Wonderful location and cottage was very comfy and our week absolutely called for use of AC. The bikes provided were marvelous. Close to grocery store and other stores yet quiet . Long pond was a great spot to try out the boats and they were fun for fishing. South street is where we enjoyed the ocean and the facilities there were excellent. had the pleasure to meet Judith and she was quick to respond when communicating was necessary . A true gem to go to and kick up your feet and relax.Owner response: We are so pleased to know that Susan and her family found the Cottage so comfortable. Also glad that they put the boats and bikes to good use.

Had a great 4 day long weekend at this lovely place; was perfect in every aspect! We could enjoy the lake at the end of the street (80 steps) to splash around a nd fish and watch the loons. And just a couple miles away we had Seagull beach. Near absolutely everything on Rt28 and would be a great base of operations for a longer stay. My husband gets figgety on vacation, but he raved as well. He especially loved the great details on not only the house, but all the restaurants and attractions in the area. Judith and Doug were great to deal with and thought of everything. We even rode the bikes and I hadn't done that in ages. When my husband tells everyone how terrific the place was, you KNOW its special! The place was perfect us us and my small dog, who enjoyed the fenced in yard. Beds comfy, kitchen was well-appointed, Direct TV,... everything!. And the shower jets were fabulous! Really, not a thing to say but GREAT and THANKS and see you again!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children, people with disabilities.
Owner response: All we can say is Thanks back for letting us serve you. We look forward to your return.

The perfect little cottage on the cape - clean, comfortable and very close to all (shopping, beaches, entertainment & restaurants)! All the amenities you need - just like home. The owner thought of every detail to make our stay a great experience. And, there's a fresh water pond just feet away. Swimming, fishing, boating just right outside your door - can't beat that! Also have to add, everyone is welcome - including your four legged loved ones :-). Will definitely do this again!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

My husband and I spent New Years weekend at this adorable cottage! Judith and Doug really have made their home a perfect place to relax and enjoy our mini-vacation on the Cape. The home was very clean, great bed linens, well stocked kitchen, nice back yard, and the shower was awsome! They even spent the time to put together a huge binder with all sorts of activities you can do on vacation - they really thought of everything! Judith was wonderful to work with and always quick to reply with any questions. She even called to check in to make sure everything was ok when we arrived. I will recommend this cottage to my friends and family who are looking for that perfect place to stay on the Cape.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.
Owner response: Our humble thanks for another outstanding review!

Stayed here over Christmas week 2011. The cottage is well equipped with all the necessities of life if you require them (wi-fi, 32" Screen TV, DVR). Fully equipped kitchen with lots of crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc. Dishwasher, microwave and a new fridge/freezer,. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well maintained, courtesy of the owners family that live on the Cape. There is a wood fireplace that we used every night and a good supply of seasoned logs came with the rental. There are two extremely comfortable beds with very good quality bedding/linens etc. The bathroom has a modern shower with massage jets along with a regular shower head. We booked this property back in August and prior to and during the rental I had frequent contact with owners to confirm certain things. They always got back to me promptly and answered any and all questions. The cottage is located in a nice, quiet neighbourhood but you are only a 1 minute drive from a large Stop and Shop grocery store or a Shaws grocery. Also loads of restaurants within a 5 minute drive or less. You are also mid cape when staying here so you are no more than approximately 30 minutes to Sandwich or Provincetown and the National Seashore. Another great thing was that we were able to bring our small dog with prior consent from the owners. Its a nice area to be able to walk your dog without alot of traffic on the sidestreets etc. On a personal note, Judith, the owner, is well aware that we loved our stay here as we have been in frequent contact with her before and during our stay. She is great to deal with and obviously has a love for the Cape and her property and we are already looking at renting it again in the future. I would not hesitate in recommending this property to someone looking for a getaway to Cape Cod. Pete and Loret and as always, Poppy the pooch!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, pet owners, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Thanks Pete and Loret for letting us know you had such a good time and for letting others know, too!

