Why the Owner Chose Dominical
We originally chose Dominical as a vacation destination. On the plane from Minneapolis, we began to wonder why people bought property in Costa Rica. Just for fun, we started a list of what we might want in a parcel:
-sunsets
-running water
-ocean and mountain views, and
-about ten acres of land.
We found everything we wanted during the trip--but needed to purchase 110 acres to make it ours! Now we share the mountain with friends who visit and the international community that makes its home here.
The Unique Benefits at this House
This pristine parcel provides a quiet escape. It is a private place to rejuvenate and/or create. The property boasts on and off shore breezes that provide a tranquil cooling throughout the day.
The gardens surrounding the house contain several species of tropical trees and flowers along with the birds and butterflies that inhabit them.
A gardener is retained to do yard maintenance on a weekly basis.
Our water supply originates in a mountain spring and is monitored by community and national systems.

Twenty years ago, we left intense careers in U.S. health care to develop this beautiful property in Lagunas. The transition was dramatic and challenging, but with a pioneer spirit, we made the uphill trek to our original wooden farm house. In those days, we threw a hose in the stream to collect water for drinking, bathing, and cooking. We went to bed with the sun, built new roads to the summit, and survived hurricane Caesar! Many years later, we have upgraded our housing and continue to enjoy the unspoiled spirit of the rain forest.

Wow, we so enjoyed this beautiful hacienda with its superb views of the Pacific Ocean and great pool. We especially loved the privacy, and total ambiance of its gardens, location to the beach, etc. The home was beautifully decorated, and anything needed was at our fingertips. Temperatures there were perfect with a slight breeze all the time, and sleeping was heavenly with the wonderful nocturnal sounds around us!
