In the winter, beginners learn to ski at the Red River ski school while intermediate and advanced skiers will find slopes like Cat Skinner and The Face challenging. Don’t miss Mardi Gras in the mountains during February. Cross country skiers will love gliding through the aspen lined trails of the Enchanted Forest.
In the summer, rent or bring your own 4 wheelers and ride up Wheeler Peak or Cabresto Lake and see the big horn sheep. Visit the deserted mines on the way back down. Guided trout fishing, river rafting, hiking, go karts, horseback riding, and tennis are all nearby.
The Community House is one of the most unique features of Red River, offering square as well as county and western dancing, line dances, games, movies and parties for everyone in the summer.
There is the Art and Wine Festival in June, 4th of July parade, September Aspencade Arts & Crafts, Memorial Day’s biker week, and Oktoberfest to plan your stay around.
The Questa Fish Hatchery and Rio Grande Gorge are must sees, especially for the kids.

About: David and Dana Taylor, Corsicana, TX Red River is our home away from home. Our four children have learned to ski and snowboard here. They still see their instructors and call them by name. Red River is friendly and welcoming and we know many of the shop owners and locals. The art galleries, shops and arcade are fun to browse for old and young alike. In the summer, Red River is a great escape from the Texas heat and in the winter a cup of coffee and a warm fire is hard to beat.
Why Red River:
Red River is only a one day drive from most Texas and Oklahoma locations. My family has been vacationing in Red River since the 1950's and we spent our honeymoon in Red River. It offers the best family skiing experience I know of and there is plenty to do in the summer also.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Valley condos is only .5 mile from the ski basin yet it is quietly secluded away from the noise and bustle of the downtown area. Our condo #122 is next to the end unit a short distance from the playground and hot tubs.
