My husband and I invited our wedding party to stay with us in this beautiful home during our wedding weekend in October 2012. We live in Oakland and got married at the Brazilian Room in Tilden Park, but this house made us feel like we were miles away. It really has a sense of luxury about it, and it made our wedding weekend something to remember. The view is gorgeous and Chris has really thought of everything to make this home comfortable and fun. He was very accommodating to our needs and unexpected plans. We were originally slightly bummed about not being able to ride up the narrow driveway in a limo (due to a strong turn in the driveway), but that seemed so trivial once we were headed back to this amazing house. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Thank you Chris!Recommended for: Sightseeing, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

The home more than met our expectations, in fact exceeding most of them. The pictures really don’t do the property justice. The view of the valley and Mt Diablo in the morning is truly amazing. We were there in January so we didn't get to use too many of the outdoor facilities other than the hot tub and outdoor grill. Both worked well! Some of the more adventurous family members waded into the pool that was quite cold. With warmer weather, one could easily live out in the back yard. Indoors, the home had nearly a TV in every room with plenty of entertainment options. There were plenty of bedrooms and baths to accommodate 3 couples and extra persons as well. The only privacy issue that arose was some glass block windows in the shower of the main bath. That was quickly remedied with a little tape and some paper. The kitchen and eating areas served us well, with plenty of space and cooking utensils. The beds were comfy; the home was adequately warm with heat circulating fireplaces available if you wanted to cozy up to some extra warmth. The laundry facilities were great with tons of extra towels and bedding. The home was clean and very well maintained. All in all, it was very spacious and comfortable for our group of 7. The home was centrally located to many tourist attractions in the area. Likewise, if you wanted to stay nearby there was shopping and hiking as well. Chris was super nice, always available for questions. He pampered us with fresh oranges and honey from his yard. They were a real treat for us Mid-westerners. We would return for sure. The memories of games around the table, pool table challenges and hanging around the fireplace will always be remembered. Definitely one of, if not the best vacation home we have rented.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children.

My extended family all gathered in the Bay Area to celebrate Christmas together and we had a terrific week staying at the home. Chris was a terrific host and very accomodating with all our needs. And the house was beautiful, spacious and perfect for a large gathering and meals together. We enjoyed the spa and pool area as weather permitted. And we played billiards and board games indoor by the fireplace on other days. Everything was first rate and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Chris even put up Christmas decorations and a tree for us. Thanks Chris for everything.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children.

Our family of 10 rented the Tuscan Villa for Thanksgiving week. Ages ranged from 60 to 3 years old and everyone found something to their liking. The rooms are generously proportioned and the majority have wonderful views of the foothills and Mt. Diablo. With the recent rain and the change to fall, the tree colors were just lovely. The light in most rooms is very bright due to the large windows and well-positioned skylights. The pool area is incredible with a hot tub that fits 6-8 comfortably. The outside grill, kitchen area, television and sound system is why people spent so many comfortable hours outside, socializing, cooking and relaxing. The kitchen is designed to allow several people to work at once. We have several very picky cooks in the family and all of them had room to work with good surfaces and equipment and were very pleased with the results of their efforts. The younger family members spent a lot of time playing pool which was situated next to the kitchen and dining room so socializing and eating could continue during play. Because the home is so well-equipped, you hardly need to leave. But, it is close to major walking and biking trails in the area and they are not to be missed. It was a great way to walk off all the eating that was done! I would recommend this home for large families, those who want privacy and relaxation and those who want easy access to local transportation into San Francisco. If you like to walk, the BART is within walking distance (~1 mile) of this home. This is a beautiful, comfortable and very serene vacation home.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway.

