Chacala villa description

Welcome to Villa Cascada de Flores, located on the hillside overlooking Chacala Bay. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and your views are spectacular from every room in the Villa! The home was designed by Guadalajara & Sayulita Architect Raul Velazquez and gives amazing panoramic views of the ocean from all rooms and levels. Each room has its own sizeable balcony, each providing breath taking views as well.

It's an easy walk to the beach! Out your front gate, down the driveway, walk a block and you're there in 5 minutes.

The home has 4 levels.
All bedrooms have their own private entrance & the common areas include the main kitchen, garden area, living area, front patio & bar area and the fabulous terrace at the top.
1st: Street level & entrance to Villa & entrance to independent ground floor studio (reserved for owner use).
2nd: Main kitchen area with bar, patio and garden, Dining & Living Areas and 1st Large Bedroom Suite w/ 1Queen bed, 1 sofa bed, private bath and balcony, often times reserved for owner's use.
3rd; 2 Large Bedroom suites, each w/ their own private entrance, bathroom, balcony & sofa bed. One bedroom suite has a King bed and a kitchenette. The other bedroom suite has a Queen bed.
4th: Large terrace area with magnificent views in all directions.

Chacala is 40 minutes drive north of Sayulita. It is the most beautiful settled beach town and area I have been to in Mexico. My family and I have lived and traveled in Mexico since 1978.

I think you will find our home & Chacala easy to love and appreciate! We hope you enjoy it as much as we do.

Five stars are not enough to rate Villa Cascada de Flores. The only trouble we had was wanting to linger in the many delightful areas of the villa. It's like waking up in a forest canopy. Chachalacas fly by like long-tailed wild chickens. Kiskadees, magpie jays, snowy egrets & cinnamon hummingbirds zoom past the balcony from tree to tree. Once we wrested ourselves out, we strolled the dirt roads & pathways down to the ocean. We liked the short climb back up to the villa & felt stronger when we left, sorry to say good-bye. The place is beautiful, clean, light-bathed & artsy. Jill and her pug Bella are ever welcoming, helpful, & delightful. (Yes, even a pug can be helpful.) We loved the town of Chacala, the beach, the collectivo (the community van-taxi that takes you into Las Varas), the people in the town. We were surprised by the high quality & variety of the restaurants. We danced to the salsa band at Chac Mool, ate "love steaks" at BernarDos, had a very special Christmas Eve dinner at Majahua, and overlooked yet more forest, eating breakfast at Casa Pacifico which is a very short walk away. We took yoga classes at Mar de Jade & Chacalilla. We hiked up to the crater of the nearby volcano & put in many sand miles walking the very clean beach. We swam. We read. We visited other towns like La Peñita. The villa's kitchen is open to the guests and completely stocked with supplies that any cook will love. It's the best place in the world to do dishes because the view of the ocean stretches before you. Throughout the villa, you can hear the surf night & day. Our daughter adored the massages in her room. Twelve days was not long enough. (This is a very safe, friendly town. I recommend it to solo travelers. You won't feel a stranger for long!)

The downside to giving this rental five stars is that it could make it more difficult to find an open date in the future. But five stars it is. Jill is wonderful and incredibly helpful. The Villa beautiful, spacious and perfectly laid out. Its location high on a hill at the edge of the jungle makes it very quiet, with beautiful views and great bird watching. We loved it.

In addition to all the wonderful in previous reviews, I wanted to add -Each morning at sunrise I went to the top terrace and saw many tropical birds new to me Each day we went to very swimmable Chacala cove(PS pass a fish open market where you get fish caught that morning in that bay) Each afternoon we took a break from the hot sun on the second floor terrace and did birding from the lounge chair.(her property is surrounded by forest on 3 sides). -The owner sincerely likes to give you the best information to make the best visit. And did I forget to mention, there is a massage table on the property and a woman that can come over and give you a massage in your room ( we got one before bed and rolled into bed and under covers). A great respite at a very affordable price. Without renting a car, the taxi service to town from Puerto Vallarta is a bit pricey- only thing to figure in

My wife and I spent 3 delightful days at Villa Cascada de Flores just after Christmas. This home is beautiful and spacious. We had the master suite on the second floor, which allows for fantastic views of the bay and down onto the small town of Chacala. The outdoor patio upstairs was a perfect setting for a cocktail while we mused and made decisions about where to go and what to do next. Walking into town and the beach was an ambling 5 minutes. The beach is kept very clean and the townspeople are very agradable, friendly. Although we didn't have the opportunity to meet Jill, the owner (she was stateside while we were there), she saw to every detail before we arrived and while we were there. She was very helpful with ideas on things to do to get the most out of our visit. We loved our short stay in Chacala, made even better by staying at this home. Thanks to Jill and to her attentiveness. We definitely recommend her home as the place to stay.

