To call this an “air-conditioned apartment” is a gross misrepresentation and frankly a mockery. I rented this apartment for nine days beginning July 28, 2011. Prior to renting I was informed that there were two air conditioning units, one in each area. These units turned out to be stand-alone wheeled a/c units that have a huge hose in the back (1 foot by 5 feet) to expel the hot air produced in the cooling process. The units are inside the apartment and it is the renter that has to find a way to put the hoses outside so the hot air is not expelled inside the apartment. The living room has windows, so we were able to place one unit’s exhaust hose through a window. However the bedroom does not have a window; it has a door that leads to a terrace, so the hose remains on the floor through the open bedroom door to the terrace. When it rains the rainwater splashes and seeps into the bedroom's carpeted floor! If it's windy enough it could even rain on you in bed; we’re talking about an open door a foot from your bed leading to an uncovered narrow terrace! And even if you're lucky and it doesn’t rain, having to keep a window and door open at night allows noise coming in from the street, which is considerable until 1AM and from 7AM. We complained to the renting agency (ParisAddress) the very next day we arrived and they replied saying that the situation did not qualify us for a substitution since the apartment had the two a/c units that were promised. I in turn replied that these conditions do not meet anyone’s expectation of an “air-conditioned” apartment and that I would at least be expecting them to propose a discount on my rental costs. They never replied. But the story doesn’t end there: out of the nine days we rented, the building’s elevator did not work three days, randomly. One day we could not even make it into our apartment because the staircase is locked to access from the lobby! We had to wait for over an hour until by chance someone came down the stairs and let us in. The "agent" assigned to us by ParisAddress never answered her mobile phone that evening. Another day was the day of our departure and we had to lug 5 suitcases down 5 flights of a winding staircase. As far as my experience goes, this apartment is a sham, the rental agency is irresponsible, and the building is a mess. Good luck to you!Did you find this review helpful?
