Paris Arrondissement 3 apartment description

Three blocks from both Place des Vosges and the Musée Picasso, in the heart of the oldest and most historic part of Marais, just above an art gallery, this amazing 27 sq/m studio is ideally situated.

The apartment is located on the 3rd floor (European no elevator) of a very charming XVIIth century building with a classic historical staircase.

It was completely renovated in 2008 and the idea was to establish a dialogue between XVIIth century architecture and modern design, original times and ceiling beams with a very modern equipped kitchen (with a dishwasher, a microwave and a hotplate), an Italian shower and a very comfortable convertible queen size bed . This convertible queen size bed and supplied mattress are premium quality.

The apartment, with high ceiling, has a typical view over French Parisian roofs, facing west, and large window provide plenty of light, even on cloudy days.

There is a Wi-Fi high speed connection, with a flat screen TV and cable with more than 70 channels.

You will walk to the Place des Vosges within a minute, and enjoy the typical 'quartier' very convenient and alive, with all type of shops, bakeries, butcher... Many restaurants, theaters and cinemas, cafés , bars...and modern art galleries.

I will be very happy to welcome you in Paris and bring any support and advises during your stay.

A bientôt rue de Turenne!
Guillaume

You can stop your searching now. You have found the right place here, at Rue de Turenne! The location in le Marais gives you all the quaint class of feeling like a local, but a street away from touristy Saint-Antoine, which turns into Rivoli, giving you access to shops like Monoprix to buy essentials (& bank machine in the downstairs), and many cafes, bistros, patisseries to get your treats. Of course, it's direct access to the main artery of the city with Notre Dame, Louvre a short walk away. Within Marais, a maze of incredible streets to explore. Close to all metros. Guillaume is a relaxed and comfortable, but busy Parisien host! If you are North American like me, some advice: ask all your questions from the get-go, and be sure UPON ARRIVAL to ask how the washmachine, dishwasher, telephone, WiFi, radiator and TV works (no issues with any, but the radiator didn't work -- issue if you travel in colder seasons. Guillaume offered to bring one the next day). You will be so excited by the spotless flat, enchanted by the incredible view out your windows, delighted by the decor, blown away by the beautiful, historic 3-floor walk-up that you'll likely forget! Note: European walk-ups conserve energy: you'll need to pop on the lights. Bring a little flashlight, or ask. This flat is good if you have a small child, two friends who want to share a bed or a space on the floor, indeed for couples -- and IDEAL for the solo traveller who wants to be central, stylish, and maybe have a friend or two over for a glass of wine. The bed is EXTREMELY comfortable as a queen size or a turned-up sofa. As for noise on your travelled Turenne street? The silence is deafening thanks to amazing double-glazed windows. Yes, that quiet, that peaceful. This is your oasis. You have everything you need here: fabulous bathroom & sink, fridge, oven, stove, kettle, microwave. I couldn't find the forks, and sure, those two lights are still not changed -- but turn on the range-vent light -- or buy some romantic candles: This is your Fabulous Getaway! I plan to return for a longer stay and would not hesitate to recommend this gorgeous flat to everyone! Of course, there was one thing ... the flat desperately needs ... a Vase! This is to put the florist's Phillippe's flowers on your table to greet you in the morning and night. Yes, you will feel part of the neighbourhood, and owner Guillaume just down the street if you need him. Thanks Guillaume for all your patience! It was a perfect stay!

There are so many reasons why we loved our stay on Rue de Turenne! Top of the list is the apartment’s central location in the Marais district, which makes many of the city’s sites and attractions accessible by foot. There are also several Metro stops nearby, and the #96 bus runs right in front of the apartment building. The right bank of the Seine is a few blocks away. When we asked Guillaume for local restaurant recommendations, he suggested we try Fulvio's restaurant; we liked the pasta dishes so much that we returned three times in the week we were there. This is not the place to stay if you’re looking for peace and quiet—after all, this is Paris, and the apartment is on a very vibrant and well-travelled street. The area boasts many cafes, restaurants, pubs, boutiques, wine stores, two open-air markets…the list is endless! Guillaume is a relaxed and welcoming host, and we look forward to our next trip to Paris.

We spent a week in this wonderful studio in the Marais district. Fabulous location close to all amenities for shopping and sight-seeing which made it a great place to stay. The owner, Guillaume, was very agreeable from making the booking, to greeting us at the apartment and made many suggestions for places to eat and shop which were very helpful. The apartment was clean upon arrival and had a very comfortable pull-out sofabed - tres confortable! Plenty of storage for clothing (with lots of hangers), washer, dishwasher. Bright and accomodating kitchen facilities. We would definitely recommend this to friends and relatives. Merci beaucoup, Guillaume!

