Imagine an idyllic water front setting surrounded by mountains and the Cherokee National Forest. This beautiful home, which sleeps 11 adults on Watauga Lake, Tennessee, has 4 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, 2 double futons, a fireplace, 3 decks, ping pong table, boat dock and best of all a Jacuzzi Hot Tub with a lake view. If you want serenity, chances to observe wildlife, dock your boat ( or rent one) just steps below the house, fish right off the same dock, and enjoy a wine on the deck by the water in the late afternoon, this is the place for you, your family, and friends.
Even though you may want to get away from it all, it does provide for those who do need or want to stay in touch a satellite internet access. Along with the internet, the home also has satellite television ( 2 ) for our guests' entertainment.
The Guesthouse is only 30 minutes to many well known places in North Carolina, such as Boone, home to Appalachian State University, Beech Mountain and the Blue Ridge Parkway. The other exciting destinations close by are Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls, and the charming town of Blowing Rock. Just about an hour away is historic Joneborough, the oldest community in Tennessee, which is a total delight. Walk the streets and enjoy the Quaint shops and go to the Park on Fri. evenings for Lots of FREE Bluegrass entertainment. If you have heard of NASCAR racing, Bristol is only 20 miles north of our lake and only 45 Min. from our house. Just 30 miles from our location is Damascus, Virginia which offers a bicycle route down 17 miles of the Famous Creeper Trail from the summit of White Top Mountain. It is unmatched by anything you have ever experienced on 2 wheels. This is enjoyed by small children to retirees alike.
The area also offers the legendary Appalachain Trail across the north side of the lake along with hiking, biking, kayaking, canoeing, rafting, and golfing at nearby areas from our home. Our Cabin location on the lake is perfect for biking, kayaking,and canoeing, or just plain walking. There are 6 marinas on the lake to find a rental boat to explore the many fingers of this Third Cleanest Lake in the United States.

We live in Florida and find heading to the mountains and a crisp in the air during the spring, summer, and fall a wonderful experience. The lake shimmers each time we visit and the fall foliage is unmatched in its explosion of its red, yellow, and orange colors. This is such delight being residents of Florida and all our greenery. We love to explore the area of eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina due to their incredible views from the mountain tops, especially the Blue Ridge Parkway. We also really enjoy biking the Creeper Trail in Virginia along with boating on our lake. We never miss going antiquing each time we are in the area along with visiting all the quaint and charming small towns and General Stores. We also have a fun game of counting the various wildlife (birds, deer, ducks, wild turkeys, ect..) we encounter or see while in the region. Lastly, our photography of the scenery, communities, barns, and people are always so memorable and treasured. When ever we have the opportunity to visit, it completely renews us for the hectic life that always awaits us at home. The peacefulness and serenity of this place can not be matched or the memories we have had with our family, friends, and neighbors that has joined us at our retreat on the lake. We hope you will have these same great memories, too!

The house was very spacious. Provided a great retreat from skiing. The view was fantastic. Accommodating 9 people with easy and relaxing in the hottub over looking the mountain and lake was a great plus. A side notes: If you are planning on skiing put Boone, NC into the gps first as the GPS wants to take you through a very sketchy mountain road if you dont. If you have 4 wheel drive it would be fun! Also: Pictures dont do this place justice. It is beautiful.

Thanks so mch for the hospitality! Boating was great once we figured out which side of the map was up. Fishing also awesome before we put the hook in my hand! The Guest House was a great place for our Rendecous with our two Families. Over the years we've enjoyed staying in the Smokies and this place is even better plus the lake provided some good fishing results for the kids. (Bass & Bluegill) This was the perfect spot to stay while some of our group went to the Bristol Races. We also want to thank you for keeping this lace so beautiful.....

The Guests House has provided our family a great place to reunite. We loved the lake, beautiful, clean, quiet and a great place for the kids to learn to drive the jet skis and to water ski. This was our second visit to the Guest House. Four Years ago we had a fantastic mini-reunion of our families and this time was even better. We especially loved the new deck by the water and the big Boat Dock. We had many laughs and much reminiscing over the last few days. The Cabin is great and we had plenty of room even with 4 teenagers. The lake is really clean and plenty for us to do and enjoy. Also note the naked mermaid added a little fun and mystery to the trip!
