Enjoy a peaceful and relaxing vacation on a 100 acre working salt-water farm in Down East, Maine. While sitting on the deck of the cottage you will be surrounded by a harbor view, a tidal brook, hay fields, gardens, birds and the sounds of nature. Activities on the farm include walks through the woods and blueberry picking. You will also enjoy fresh eggs and access to the vegetable gardens. Kayaks and canoes have easy access to Orcutt's Harbor.
The island-like geography of Brooksville provides an off the beaten path feel while at the same time offering a wide variety of easy day trips to places like Holbrook Island Sanctuary, Blue Hill, Deer Isle – Stonington, Isle au Haut, and historic Castine. Mount Desert Island is just over an hour away where you can enjoy Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
Our guests have included families with young children, honeymooners, retired couples, sailors needing some “land time” and people who grew up here looking to reconnect. Regardless of age or purpose, they all seem to enjoy their stay and often return. Similarly, we enjoy having guests in the cottage and will help in any way we can to make your visit memorable.

Enjoyed staying with beautiful view. Very soothing. The cabin itself is bit small and provides the bare essentials but the owners are very gracious hosts and have it very well equipped. In the right weather (we rented late August), you can spend hours on the porch enjoying the meadow and sea view while having breakfast or cooking dinner. The immediate area has lot to see with town of Blue Hill 7-8 miles offering grocery/cafes etc. Acadia National park is an hour and definitely worth seeing.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

Thanks to the lovely family of Harbor View Farms and their beautiful, rustic farm cottage our trip to Maine was magical, relaxing, and full of fun and adventure. Brooksville and the surrounding areas has so much to do for all ages, and if you're a nature lover you will be in heaven. Simply sitting on the cozy deck of the Saltwater Farm Cottage will get you back in touch with nature and put you in a peaceful frame of mind.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

This is a great spot for a quiet excursion and I could not have asked for anything more. The kitchen was thoughtfully equipped to a tee. Everything was comfortable inside and nothing was too far away outside (including a lobsterman who sells from his garage). As good as it gets.Recommended for: Sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers, people with disabilities.

Earlier this summer we stayed in this beautiful cabin for a couple of days. Everything is right about a vacation to Harborview Farm and Brooksville including the view, the breeze, the delicious sausage and eggs, as well as Peter and his family's generosity and helpfulness. I could not recommend this stay, or a trip to Bagaduce Lunch, more highly.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.

This little cabin is clean, and lovely and perfect. We had a wonderful time kayaking, hiking, exploring the farm and the area around it. It's also just a wonderful place to relax and soak in the fresh, sea air. There were absolutely no hidden fees. This place is a little slice of heaven.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway, adventure seekers.

One could not ask for a more pleasant 1st-time Maine experience. It is such a beautiful area, with such fantastic people. The cottage was very warm and cozy, as was the entire farm. The owners were extremely kind and helpful as well. Another great perk is that so much beautiful landscape is within the immediate area. My favorite time spent in Maine was nearby the cottage, exploring the coast, cooking amazing seafood, and enjoying great company. Less than a mile away is Buck's Harbor Market which carries all your basic needs plus some great extras. Shortly over in Blue Hill is the Blue Hill Co-op, which has a little more variety, wonderful local products and great coffee. While in the area, check out Bagaduce Lunch for a terrific lunch with an equally terrific view. If going out to Acadia, on Route 3, stop by Trenton Lobster Pound & Real BBQ, just outside of Ellsworth, for some great seafood and surprisingly fantastic BBQ. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my time in this wonderful place. The only downside was having to go back home. I can't wait to return here soon!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+.

Clean, bright, cottage in a beautiful setting. The owner has made every effort to equip the cottage with anything possibly needed during a stay, whether it be a sunny day or rainy day.......games, books, puzzles, information about the area plus a canoe and/or kayak at our disposal with the offer of help to put it in the water. Joanne and Peter are very accommodating and helpful. The cottage is convenient to a post office and library with wifi hotspot. Nearby is the village of Buck Harbor with a small congenial store for emergency needs. There is also a farmers' market there on Tuesdays. Blue Hill has a nice grocery store and good restaurants....Barncastle for great pizza, Marlintini's for good food. Nearby is El El Frijoles for Mexican food with a twist. The halibut tacos that I had were superb. This is a gorgeous area!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, adventure seekers.