Good location as everyone has noted, central in Marais but also noisy, especially if you open the windows. A few things could have made my experience better; 3 light bulbs were burned out, 1 in bathroom and 2 in kitchen, made for gloomy nights and hard to use the kitchen. The phone didn't work, I'd asked specifically about it in advance and told the agent day 2 but he never fixed it or the lights. He did help me make an important call from his office but would have been better if the phone in the apartment worked. Not as clean as I'd have liked. Bed is very comfortable. Best thing about this place is the area - near restaurants, metro and Velib bike station one-block away! Loved that.

Owner response: Dear Donna, I'm very embarassed these 3 lights were not changed on time, but I had troubles with my wife who were sick for a while, so I could not focus properly on the flat; on the top of that, I had to look after the kids. However, I'm glad you enjoyed your stay, and for your information, I will get brand new double glazed windows to make sure noise don't be a problem anymore and also a fresh air column fan. I hope to welcome you again in the future @ rue de Turenne! Guillaume, the owner

We stayed here for nine nights for our honeymoon and we are so grateful we chose this apartment. It's a really cozy and nice home in a great neighborhood, and the owner Guillaume is really nice and extremely helpful. He can help you with anything you need in Paris. The location can't be beat, you are in a nice safe area with great little clothes shops, boulanger, cafés, brasseries, a grocery store 1.5 blocks away. A short walk to two Metro stops. Short walk to everything, really. The apartment has is all - comfy nice bed with feather comforter, nice large hot shower, wifi, cable TV, espresso maker, fridge, everything you need to make meals in the kitchen too. I would definitely stay here again!

I stayed here for a week and thoroughly enjoyed it. Guillaume was fantastic to work with and very responsive. He made sure we had everything we needed and was available for questions. The studio was very clean and all amenities were in proper working order. It was very airy and light during the day, and the pull out was comfortable. I used the dishwasher and washing machine too. Marais was a great safe area to stay in, but dangerous because of all the great shopping nearby! At the end of a long day of shopping, it was nice to pick up a baguette sandwich and visit Places des Vosges around the corner, or to stop at the numerous cafes for coffee or wine on the walk back to the unit. There were a couple convenient Metro stops nearby, but the place was also a nice 15-20 min walk to the Notre Dame and Latin Quarter areas. I would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location and very responsive and helpful owner. The apartment is just around the corner from Place des Vosges and could not be better situated. Guillaume was very helpful and gave us great recommendations for places to eat and things to do, including the Sunday market near Bastille. The value was excellent and we enjoyed our stay. One note is that the apartment faces out onto a somewhat busy street and can be noisy at night if you have the windows open.

Owner response: Dear Aimee, Thank you for your very kind review. Regarding the inconvenients about the noise, it is probably due to the fashion week event that happened when you stayed in our flat. I look forward welcoming you again in the future, Kindest Regards Guillaume

We stayed in the apartment for 7 nights. The owner was easy to deal with during the booking and was there to greet us. Made nice recommendations and was easy to deal with. He speaks English which is a huge plus. The apartment was spacious for a studio and its only a 5 minute walk to 3 different Metro stops. Nice appliances and the apartment has a new washer/dryer. The area was the best part. Being in Marais, its surrounded by nice bakeries, Bistros, bars, cafe's and a Supermarket. 10 walk to the Pompidou Centre. The only thing is the old Paris plumbing. The old piping does leave the bathroom with a smell, but that's "Old Wolrd Plumbing", We loved our stay and would return.

Owner response: Dear Robert, Thank you for your very positive review and your advise about the bathroom; he did fix the plumbing probleme and we will be very happy to welcome you again at Turenne! Merci Guillaume

What a great place to stay! The studio was very clean, surprisingly spacious, and had a lot of light, despite the gray days. Pull-out bed was comfortable, and everything but the washing machine worked (and I did not need this). Guillaume was easy to work with and is just around the corner for any emergencies. The location is phenomenal - right near Chemin Vert and Bastille metros, and in walking distance to so much. I highly recommend and would return in a heartbeat!

Guillaume, was easy to work with and was very helpful at providing information about the area. We stayed for a week and thought that the apartment's location (2 blocks from Notre Dame) was outstanding. While the apartment is small, it is both well decorated and very functional with all new appliances and furnishings. It is both comfortable and practical as we were able to cook many of our meals to help save a little bit of money. It is close to a couple different markets and has a coffee/pastry shop 20 meters from the entrance to the building. I would highly recommend staying here if you have the opportunity. We're planning a return trip next year and we already plan to contact Guillaume to see if this rental is available. Thanks Again Guillaume! Adam and Gabriela
