This Luau studio condo underwent a major remodel in 2010 incorporating upgraded amenities not found in any other Sandestin studio! Upgraded amenities unique to our studio unit include keyless entry (no standing in line for check-in), a full kitchen with granite countertops, custom cabinetry, stainless steel electric range with a 4 burner cooktop, full sized microwave oven, full sized stainless refrigerator/freezer with automatic icemaker (very important on those balmy beach days!), stainless dishwasher and sink, an awesome 46' wall mounted flat screen television, iPod dock, and wall to wall ceramic tile. In keeping with the local flavor, guests will enjoy a relaxing beach inspired motif which is carried throughout with elegant, inviting furnishings and personal touches that make the unit feel like your very own 'home away from home.' With a king-sized bed, a pull out full sofa bed, and separate living/dining areas, we can comfortably accommodate a family of four (2 adults/2 children). Floor to ceiling sliding glass doors are your gateway from the living area to your private balcony where you can enjoy preferred western sunset views of which no two are the same, yet all are spectacular. And, with our tenth floor location, you can indulge in an unparalleled panoramic view of the gulf, the bay, and the 4300 sq ft saltwater pool (did somebody say Margaritas?!?). For added convenience, we have also secured a private storage area where guests will find beach chairs, umbrellas, boogie board, beach toys, and coolers for your exclusive and unlimited use.
Throughout the remodeling process it was our desire to create a place where guests can realize a unique and memorable vacation experience. Therefore, luxury and convenience, coupled with a true desire to anticipate every need of the vacationer, were of the utmost importance. We feel confident those aspirations have been met and we invite you to come feel the inspiration only a place so beautiful can bring….the sand looks like sugar, the sea like emeralds and the sunsets like heaven.

Decided to make a last minute trip to Destin;Book through VRBO. Very simple process, and the condo was exactly as pictured overlooking the resort, which has a beautiful view of the golf course. Condo is a two minute walk to the beach, and a quick drive to too much shopping. There's even a tram, which provide transportation to and from the harbor. I will book againRecommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, families with young children.

The property is perfectly described and just as we expected. We stayed for 6 nights with 2 children (ages 5 & 3). Continue reading for a detailed review: *Room: Clean-actually spotless- with a super comfy bed. The sleeper sofa has a memory foam pad making it incredibly comfortable, too. The coffee table is actually a large storage trunk which made it easy to put away extra bedding during the day when the sleeper sofa was used as a sofa. There is also a large armoir with plenty of storage. The kitchen had everything we needed, except paper towels. We cooked every day and while the kitchen is small, we had no problem preparing meals for the family. The sink is nice and deep and the dishwasher is a lifesaver. In terms of food storage, the fridge is big and clean, but there is limited cabinet space. We had a week's worth of food and snacks so we used the top shelf in the closet (adjacent to the kitchen) as a pantry which worked perfectly. The closet is large and perfect for stashing luggage, toys, etc. There was a pack and play in the closet but I'm not sure if it's always there. The bathroom has a large counter with three long drawers for additional storage. The bathroom is a nice size - not as small as most hotel bathrooms - and the shower/tub was roomy, steamy, and perfect. There is also a rack for drying wet clothes. The table is square with 2 chairs, but there are two padded chairs making it easy for a family of 4 to have a nice dinner. The balcony has a great view of the ocean, the bay (by Baytowne Wharf) and everything in between. My only complain is that the balcony is quite narrow (maybe 36 inches deep). *Pool - the pool is great and never crowded. Chairs and tables were plentiful, even if you waited until the middle of the afternoon. *Beach - the beach is an easy walk (even with a 3 year old) and the unit's storage closet has 2 chairs, and umbrella, a small cooler on wheels, and plenty of sand toys (more than we could use!), as well as a cart for toting it all to the beach. It was great to have the storage downstairs to stash away our sandy stuff - it helped keep the room clean. The resort has chairs and umbrellas available for rental and they are set up quite early. During peak times (we were there late July/early August), it's best to head down early and stake your ground if you want to be front row. One of use would set up the beach gear while the other prepared snacks (and kids) for a day at the beach.Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My 14 year old son and I just returned from a 5 night stay at the Luau in this condo and it was great. It is a great location and I love the pool at the Luau better than any other pool at Sandestin. It was great having an owners card and Sharon was great to work with. I highly recommend this unit for two people or a small family. Will definitely go again.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

My husband and I stayed in this unit for our wedding anniversary and new year's eve celebration. It was awesome for the two of us! Plenty of room, super clean, great location. We had to contact Sharon a couple of times during our stay and she was excellent to communicate with! She was quick with responses and VERY helpful! The only thing we could have used that wasn't in the condo was a blender. Great stay and highly recommend!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

AWESOME! We loved the condo! Very roomy for our family of four and super clean. The luau is such a NICE building. You had everything we could possibly need for the beach! And the beach was only a SHORT walk away. The condo had such a pretty view, we didn't want to leave. The full kitchen was so nice for us. The kids had their snacks whenever they needed them and we were able to cook meals as well. It was a wonderful place to come back to after a day of fun. Sharon you were very helpful and super fast with communications. We really appreciate that. The activities in Destin sheet you sent was incredibly helpful as well. It was a fantastic first trip to Destin for us! Thanks so much!!!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

For our first time to Destin, we weren't sure what to expect. We are so glad that we rented this unit. You can see the ocean from the balcony and the unit is west facing, so you can see the sunset. The building also has a sunset deck on the roof where you can watch sunsets. The beach is a short walk from the building and is a semi-private beach that is shared with the Hilton hotel and the other buildings in Sandestin. The owners have everything that you need for a day at the beach: umbrella, chairs, boogie board, sand toys, etc... The real jewel is the pool. During our stay, the waves were 2-4 feet due to winds from offshore storms so we spent the majority of our time in the pool rather than in the ocean. The pool is big and is jelly shaped, so there are a lot of curves and inlets that make the pool feel more private. Even when there are a lot of people in the pool, you generally have your own space and you are not on top of one another. The building is about 15 miles from Destin proper, but there is plenty to do within 5 miles of the resort. There is a large outlet mall for shopping and a couple of "neighborhood" type shopping complexes plus a number of restaurants (both casual and upscale). Plus, you don't have the traffic and headaches of Destin proper but are close enough if you do want to do any of the activities in Destin. All in all, we couldn't be happier with our stay.Recommended for: Sightseeing, romantic getaway, families with young children.

This was our first time to the area and we couldn't have asked for a more perfect place to stay! I don't think I'll even consider any other place to stay when we return, and trust me we will be returning as often as possible! The condo itself was great - more than enough room for the 3 of us. Having a full kitchen was a definite plus! The view was outstanding and the grounds just beautiful! Easy walk to the beach. And the pool.... Wow!! We think it's the best one in the area! Definitely a great location with plenty to do. And it was a delight communicating with Sharon... she made us feel more than welcome! Thanks for one of the best vacations my kids and I have had in a long time! We will be back!!Recommended for: Sightseeing, tourists without a car, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.

We had a great time and really wanted to thank you for your hospitality, everything was just fantastic! We liked Sandestin and the Luau location so much that we're actually considering buying a condo there now! If we don't end up buying one, we'll definitely be in touch next year to rent yours again.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

About the owner: We've lived in the area since 1971, always enjoyed the beach, fishing and water sports.
Why the Owner Chose Luau:
We purchased in Sandestin because it is, hands-down, the most beautiful resort on the Emerald Coast. In addition to the natural beauty, the unlimited amenities make Sandestin, in my opinion, the best resort in the area by far.