We spent hours/days researching different properties in Cape Cod and settled on Turtle Cove Cottage, mostly because of the tremendous efforts by Judith to ensure ALL of our questions were answered so we would have no surprises when we arrived. The cottage is BEAUTIFUL, with high-end, 100% cotton bed linens and down/feather comforters My husband remarked that he couldn't believe that so many great things could be packed into this space. We had room for everything. The boys LOVED that Judith got the loft ready for them. Because of the internet access, they could go on their PSP's and the computer. They could also watch TV from bed. The shower is outstanding. Judith supplies just about everything you need for the vacation: bikes, inflatables, etc. The best part was how it was stocked with so much extra. Plenty of dishes, glasses, cups, pots(lobster pot), pans. Plus the spices, condiments, coffee, creamer, wood for the fire, toiletries. It was a pleasure to leave some of our toiletries and condiments/food behind for the next renter. It is a real waste to throw perfectly good things away at the end of a vacation, but with this house you can make sure that someone else can utilize these things. There's that much storage. They have a frequent shopper card for the supermarket so you can save money on food and other essentials. The washer/dryer was great, we didn't need half the clothes we brought. The house is close to everything: shopping;restaurants, fresh-water beach less than 100 ft from the door. The Cape Cod beaches are less than a mile, Hyannis 10 min or less. We did the Barnstable Ghost Tour and one of the boys turned out to be a paranormal magnet. Also for Halloween, Chatham has a pumpkin carving/decorating themed contest with huge displays that takes about 1/2 hour to walk through in the park. Be aware the US Government closes the lighthouse tours earlier than posted online. The people at Truro said the lighthouse had been closed since The beginning of October, but the website says throughout October, so we still haven't seen the inside of a lighthouse yet. Beaches are really beautiful and UNCROWDED this time of year. We intend to go back, maybe a little earlier, so we can enjoy the train, tours and other things that closed up a little as a week before we arrived in late October. VERY DEFINTELY WORTH THE TRIPRecommended for: Adventure seekers, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, age 55+, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: Always pleased to know that our guests had such a good time. Thanks for the great review!

We spent an amazing week at Turtle Cove Cottage (two adults, five children). South Yarmouth is the perfect location on the Cape, being about the half way point, and still not to far from Plymouth and Braintree (parking to take the T into Boston) to enjoy the historical sites. We hiked and spent time at the beaches on the National Seashore, took a whale watch from Provincetown, visited Cape Cod Potato Chips and the JFK museum in Hyannis, visited a couple of local beaches, and took day trips to Plymouth and Boston. All kid friendly and fun! There is salt water taffy just down the street and a grocery store just around the corner from the road the cottage is on. Walgreens is just a couple of minutes further down the road. Turtle Cove Cottage is a comfortable, cozy, wonderfully decorated home. We enjoyed the Direct TV; the kids enjoyed sitting in the loft to watch t.v. They took turns sleeping in the loft at night which was a definite favorite. All of them enjoyed being able to walk a few steps down the street to Long Pond to spend time birding or playing in the sand. We had no problems with cell phone reception. The owners have provided a binder full of ideas of things to do including rainy day activities, activities with kids, recreation, art, etc. There is another binder for restaurants in the area and a folder which gives clues about how to travel the Cape like a local. The kitchen is supplied with everything you might need to cook and enjoy. We had a good time around the fire pit in the back yard. Read the full description of all of the amenities provided! I searched for days for the perfect house the winter before we came and I'm pretty sure I found it! :) If we visit Cape Cod in the future, I will definitely pick Turtle Cove Cottage!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, sightseeing, families with young children.
Owner response: It is so gratifying to get such stunning feed back about how much our guests enjoyed their stay!

This was our first visit to Turtle Cove Cottage, but hopefully will not be our last. We were looking forward to getting a week of rest and relaxation late in the year, and we found it here. It was so comfortable; it was just like being in our own home. We read, listened to music, watched DVD's, enjoyed a number of the excellent nearby restaurants, and walked some beaches. This is our third visit to the Cape in four years, all in the Fall, but this was the latest in the year. The Yarmouth House was our favourite restaurant. Of the three trips, Turtle Cove was our favourite accommodation with everything as outlined in the listing. South Yarmouth is an ideal location on Cape Cod as it is central with excellent stores and restaurants. The Cape is quiet in the Fall but very relaxing and we enjoyed nice weather. We even played mini-golf. And we shopped a lot with lots of choices. There are many lovely locations to visit by car. Thanks to Judith and Doug for providing an ideal environment for a retired couple. We had family members drop by on a couple of occasions during our stay, and they were quite impressed by everything. We think it is ideal for two couples, but there is room for more. Everything was neat and clean and all communications related to our stay in advance and after the visit were prompt and detailed. There were lots of suggestions for places to go and things to do in the detailed "user guide" in the Cottage. Enjoy ... Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Hi, We are Judith and Doug, a retired couple, whose primary home is in Reno, Nevada. Doug is a former English teacher and Judith still works part-time for the local, health department.
Why the Owner Chose South Yarmouth:
We bought the Cottage in 2010 to be close to our son and his family (3 grand-kids) who live nearby and also to have a fun retirement place for ourselves. We fly back to stay at the Cottage and visit about 4 times a year.
The Unique Benefits at this Cottage:
Its casual Cape Cod charm and playful appeal made us fall in love with Turtle Cove Cottage the first time we saw it! Little luxuries like the jetted, jacuzzi shower are an added treat. The location is superb. We just walk out the door and down to the beach for a swim. Or jump in the car and drive a few miles to either Nantucket Sound or Cape Cod Bay beaches. Who could ask for more?