We stayed at this Tuscan Villa for a long weekend when my nephew got married in Walnut Creek. All 8 of us were so comfortable in this wonderful house. It was November 2nd and we all got to swim in the heated pool and enjoy the jacuzzi. It was 70 degrees and sunny. The house was gorgeous, clean and the views the most beautiful I have seen in california. Chris the owner couldn't have been more accomodating. He even gave us a bottle of wine from his own vineyard on site. We can't wait to return for a longer stay sometime. Without question, this was the best place we have ever rented, here in the US or abroad on any of our vacations. We live nearby, but had family and friends visiting the Bay Area for a 40th-birthday celebration. How lucky for us that this beautiful place was available (and over Labor Day weekend, no less!) The house is amazing on its merits -- spacious, open, nicely decorated, and all the amenities you could wish for. But the outdoor lanai/pool area is simply breathtaking! We did not want to leave. Nobody wanted to leave! Brother-in-law offered to stay on as Pool Boy. :-) Thank you again, Chris, for making this a memorable occasion! My husband and I stayed here to celebrate our 40th wedding anniversary. We grew up in Oakland so we were closeby to connect with family and friends to celebrate. We invited our sons, their significant others, and my in-laws for overnight and everyone had a quiet, comfortable bed, room and setting for their private enjoyment. We had a dinner for 20 by the pool using the outdoor kitchen; what a delight for all who attended. The gorgeous scenery and setting, close to everything but quiet even though the highway is so near is just wonderful and was like having a resort all to ourselves. Whether sitting by the firepit, enjoying the hot tub, or lounging poolside, every guest was amazed that this little bit of heaven is smack dab in the middle of a bustling metropolis, close to BART as well as the local Farmer's Market!! Owner lives in house on back of property and avail if needed. I would recommend this property for any tourist visiting Bay Area or local who would like a vacation but doesn't want to travel far! Due to many levels I would NOT recommend for elderly or disabled. Kids would need to know how to swim but they would love it if they do!Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

This was truly a great location for our vacation. The villa is great; really spacious and fully equipped with everything you could need, and has a great music / entertainment system. The reliable WiFi was a bonus. The outdoor cooking and dining area by the pool and hot tub is something else, with views to die for... The location is great for getting in to San Francisco (35 minutes on the BART, which is only 5-10 minutes from the villa), and Napa less than an hour. Muir Woods is also achievable in less than an hour. We loved Walnut Creek which is just a few minutes drive away, with lots of great shops and restaurants. If you're looking for a base for a vacation in this area, you won't go far wrong with this place! Our jaws dropped when Chris showed us the house. It was a sunny day and the view looking out over the infinity pool was amazing. We were in Lafayette to celebrate our daughter's graduation from nursing school. There were several of us that came up from San Diego. This is not the first time we've rented nice homes but this was the best. I heard that several times from everyone. The house is nice and multi level but it's the pool area that really is astounding. This is the perfect place to entertain someone you want to impress and hugely private. The view out the windows makes you feel like you're far away in the woods instead of 5 minutes from the business district in lovely Lafayette. As said in other reviews, the pictures really don't do the house justice. It's even nicer than that. I would go back in a minute and lastly Chris was wonderful and attentive plus I got my full deposit back within two weeks with a nice thank you card. No, thank you Chris. You're the best.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, girls getaway.

My wife and I came from Houston Texas to spend the weekend in this home. Chris was EXCEPTIONAL at assisting us giving us the tour of the home and allowing us to make it feel for that weekend it was our home! When we got there my first thought was R U FREAKIN KIDDING ME? This home was Incredible! very spacious and that was just on the inside. Once you went to the back forget about it! View was breathtaking! Massive pool and Jacuzzi that lit up at the touch of a button outside kitchen with the pit and tv outside Wow! My Dad and i birthday fell on the same day so i thought it would be great to have a birthday party for he and me that weekend...I had my whole immediate family both my brothers and their families stay with us....everyone enjoyed the time there! and when we had the party by the pool it was like a mini family reunion! family members came that i had never even met and others i hadnt seen in 20 plus years! This home brought us all together IN STYLE! and get a load of this Chris sent us a card thanking us for our time there! Professional wonderful guy! I can assure you that me and my wife will return..and as one of my cousins stated lastly i asked him how was he enjoying himself he was sitting overlooking the view he said This is the real UPPER ROOM! lolRecommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, pet owners, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
