The townhouse is spacious enough for three small families (we had five adults and 3 young children). The kitchen was well stocked and functional. The location was a bit further from the slopes than we expected, but still walkable. It was clean and had everything we needed. We did have some issues with the storage closet and front door keys not working, but I anticipate the owners will get that fixed. Overall, a good value and functional space. We will be back.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, adventure seekers, families with young children.

We have stayed at this lovely townhome three times and we always have a wonderful time. Plenty of room but cozy enough to make you feel like you are tucked away in a mountain hideaway. It is peaceful and quiet yet close enough to the breweries, wineries, restaurants and antique stores in the area to get out and stretch your legs. The golf courses are close at hand as are the slopes, trails, and spa. The property is always exceptionally clean and the owners could not be easier to work with. I would highly recommend this property to anyone.Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

We spent a long weekend in this unit in early March. There were 5 adults and one child. Walked to slopes and the mountain lodge. Unit was nice, cozy and very clean. Owners were great to work with during the transaction and stay. Would recommend this unit and would stay again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We really enjoyed staying at your loft! The set up was perfect for our group and there was plenty of room! The kitchen had all of the supplies needed for cooking and the fully stocked laundry room was a plus as well! We wished the slopes were a bit closer as the walk down the hill was ok, but the walk back was exhausting carrying snowboarding gear. Thanks for the hospitality!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

I cannot say enough good things about this property. This was my second stay here and I already can't wait to go back. The townhome is exceptionally clean and comfortable and has everything you could possibly need...from extra soft blankets to spices for cooking. What a great place to wind down and relax. We even discovered a couple of games that were a hit with our group! Who knew 4 adults could still enjoy Jenga so much! However my favorite thing was waking up in the mornings to head out to the deck to enjoy a hot cup of coffee in the cool mountain air surrounded by nothing but the sounds of the wilderness. The location is great as well! We toured many of the nearby wineries and breweries, as well as Dickie Brothers Orchards. Unfortunately I cannot give any reviews of the local restaurants because we had so much fun heading back up the mountain in the evenings to sip on some of the local wines we just purchased while fixing a home-cooked meal. The kitchen has everything you need! Also, I would highly recommend stopping at the Nelson County Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. What a great find! The best thing about this property is that after a long day of exploring the hiking trails you don't feel like you are heading back to an unfamiliar rental to try and relax...you feel like you are heading home! It's wonderful!"Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, families with young children, girls getaway, age 55+.

Great place for the four of us. The location was good near the restaurants, golf courses, and the ski slopes (though it was summer). The accommodations were more than adequate, and the kitchen/bar area was very modern and enjoyable. Some small issues we had were the spiders and stink bugs. There were numerous webs throughout the downstairs and in the loft, and having to sleep near a big spider (we tried unsuccessfully to remove this spider numerous times, but it continued to slide back in the crack of bricks/wall) and web was uncomfortable. Naturally the time of year brought numerous stink bugs from the outside, but our home is battling the same issue so no one to blame there. It was a great chance for us to get away, and this location provided that very well. We would consider staying there in the snow season if we come back, but the two women in my family would probably be spooked because of the spiders there in the Fall.Recommended for: Adventure seekers.
Owner response: Welcome to the Wilderness! Fall is a great time to enjoy the beautiful foliage but also a time when spiders and other common insects try out the warmer indoors, especially when a townhouse is surrounded by the wilderness. We have two small children (as do many of our other guests) and we do not use any poisons or insecticides unless necessary. Our excellent cleaning service has assured us that they will do an extra check for spiders during the Fall season.

We recently stayed at this great condo in White Oak. Several friends reuniting for a weekend and attending a music festival at nearby Devil's Backbone Brewery. The condo is wonderful and chic with it's more modern decor and a great sleek color scheme--Pottery Barn-esque. We had a fantastic evening meal on the deck after cooking in the very well appointed kitchen. The bar was great for serving snacks and pouring wine and hanging out. I would recommend this rental with great enthusiasm and am sure we will return again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, romantic getaway, adventure seekers, girls getaway.

About the owner: Yes, we like skiing, but for us being at Wintergreen is best anytime we want to get away from it all with our family. Spring for watching nature come to life once again, Summer for the 10 to 15 degree cooler temps than the Richmond area, and Fall for the vibrant foliage colors and crackling logs in the fireplace.
