This was our second trip to Kapaa staying at Pono Kai. You can't beat the staff or the central location for day trips to various areas of the island. The activity desk offers great service and seating was always premium. This unit was as promised and more. Furnished well, comfortable beds, clean, well maintained and the grounds are immaculate. There is no air conditioning but being the top unit there was adequate air flow and no noise from residents above that can be annoying. The lanai was a great place to see the sunrise, watch the whales or just relax.The walking trail as well as local restaurant and shops make the location even more enjoyable. Many thanks to the owners for providing a wonderful place to enjoy our vacation!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, people with disabilities, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Listing description is accurate, along with photos. Clean and well maintained (kitchen cabinets look new, other upgrades). View is beautiful, especially sunrise and moon rise. Well located - walking distance to several good places to eat and shop. Steps from the bike path. Perfect for us as we were visiting daughter and family who reside in Kapaa. The unit was a good gathering spot - spacious and good dining table, chairs, etc. Also the ocean provided a good visual and auditory backdrop for our activities. Elevator handy for 3rd. floor unit. My husband and 2 kids (ages 8 & 10) had the BEST time in Kaua'i on our trip in June. The east side IS the windward side so just expect it. But a half hour drive to the north or south shore really made our trip easy and carefree as we went wherever the sun and surf was best that day. The Ono Ono Shave Ice right across the street from the condo complex was unbelievable!!!! We had one nearly everyday! The historical town of Kapa'a was a couple of blocks away and we loved the choice of restaurants there. The condo was in perfect working order, very clean, good taste in decor, simple, and had all the everyday essentials we needed. We also played croquet, basketball, volleyball, and the use of the pool and hot tub while we were there. The kids really loved that. We will DEFINITELY stay here again the next time we're back in Kaua'i!!!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

Our family of five has just returned from three weeks on Kaua'i and this condo was a perfect home base. The view from the lanai was a highlight of our stay and the photos don't do it justice ... So peaceful and good for the soul. The condo was well-equipped with everything we needed and the loft was fabulous for our teens/ pre-teen. The grounds of the Pono Kai are gorgeous and include conveniences such as a pool, tennis court and barbecues. As well, the staff are friendly and accommodating. We love the location right in the heart of Kapa'a with everything from souvenir shopping, groceries and the fabulous walking/biking/running trail just seconds away. The condo is also within easy driving distance of the north and south of the island, making it perfect for sightseeing.The booking process was convenient and went smoothly. We would definitely stay here again and can't wait to go back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We so enjoyed our time in this condo. It was clean and very well maintained. The owners were very helpful with all our questions.The view is outstanding and the sunrises were breathe-taking.There is everything you would need for the beach right in the condo for your use.The 4 mile walking path is right in front of the condo and great for your morning walks.Great place we will be back!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

More than we expected. Whale watching time and saw them breaching and blowing constantly from the lani. Lovely paved walks out the front of the unit along the waterfront. Facilities were great (serviced Barbeques, Spa pool, etc) and staff very helpful. Walk to Dukes for meals (value for money). Was a bit cool to swim that time of year but plenty of other things to do instead. Highly recommend the helicopter rides over the island. Fresh fruit and veges from the markets were great. Kauai Coffee also really Really good- visit the farm to find your taste (about 40 different flavours) and buy as much as you can - doesn't last long enough ! Hanalei was good shopping for the ladies with Tahiti Nui good service, good food, well priced (if you can get a seat- be early !) and great local entertainment. Great catch out fishing although found a little expensive for the charter. First time to Kauai - the big chicken farm- but a really nice place to chill out, relax and unwind. Will definitely try to get back and chill out again.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We couldn't have chosen a more perfect setting for our first visit to Kauai. We spent one week in the Nords' spacious and cozy unit overlooking the ocean and glorious sunrises (unit faces east). I looked forward to getting up at first light just to watch the sunrise. A tremendous plus for me was the wonderful paved walking/cycling path that began near the condo and continued for several miles along the coast past beaches, rugged and rocky coastline, through lush meadows and quiet secluded coves - what a way to start the day! The layout of the condo with the loft bedroom and a downstairs bedroom was great, exactly as described and depicted in the listing photos. Everything we needed for our comfort was provided. The town of Kapaa was at our doorstep with its quaint old buildings and cute boutiques and eateries. The landscaping on the grounds of the condo complex was lovely. We lacked for nothing. After a long day of exploring this spectacular island, it was such a treat to return to the comfort of our condo and a leisurely meal. Thank you Will and Jeanette for a memorable visit.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, sightseeing.

The condo was exactly as advertised. We loved the beautiful lanai with the amazing ocean view. What a treat it was to stay here. We could easily walk to town for a bite or just walk on the path along the ocean. The local agent called to let us know where the beach towels were and was available if we needed anything else. Our only disappointment was the weather - it was rainy and humid while we were here, so we are hoping to come back in the summer and stay again. We are looking forward to the beautiful sunrises over the ocean! The location of the condo is ideal for getting around the island, as well as for convenience to the airport. It is located in Kapa'a and we loved walking there to visit the shops, restaurants and especially getting 'shave ice' at Ono Family Restaurant. The condo was exactly as described by the owners and was very roomy, clean and fully equipped. The owners were very helpful and responded quickly to questions and concerns we had before our visit. While we were on Kauai the weather was very hot and humid which did cause the condo to become quite stuffy for the duration of our stay. Aside from that our experience was wonderful. Our favorite thing to do was have breakfast on the lanai as we watched the glorious sunrise each morning. After that we walked along the 5-mile trail that goes along the water. The Pona Kai Resort is fabulous and had everything we could have wanted. It's such a relaxing environment we could easily imagine spending an extended time there, and would love to do so again in the future.Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, romantic getaway.

