About this property

Private 60 Acre Wine Country Estate with a Pool and Vineyards

Escape for a long weekend or the month at our private vineyard located in Knights Valley between Napa and Sonoma, world-class wine regions with hundreds of wineries, outstanding restaurants, and farmer's markets. Amidst it's mountain surroundings, our vineyard is only 4-miles from Calistoga at the north end of the Napa Valley.

Our 60 acre property is a working vineyard with acres of vines lined by our own olive grove and apple tree orchard. We harvest the grapes each fall to make our own gold medal Lawer Estates wines. Wake up to the sun sweeping over the vines and go to sleep under the stars. Enjoy the pool with its sweeping view of the vineyards. Though it's private, you can easily grab local roasted coffee and breakfast just minutes away in Calistoga.

The original 1940s two story 1500 sf farmhouse on the property is custom decorated and has 2 bedrooms each with a queen size bed and 2 full bathrooms. The fully stocked kitchen is replete with everything you need to make a gourmet dinner with local ingredients picked up during the day. The living and dining rooms are perfect to accommodate you during your stay.

Come celebrate holidays or special occasions with your family and friends. Start with appetizers outside overlooking the vines at one of the outdoor dining tables, play a game of bocce ball at sunset and toast the day with a great feast around the dinner table. In the fall, we encourage our guests to pick apples from the apple trees throughout the property.

Fly direct to the Charles Schultz Sonoma County/Santa Rosa airport from Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles, or San Diego on Horizon Air. Walk off the plane, drive 25 minutes to our private vineyard property, and you'll be ready to start your month long stay - unless you decide to go wine tasting along the way. Alternatively, you may opt to fly into San Francisco, Oakland or Sacramento Airport and drive approximately 2 hours to the property. A welcome gift of our gold medal winning wine awaits you upon arrival.

A great month in a beautiful vineyard
What an amazing stay in a fantastic location - tucked in an amphitheater-like ring of seven hills and a little off the beaten track 15 minutes from Calistoga, sits a vast 60-acre vineyard in which sits charming, comfortable, and highly functional farmhouse. Upon our arrival, it had everything we needed to get comfortable quickly and more than sustained us through our stay. It had a perfect set-up for indoor/outdoor living, a lovely pool, bocce court, and daily walks around the vineyard with stops to pick apples and pears from the orchard. The only thing to keep in mind as a potential guest: it's a bit remote so no cell service and satellite internet (email and text messaging only!). The Property Manager was incredibly helpful, responsive, and really went out of her way to make our month-long stay a delight. Also: the Lawer Family wines from the very vineyard you're staying in were very enjoyable and available from their tasting room in downtown Calistoga.

The "Vineyard" is the ultimate weekend getaway
The “Vineyard” is the ultimate weekend getaway for family and friends. It’s truly a magical place in a storybook setting. We felt like we were living a fairytale. The secluded property is gorgeous and very well maintained and I've already recommended to other friends. I will never forget drinking coffee at sunrise overlooking the peaceful valley, listening to the sounds of all the different birds, jogging the property, swimming morning, noon and night, all the laughter playing bocce ball, and the relaxing sunset dinner on the patio. It's about 15-20 minutes from downtown Calistoga so relatively close to restaurants, shopping, and wine tasting. Thank you for making my birthday weekend so special...we will be back!

Unique & exceptional Napa Valley choice
The Vineyard earns very high marks from our family. It is a unique property perfectly suited for a family, couples or group of six. Convenient to Calistoga and the rest of the Napa Valley vineyards, restaurants and attractions the property itself is pleasantly guarded from any unwanted distractions. The main house and the guest house combine for ideal privacy and time together whether it's in the dining/living room, kitchen or on the porch. The owners rep is responsive, honest and easy to deal with. Highly recommended!

Cottage in the vineyard
This is a great place. We loved the location in the hills above Calistoga, the pool, bocce court and well-equipped kitchen. The place had everything you'd want including satellite TV and internet (cell phone is spotty but feasible). if you like Calistoga, and we prefer it, this is a great place to stay. Taking morning walks through the vineyard and sampling the leftover grapes as we walked was a daily venture.

Overwhelming Beauty
We had the honor of staying here for our daughter's wedding. Yes, it was an honor. The "Vineyard" is a truly wonderful experience. The drive up to the gates is the beginning of the fantasy of this property. Rows of grapes, labeled with their variety greets you once through those gates. There is a short drive to the most charming farmhouse. The pictures are accurate but they cannot portrait the feelings we had. Furnishings were so very comfortable. The beds heavenly and the baths were soothing. "Well appointed" will fall short if I used this to describe it. You will want for nothing. The grounds were meticulous. The pool area was serene, and easy to use. Sitting outside, either in the chilly mornings or for a sunset cocktail, you will feel like you are in another country. I've been to Tuscany and the beauty of this area is more than comparative. Looking out the upstairs' bedroom windows in the morning you will see the fog beginning to lift up to the hills adjacent to the property. As I mentioned, it was our daughter's wedding that brought us to Calistoga. The stay here added to a very happy time and most memorable experience. Maggie, property manager, was a gem. Her professional assistance with mailings we sent were greatly appreciated. This experience was positive from the beginning. Communications were prompt and exact. Directions were spot on. The road to the property can be intimidating at first. My family insists we return to the "Vineyard" and stay no where else!
