of reading and loafing around, and spent most of our time in the waves on Chacala's beach! Our son says "the house was insanely good, I loved it, I loved the beds, I loved everything. I watched MeeShee 5 times and it was great!" (he's 6. :) It was great that you had some kid books, movies and toys up there -- and we used your bird book a bunch (we brought binoculars too). Javier (our 'host coordinator') was wonderful -- so caring and friendly, stopping in every few days to check on us and give us tons of advice, and Olivia and Anais (housekeepers) were super friendly, hard workers but always with big smiles, and they cooked us a delicious breakfast (but mostly we ate simple breakfasts and ate lunch out -- next time we will take more advantage of their delicious cooking) -- and even Nacho the gardener was there a few of the days and very friendly, yet did not get in our way of relaxing in the garden. We will surely be recommending your house to our friends and neighbors! I hope we get to go back some day. Thank you so much for helping make our 'spring break' one of the most memorable and relaxing ones we have ever had!

Hola Jill, We will be sad to leave your lovely home tomorrow morning. The house is perfectly located to enjoy all that Chacala offers and yet be very peaceful and quiet. Javier was very available to offer his insights regarding things to do, and gave us a wonderful tour of Chacalilla and allowed us to enjoy that beach for several hours as well. We would like to take both Maria and Nacho back to Chapala with us to work at our home there- they are treasures! You have decorated, furnished and supplied the home better than any previous rental that we have taken with the kids! Thank-you for the opportunity to have our family reunion in your spectacular home, Warmest regards, Scott & Carol , Chapala, Jalisco

Esperamos poder volver pronto. Gracias por todo.

We and our friends felt very fortunate to spend three weeks in this beautiful, big house. Everything was as promised and the local caretakers, Javier and Maria, were extremely helpful in arranging transportation, providing local information, and keeping things in tip-top shape. The villa is a great place for entertaining and we had two birthday parties for friends and our own anniversary party during our stay. Chacala is a special little village in many ways and attracts interesting people from the U.S. and Canada to visit and to stay, sometimes permanently. This was our third time and we hope to return next winter.

What a perfect place to spend Christmas! The villa was perfect, beautiful views, very clean and the open air kitchen was perfect for hanging out and cooking dinner on those hot tropical nights. 6 of us stayed for 9 days, we all agreed it was not long enough! The beach was beautiful, and the small town was extremely safe and everyone we met was very friendly. The whales are in that time of year so we decided to go whale watching one day, it was by far the highlight of the trip for all of us. The whales put on a great a show for us. Maria was very sweet and helpful and we loved having her around, we felt very spoiled with her services. Javier was also full of information, he hooked us up with the whale watching, taxi rides to Sayulita, and even some shrimp and lobster. One of the best trips to Mexico!!

Our Perfect Home in Paradise

Villa Cascadas de Flores in Chacala was our home for 30 days from October 22 2010 through Nov 23rd 2010. It was absolutely perfect! The home is still new and so is in excellent condition. The photos shown here are very accurate, and if anything, the reality is only better. Perfectly situated a short distance up the hillside behind Chacala. Private yet so convenient to everything. Everything in the house isImmaculate and amazingly well tended to. and of course.. from every room and balcony and terrace you have the VIEWS! Other important things for you to know: 1. The Owner: Jill is amazing. We don't know how she manages to be so attentive and responsive. From our initial inquiries to completion of the rental agreements, throughout our stay and even since our return to San Francisco. Prompt responses, kind assistance and support. Just perfect. 2. The Chacala Property Manager. Javier is a wonder. We could not dream of anyone better. He spoiled us throughout our stay. We had our independence, but we never felt all alone. 3. The Onsite Care Taker. Taylor is just a great guy. He happily assisted with all inquiries right away and made sure that we were comfortably situated always. For my wife and I, the 30 days we spent at VIlla Cascada de Flores will always remain some of the most perfect days of our lives. Each of the people referenced above are simply wonderful. The sadness we both felt when our visit to Chacala was over does not have precedence in our lives, and we do travel quite a lot (We are fortunate to travel for over three months each year) We sincerely hope that you book VCdF and see for yourselves why the words written here do not rise to the level of pleasure and satisfaction that the Villa, the People and The Place deserve.

What a fabulous house! We loved our stay in Villa Cascada de Flores. My family and I were there for a week and enjoyed every minute of it. My boys (8 & 4) were entranced with the local wild life; an iguana in a nearby tree, a fox, many birds, and tons of butterflies. My husband and I enjoyed the relaxing atmosphere, getting away from it all, and getting a sense of what Mexico is truly like. The house is full of local art work, spacious, and clean. The design of the house really lends itself to families or groups visiting and we hope to return with friends. The beach was tons of fun too. We had a great time boogie boarding and ridin' the waves. All of the local people were very friendly and the food was great. If you want to try a real treat try the pescado sareandeado at Acacles. Day trips we took included going to Sayulita for surf lessons and to Guayavitos to ride the banana boat. What a find!

we stayed at this property for a week and never got tired of the view each morning. the house was in the perfect location, just close enough to the beach to walk there within 5 minutes, but far enough removed that the mornings and evenings were quiet and peaceful. we would stay here again, and again.

Property is as advertised, the house and everything in it are new. The views are outstanding from every room. The kitchen is well equipped. Being new the house doesnt have that run down rental look to it and everything is top notch. The house was kept clean by a very nice local lady. I would highly recomend this property for relatives or friends to rent.