My adult daughter and I were enchanted by the villa and the village of Chacala. We spent only 3 nights and found the experience beyond our expectations. It is a little off the beaten path but part of the appeal. The town is small, quiet, friendly, safe and the beach idyllic. We enjoyed the restaurants , all ocean front, uncrowded, reasonable and delicious. The house is a short walk and on a hill against the lush mountain. The deck takes in a nice view as does the top . The house is furnished with style and comforts abound. We never lacked for anything. Treat yourself to a great value and locale.

We are just home from your beautiful house. It was perfect! It was so nice to be able to go up away from the hubbub of the holiday weekend and relax and watch the birds and cook / eat dinner -- we did a lot of reading and loafing around, and spent most of our time in the waves on Chacala's beach! Our son says "the house was insanely good, I loved it, I loved the beds, I loved everything. I watched MeeShee 5 times and it was great!" (he's 6. :) It was great that you had some kid books, movies and toys up there -- and we used your bird book a bunch (we brought binoculars too). Javier (our 'host coordinator') was wonderful -- so caring and friendly, stopping in every few days to check on us and give us tons of advice, and Olivia and Anais (housekeepers) were super friendly, hard workers but always with big smiles, and they cooked us a delicious breakfast (but mostly we ate simple breakfasts and ate lunch out -- next time we will take more advantage of their delicious cooking) -- and even Nacho the gardener was there a few of the days and very friendly, yet did not get in our way of relaxing in the garden. We will surely be recommending your house to our friends and neighbors! I hope we get to go back some day. Thank you so much for helping make our 'spring break' one of the most memorable and relaxing ones we have ever had!

Hola Jill, We will be sad to leave your lovely home tomorrow morning. The house is perfectly located to enjoy all that Chacala offers and yet be very peaceful and quiet. Javier was very available to offer his insights regarding things to do, and gave us a wonderful tour of Chacalilla and allowed us to enjoy that beach for several hours as well. We would like to take both Maria and Nacho back to Chapala with us to work at our home there- they are treasures! You have decorated, furnished and supplied the home better than any previous rental that we have taken with the kids! Thank-you for the opportunity to have our family reunion in your spectacular home, Warmest regards, Scott & Carol , Chapala, Jalisco

Esperamos poder volver pronto. Gracias por todo.

We and our friends felt very fortunate to spend three weeks in this beautiful, big house. Everything was as promised and the local caretakers, Javier and Maria, were extremely helpful in arranging transportation, providing local information, and keeping things in tip-top shape. The villa is a great place for entertaining and we had two birthday parties for friends and our own anniversary party during our stay. Chacala is a special little village in many ways and attracts interesting people from the U.S. and Canada to visit and to stay, sometimes permanently. This was our third time and we hope to return next winter.

                      Owner info

                      Year Purchased: 2009

About the owner: Villa Cascada de Flores is owned by 2 sisters, Brisa & Lily Diaz-Hanna. It's been their mother's dream to make sure her daughters had a home in a beautiful coastal town in Mexico. After years of searching, we found Chacala. Brisa and Lily are dual citizens (Mexico & US) and the hope is that their children's children get to enjoy this amazing spot on our planet. It is truly unique in its beauty. We hope our guests love it as much as we do.

                      Why the Owner Chose Chacala:
After years of searching both the Carribean side and the Pacific side for a coastal town to call home in Mexico, we crested the hill June 2008 that brings you to Chacala and saw an amazing panorama. We saw a beautiful bay and beach, embraced by hills densely covered in old growth tropical greenery, framed by mango trees & tall coconut trees. We knew it was where we wanted to be.

The Unique Benefits at this Villa:
We enjoy knowing our neighbors who consist of locals and internationals. It seems that those internationals who have discovered Chacala, recognize readily its specialness and want to contribute to its preservation. Chacala has a number of beach restaurants to choose from, a great coffee shop called Chacmool; a cultural center where town & cultural events occur regularly; and more recently, a number of resident artists are showing & selling their work.