This condo is so wonderful. My husband and I had such a great time at this place. The view is truly amazing. The condo is as advertised and very clean and the entire property is just beautiful. The location of the condo is perfect. Easy to get around the entire island. The booking of the condo was very easy. We had a great time in Kauai! Your unit is spacious, beautiful view, in a fabulous resort very centrally located, just great! The kids enjoyed the various activities - especially swimming in the pool, but also miniature golf, croquet, shuffleboard, tennis, & basketball while I cooked burgers on the outdoor grills. I sat on the lanai to enjoy the breeze & view every evening & even took in a sunrise once or twice. We were pleasantly surprised with the spaciousness of the loft. The kids loved having their own space up there (as did I). We hope to stay there again next time we go to kauai!! (Maybe next summer!! I can only hope...)Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

This vacation couldn't have gone any better. And the property is absolutely stunning. The views and the ocean are even more incredible in person and the condo couldn't have been any more desirable. You will get everything you want and more out of this place, it was great. Walks on the beach and incredible tourist spots abound. It was so very easy to book and it was no hassles through the entire trip. Try this place for sure!!!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with young children.

We really enjoyed our stay. My wife loved the decor. The view was wonderful, and the beds comfy. The booking went fine and the owners got right back to us promptly. My husband and I were able to visit this property in February. The views from the lanai are amazing - sunrises each day and the lull of the waves to put you to sleep at night. The property management was quick and efficient in answering all my questions and even had some nice suggestions of where to shop and eat out. I would highly recommend this condo to anyone looking for a stressfree, relaxing vacation experience.Recommended for: Romantic getaway

This place is as advertised and then some. The views from the deck were amazing. What a place to read a book / watch a sunset. The walking trail and close proximately to stores / restaurants was an added benefit. Of all of the islands we have been to this is our favoriate. Not the club night life for 20 yo's, however for a couple or a family it's the best. Lots to do; snorkeling was amazing as was swimming with the turtles. Can't wait to go again and I'd like to thank the condo owners for leaving us a bottle of their grapes which they so perfectly make into their Napa Valley wine. WOW, what a value this rental is, what a wonderful time we had. This is a great little condo. The location is perfect in Kapaa--just minutes from the airport and located in the center of the island so trips north or south are equal distance. The PonoKai Resort is fabulous for the family with tons of great activities like shuffleboard, croquet, tennis and more. My son never got bored with all of the amenities. We loved that we could buy groceries and make our dinner at the resort utilizing the outdoor barbeques on the property--it felt like an extension of home. The condo is very cozy and the very clean. We loved the view from the deck--it's spectacular to watch the sunrise and sunset each day and the 5 mile trail located directly below the condo was terrific. We rented bikes, exercised and just loved walking along that trail. I would definitely recommend this spot!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, sightseeing.

My husband and I spent a winter month in this very comfortable condominium. The kitchen was well furnished with all the appliances, dishes and cooking utensil's for preparing meals. The deck over looking the ocean is breath taking at sunrise. We had breakfast on the deck and watched the fishing boats leaving the harbor in early mornings. A day did not go bye that we did not see whales. We did a lot of walking to the little village of Kapaa for meals, the library where you can rent DVDs and don't forget to visit the local bakery which bakes wonderful fresh bread's. The pool is nice but there is also a nice beach just over the river bridge. We went to Poipu for their beautiful sunsets and good restaurants. My husband and I are looking forward to another stay at this unit.Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, tourists without a car, sightseeing.

This condo is truly ocean front. You have a spectacular view of the ocean even while relaxing indoors. It is truly spectacular. I've been to other condos in Hawaii where you have to lean over the balcony to see the ocean. The view from this condo is truly breathtaking, and makes the entire vacation feel like paradise. This condo is centrally located in Kapa'a so it's easy to get to the north shore beaches and the south shore beaches. It is on the top level with a beautiful ocean view with walking trails into central Kapa'a. It is clean and the property is great for kids with a swimming pool, hot tub, Koi pond, miniature golf, tennis and outdoor barbeques. This two bedroom condo not only has a Million dollar view, it has a great Lanai (balcony) to enjoy the ocean view and all its lustre! The condo is upstairs/downstairs, but having a bedroom on the lower level sure came in handy (I wasn't well for a couple of our days). The kitchen is lovely and large enough to easily handle a chef and his su! The bathroom is large and is able to accomodate an entire family's toiletries and wet suits. My husband and I had a lovely relaxing time re-couperating from our Son's week long destination wedding in Oahu. Since the condo is centrally located in the city of Kapaa, it was so easy to stroll the four blocks to historic downtown Kapaa with its variety of restaurants, bakeries, open air markets and unique shops. We had a great week enjoying the beautiful island of Kauai, and this condominium with it's great location and beautiful landscaped grounds made it even that more wonderful and effortless!Recommended for: Adventure seekers, age 55+, families with teenagers, families with young children, girls getaway, tourists without a car, romantic getaway, sightseeing.
