Come visit Longboat Key and enjoy our vacation condo with direct, unobstructed views of the Gulf of Mexico. Our living area and master bedroom open onto a spacious balcony overlooking the pristine beach and the private heated pool.
You can drive 5 minutes to the famous Saint Armand's circle which is known for its fine dining, upscale shopping, and exciting night life or visit downtown Sarasota to enjoy live theater, a ballet, or one of the numerous art galleries.
Our condo is located across the street from a brand new Publix grocery store, public tennis courts, and a variety of smaller shops. Our location on mid Longboat Key is positioned well to allow easy access to the area attractions, but with a private sandy beach for a backyard.
This 4th floor condo has a full length, glass railed balcony overlooking the sandy beach. Both the living room and master bedroom have sliding glass doors that open to the balcony, and the second bedroom has a window facing the beach.
The Beachcomber is a well-maintained six story building located right on the beach with a helpful on-site manager, WI-FI internet access, elevators, and laundry facilities.

we had a very wonderful time at 406, we were very pleased with everything, can not wait to come back in 2013 for another stay, palm trees did block some of the view, but was able to look around them.Recommended for: Age 55+.

We stayed in this unit for 1 week in August. The unit was nice and clean. The beach and pool were not ever crowded. The unit provided basic kitchen items, beach towels, and beach toys to use. The pictures are accurate, except for the living room, there is now a nice flat screen TV. I contacted management regarding WiFi inside the unit, BEFORE we committed to renting at this particular condo. I was told that ALL units have WiFi, what a JOKE! They claim to have WiFi in all units, but it is almost impossible to maintain a connection...it comes and goes. Unfortunately my husband and I both had work related commitments during our stay that required internet for communications. We repeatedly called the office to report our difficulty connecting. Each time they said they would reset the router and relay. Sometimes it would work (for a brief period of time) sometimes it wouldn’t. Their comment was that we could “come down to the lobby anytime to use our laptops, as WiFi works there”. Not something I wanted to do, or should have to do since they advertised WiFi in ALL units. If the building structure makes connection near impossible, then don't advertise it. Management was not as friendly as I expected. They represent the condo and smiles were rarely seen. One afternoon, we decided to use the communal grill in the breeze way. I followed the instructions provided and couldn't get the grill to ignite. I went inside for assistance and was told that "it works", but I "did it wrong" and I wasn't "following the directions". He said he would come out and help, but he never came outside:( I ended up repacking our cooler and trekked back up to the condo to cook our lunch. Upon checkout, when I turned in the keys to the front office, they didn’t inquire about our stay…in fact I don’t think I even got a smile or a “thank you”. I also thought that the elevators and hallways were a bit on the stuffy side. I understand that they are trying to conserve energy…but it was hot in the middle of the afternoon! When I received our email confirmation for our stay, it mentioned that the unit came with only a starter supply of paper goods and soap, so I made sure to pack our own. The email was not as detailed as the note posted inside the unit on the refrigerator. Then it was a bit too late with some of the detailed information. They don’t even supply garbage bags, make sure you bring those too. There is a Publix across the street, but it closed for renovation until December.Recommended for: Age 55+.
Owner response: Hi, thanks for your honest review of our condo and building. I'm sorry your experience with WIFI in our condo was not up to expectation. During the month of August our Association was in the process of upgrading wireless service and changing internet service providers. It seems during this process some of the routers and other equipment supporting the wireless signal were not functioning as intended. Now that the transition is complete our internet service has been improved, and we now have a good wireless signal inside our condo. Thank you again for taking time to give us feedback, and I hope we will see you again next Summer.

The view from our balcony is superb, looking across a few palm trees to the sandy white beach and the gulf of Mexico.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
The location of the Beachcomber is near the south end of Longboat Key towards Saint Armands Circle. Because it is across the street from the market we don't need to get in the car and drive for most errands.
