You will love this beautiful, directly oceanfront unit on Maui's picturesque south shore. From every angle of this condominium you will be awed by the beauty of the Pacific Ocean, with swaying palms in the foreground and the West Maui mountains as a backdrop. The condominium features a very effective air conditioning system (many Kihei condos do not) for your comfort.
Go for a sunset stroll on the beach, watch the whales from the lanai, wander down to the local shops and restaurants of Kihei, take a refreshing dip in the pool or the warm Pacific ocean, fish on the beach, or sit in the hot tub and gaze at the stars.
Kihei is a wonderful vacation destination on Maui as it boasts very sunny, dry weather, and avoids the frequent rains of the Northern, Western and Eastern parts of the island.
Our building is ideal for a relaxing getaway, a family vacation, or as an action-packed home base from which to enjoy the wealth of attractions and activities that this gorgeous island has to offer.
We have also gone out of our way to try & set the condo up with lots of extras that you will need during your stay, so that you will not have to purchase these items. For example, there are beach chairs,boogie boards, tourist guide books,small & large cooler, &basic kitchen items:spices,oils etc.
SOFA BED FOR SLEEPING FOR UP TO 2 EXTRA GUESTS: The unit is officially listed as having accommodations for 2, but we can have a sofa bed which can sleep an additional 2 people. If you have more than 2 guests in your party, there will be a one time $50 charge. This covers the costs of having the extra linens put in the unit and the extra cleaning and laundry expenses. There is no extra per night charge for the extra guests.
NEWLY RENOVATED and TASTEFULLY DECORATED: We are pleased to offer you tropical finishes with bamboo and rattan furniture with tropical print upholstery. We offer a modern kitchen with flat top stove, dishwasher, full-sized refrigerator, under cabinet mount microwave, coffee maker and toaster oven. GREAT BUILDING and LOCATION: We cater to couples and families with children, as this best reflects the clientele at our resort. My husband and I arrived Feb. 24th to a spotless and tastefully decorated condo unit. It was exactly as advertised - what you see is what you get. There was enough space for the 2 of us, with all the amenities we needed. Very nice view from a rather large lanai. The pool and BBQ area was also very clean and well maintained. The location was great for all our day trips. The owner was very professional and easy to deal with. I thought the Magnum PI DVD set was a great touch and even watched an episode or 2! Thanks for the great week!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Great view of the west maui mtns. Easy access to further south (makena/wailea) as well as to points north and west (wailuku and lahaina). Comfortable place for two outdoorsy types.Owner response: Mahalo Mark. Always so glad when a guest loves it as much as we do! We bought on this side of the building, instead of in the courtyard, so that we could see the West Maui Mountains as well as the ocean and the palm trees in the foreground. The condo is very clean and charming and for the price, it is excellent. The ocean view was lovely as was the updated kitchen. The two small beach chairs, boogie boards and beach towels came in handy. We kept the screen doors closed at night and had no problems with road noise. We were also sure to put away all food (which is key on the islands) so did not have any issues with ants whatsoever. The only slight downside at all is that the mattress on the murphy bed is not the most comfortable and it's probably time to buy a new bed comforter. I would not hesitate to stay again for a short stay.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

The first time I entered this condo, my husband and I fell in love with this place. It is exactly as in the picture and beyond my imagination. Very clean and comfortable, lovely decoration, fully functional kitchen, and equipped with beach gears (big and small coolers, boogie board, and beach chairs), which are very useful and convenient. I can feel the owner's love to this place, making us want to treat it well and keep it clean. We had enjoyed several of our "home-made" breakfast on the lanai accompanied by the stunning ocean view. I'd enjoyed the mountain view outside the door as well. My husband and I would love to come back and stay in this property in the future to add more great memories to our life. Kihei is the best place to stay in Maui. It is beautiful and convenient, many great restaurants and great beaches, but not over-crowded or over-priced. It is perfect for a short getaway or long stay. Love this place, Love Kihei, and Love to come back!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

The complex was clean and neat and the office staff was friendly and helpful. The owner gave me all the details I needed for a stress free vacation. The condo was supplied with all the essentials and the view of the ocean as I woke in the morning was wonderful. We did over shop a little but figure it would help the next person's stay. The video showed me exactly what I was getting before I got there so there were no surprises. I have been to Maui several times and I always stay in Kihei because of it's central location to the best snorkeling and a quick drive to Lahaina. It had everything we needed but the murphy bed could use a little more padding, but we were so tired from being in the ocean though, it didn't really matter. It could be that I'm spoiled at home with my temperpedic mattress, who knows. Overall it was EXCELLENT!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We really love the view from Unit #502. From the minute you walk in the door you are hit by the majesty of the Pacific Ocean, with the palms in the foreground and the mountains as a backdrop. the condos in our column are one of the few ones in the building that point directly at the ocean. Most have a dog leg design, so that you have to be on the end of the sofa or on the lanai to see the view. So glad that you loved it to. Please come back and stay with us again. This condo met our needs perfectly! We are exploreres and dont spend a lot of time sitting on the beach. We were able to easily drive to all parts of the Island in a day. The condo is well equipped with extra's (cooler, chairs, boogie boards, etc) and attractively decorated and furnished. There is wonderful snorkeling on the Kihei side of the Island. The property isnt brand new but the pool, hot tub, grounds and building are well maintained. Ideal for a couple. Great value for $. I appreciated the prompt replies to our queries and would enjoy staying there again or recommending it to friends.Recommended for: Age 55+, sightseeing.

Why the Owner Chose Kauhale Makai - Village by the Sea:
Maui has been voted best island by Conde Nast for over 10 years in a row for a reason. It is beautiful, unspoiled, warm, and home to some of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. It is a haven for humpback whales, birds, and tropical fish, and boasts world class surfing, windsurfing, kite boarding, snorkeling and deep sea fishing. The lush vegetation, and perfect, sunny weather in Kihei is what attracted us to this side of the island. We selected this particular condo, because it is one of the few directly oceanfront buildings in Kihei, and we did not want a road between us and our ocean view. We also like being in Central Kihei within walking distance of bars, restaurants and shopping, but without the high traffic and activity of South Kihei. We get a kick out of seeing whales breeching in the ocean and coconuts growing, directly from our lanai!
