Thank you for a wonderful stay! This was the perfect home base for our vacation. This is THE closest condo to the beach and steps away from everything the resort has to offer. Dukes restaurant is close for you to enjoy the live music from the lanai but it's just nice background music, not loud. This unit must have super thick windows because you can't hear a thing once the window and doors are closed. There's a nice gourmet store in the lobby of the Hokulani building (this building of Honua Kai) which has a great bakery and is the perfect place for after dinner treats. You can see from the photos how nice the unit is, what you can't see is how well stocked it is! Snorkel masks and fins, inner tubes, boogie boards, floats, tons of beach toys, all clad cookware and for parents there is even an umbrella stroller in the unit. We loved the condo and Anne and the management company are great to work with. Also, we have little kids so we were constantly searching for lost toys under the furniture. I can assure you that the place is immaculate - not a speck of dust anywhere. I highly recommend this condo to anyone considering a stay in the Lahaina/Kaanapali/Kapalua area. We did a ton of research on the area's resorts in terms of beaches, weather, crowding, amenities, etc. and I'm convinced that this condo is the best choice in the area - thanks Anne!

We traveled to Maui (my children & husband's first time) in April/May 2011 for 9 days to stay at Honua Kai in this wonderful unit. It was me, my husband, my mother & my two boys, ages 3 & 5. The unit was HUGE! We never once felt like we were in each other's way & there were plenty of private places for my mom to read or the boys to play. My husband and I stayed in one room that led out to the lanai, my kids stayed in the middle room (which was perfect because the bed itself split into two twin mattresses) & my mother had tons of privacy in the third master bedroom. The kitchen was a dream for my husband, who cooks, & he was pleased with the quality of the appliances & utensils available to us. Had a well-stocked spice cabinet, which we added to during out stay. There was also coffee available to us in the unit, which was appreciated. Plenty of room & two dining options, which we loved. We primarily used the outdoor dining room table, which had a refrigerator by the grill. Perfect for cocktail hour. The view was fabulous & we watched every sunset from our lanai & had the pleasure of live music from Duke's every night. The unit is very soundproof, so if the music was not preferable, shut everything up & you wouldn't hear a thing. The pool was to the side of the unit, which we loved because it was an easy way for us to communicate & touch base with each other when at the unit and pool. The outdoor furniture was very comfortable & lots of reading took place out there. The stackable washer/dryer met our needs & was used on a daily basis. The closet with outdoor equipment/toys was fully stocked & had snorkeling equipment, kid's pool/beach toys & chairs. We never wanted to leave...it took us three full days before even leaving the property - not usual for us. The pools were fabulous, people very nice, not overly crowded, clean & wonderful. It will be hard to stay anywhere else on Maui after this experience. Last by not least, the owner, Anne, was incredible. She was responsive, friendly & instilled a great deal of confidence in her unit. Thank you Anne!

Superlatives can hardly do justice to this lovely condo and its location. From the moment we walked through the door, we were drawn to the incredible views of the Pacific. Window walls on two sides of the spacious living/dining/kitchen area folded open onto the large L-shaped lanai, bringing the breathtaking expanse of ocean and beach into the main living area. The quality and cleanliness throughout was excellent. The owner was very responsive to all our questions, and the booking process and check in process went very smoothly. Privacy among the three large bedrooms was great, though we would have liked a desk in our bedroom for the unavoidable work & phone calls that required attention even in paradise. The Wi-Fi worked great throughout the condo and on the lanai. The boardwalk along the beach runs for miles, all the way to the Hyatt, something those who like to walk or run will find a real plus. The Times grocery store and the fish market are conveniently located just a few blocks away. Several evenings, after taking in the spectacular sunsets, we grilled dinner on the built-in lanai grill -- a wonderful way to conclude our lazy days. The amenities of the Honua Kai property -- pools, gardens, common areas, Duke's Restaurant -- are beautiful and wonderfully maintained. The six of us, which included our two 85+ yr old Moms, all agree that this gorgeous condo and this oceanfront location made our vacation a most fabulous experience!
