  This was a return trip to Stone House and we love it. You cannot beat the ocean vista and morning sunrise right from your bed!

  What a perfect place to get away from it all. The house is charming, and there are water views from lots of vantage points, inside and out. We were there for perfect weather, so threw open the windows and doors and enjoyed warm air and a light, cool breeze. I went tech-free for the week, and was very impressed by both local libraries (book junkies beware of the awesome used book sales of both!) - the near one is incredibly close, just past the end of the lane. The general store 3 miles away has a great combination of a friendly, local feel and a cosmopolitan stock (in food and newspapers). Although I can imagine the house and bunkhouse filled with running feet and family noises, being there without kids it was pin-drop quiet. Definitely would go back!

  My family spent a wonderful week at Stone House with our three kids and they each had a friend in tow. The bunk house was perfect for the teenagers to have their own space to watch tv, play ping pong and hang out. The views are incredible... we spent the days sunbathing on the water on inflatable rafts ( we found at the Boothbay bookstore) and watched the lobstermen pick up their daily catch. Boothbay has great little shops and places to eat. We went whale watching and saw porpoise, whales, seals and many types of birds. It was a great way to see the islands. The house is very peaceful...with a lot of privacy. The rocks leading to the water are great for reading, sunbathing and climbing. Newagen Inn had delicious food, less than 1/2 mile away. Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will be back hopefully. Magnificent.

  My family and I stayed at the stone house in August 2010 and fell in love with the house and property! When you pull into the drive and see the house you feel like it just popped out of a fairy tale. It is just beautiful and so charming. The location is just incredible - you could spend all day on the rocks exploring the tidal pools and enjoying the view. My 6 year old granddaughter still talks about the house and wants to live in a “stone house” when she grows up because she loves this house so much. I actually put a picture of it in a frame for her that she keeps in her room. Even though the house only has 2 bedrooms, they are large and there is plenty of sleeping room – especially if you have teenagers (like I do) who can stay in the bunkhouse. What a great bonus that is. Rainy days are so much easier when the kids have a place to go and do their own thing. I highly recommend this property and hope I’m able to take my kids and grandkids there again. Oh, and for those who like a sandy beach, make sure you drive out to Popham Beach in Phippsburg, just outside of Bath - it is just beautiful! And if you like history, you can tour Fort Popham while you're there.

  We rented the Stone House in July and had a wonderful time. The listing description is quite accurate and actually doesn't do the view or location justice. Both were beyond our expectations. My family had an incredible week and we are still talking about our stay. The photos do accurately reflect the home and you will not be disappointed. The property is quite clean and well stocked with essentials. The bunk house is great for families with teenagers or just extra guests. The owner was very friendly and quite helpful both before we arrived as well as during our stay. I would highly recommend this property to family and friends. The property is about a 15 minute ride to downtown Boothbay and is also quite close to other Maine coastal attractions including Damariscotta, Pemiquid Point, New Harbor. Don't miss Robinson's Wharf while you are here ... the lobster was fantastic.
