Our West Harwich home has all the charm of yesteryear with the comforts and conveniences of today. You will find a mix of the old and the new, with wide pine floors, lots of windows, Cape Cod dormers and a farmhouse feel balanced with the newly updated kitchen and baths, cable TV and wireless Internet access. With sleeping accommodations for eight, our home is well suited for two small families, a large family, a girls get away or a few couples. A large open living area and three outdoor living spaces - a large deck, a patio/grill area and a screened front porch - provides plenty of room both inside and out for togetherness. There are also lots of nooks and crannies for that late afternoon nap or reading.
We are located on a quiet street, 4/10 mile from Nantucket Sound beaches. Additionally our location offers easy access to the Cape Cod Rail Trail(and we have bicycles for your use!), you can walk to a park at the end of our street with trails and a playground for children or walk in the other direction to town for ice cream, pizza, shops and restaurants. We think it's the perfect spot for rest, relaxation and fun!
Our home comfortably sleeps eight. There are two bedrooms on the first floor (1 queen, 1 twin) and a full bathroom. The upstairs has three bedrooms (1 queen, 1 full, 1 twin trundle bed) and another full bath. Each room has a dresser, night stands and reading lamps. Some have a small TV as well. The beds are comfortable and cozy. You'll sleep well after a day in the sun, swimming, good food and drink, a bike ride or a round of golf. There is something very peaceful about falling asleep in the quiet Cape Cod night, with the ocean breeze and the sweet smell of sea air.
The house comes with a fully equipped kitchen, including lobster pot and crackers (you will need to supply your own bibs!). There is a coffee maker, microwave, oven, toaster, and dishwasher. There is a grille on the patio. Common spices are stocked in the kitchen for your use as well. For those of you not so into cooking, there are many great restaurants and local take-out places in Harwich. The bathrooms are newly updated and very clean. We also have a washer and dryer on the first floor and a large outdoor shower.
Our home will be well prepared for your arrival. Upon entering you will note the warmth and simplicity of the decor and begin to unwind and relax. The house will be immaculately cleaned (with environmentally friendly products), the beds will be made and the outdoor furniture set-up. All you will need to do is unpack and meander to the grocery to stock up for the week. If something is not right, we are just a phone call away to make it right!
Cape Cod Charm - All Year Long!
Although most people think that summer on Cape Cod is the best season, we love the Cape all year long. Each season offers its own special magic. Fall is beautiful with the changing color of the leaves, the warm bay and ocean water, cranberry fall festivals and craft shows, the always available seafood, warm days and cool nights. Springtime on the Cape is when everything comes alive - the budding trees, the flowers, the calm sea and lots of pre-season specials. Winter is truly the quiet time on the Cape, but there is a special feel from Thanksgiving to Christmas in the small towns and villages. Shopping for holiday gifts, looking at the lights and long walks on the beach are some of the highlights. And summer - sun, swimming, bike riding on the rail trail, kayaking, mini golf, ice cream, barbecues, outdoor showers, walks along the shore and just hanging out - what more could you ask for?
Our West Harwich Charmer has quickly become a place we call home. It is our little piece of quiet simplicity in a sometimes hectic world. We know you will love it as well. Let us know if you would like to visit.

Cape Cod Bliss! This cottage was my home base for an exciting Cape Cod adventure. Situated in the quaint town of West Harwich, this lovely home is so centrally located on the Cape that I could literally explore the entire cape in both directions. I felt right at home with exceptional comfort.
This cottage has everything I had hoped for, including two truly fantastic patios to enjoy the outdoor experience. The large side patio on the side of the home looks into the spacious yard, with a family size table and chairs, umbrella and lots of space for a large gathering. There was also great yard to play in and explore. The Front patio is a fully screen-enclosed room and provides a perfect place to enjoy morning coffee, sit down for a good read or just enjoy a glass of wine at day’s end.
Each of the bedrooms is decorated in the traditional Cape Cod style, welcoming dreams of the seashore. The home is quiet, serene and peaceful. I found it well stocked with wonderful books, games, and puzzles as well as local information, including maps and personal recommendations. If you want to prepare your own meals, the kitchen has everything you need.
I was so close to the shore, restaurants and markets, there was no need for a car. There were also excellent trails nearby for walking and biking! The owners even offer a wide selection of bikes for guest use!
This lovely cottage is the perfect choice to spend an entire season on Cape Cod!

From Our Guest Book: We had such a wonderful week staying on the Cape! The house was fantastic! We loved the deck, the screened-in porch, and the yard in particular. The house was so well stocked too. We loved the proximity to the beach, especially since we have 2 small children. Thanks for a great week! From Our Guest Book: A family wedding at Wychmere Harbor brought us to the Cape. We've always stayed at the family home on Bank Street, but this time there just wasn't enough room. We came from all over the country. Your home provided a wonderful gathering place for our adult children, their spouses and our grandchildren. Besides the late afternoon wedding (with the sun shining!) we had a lobster dinner from George's, melt aways from Benatt's and pies from Marion's in Chatham. Bike rides (thanks for the bikes), hikes on Harwich Conservancy Trails and lots of beach time. Thanks for providing such a wonderful place for our family. Our young granddaughter loved the puzzles and the daily visits from the bunnies.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

From Our Guest Book: We enjoyed our stay. Our family felt very comfortable here. We had a fantastic week for weather . . . the fans kept us cool even on hot nights. We liked Red River Beach the best but all the beaches were nice. Thank you for the coffee and jam . . . very nice. I especially liked sitting on the deck or front porch and looking at the hydrangeas. Looking forward to coming back!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 0/0

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2010
About the owner: Summers on Cape Cod are a tradition for us. It is really a place where memories are made. I will soon be an "empty nester" and look forward to exploring the Cape in the off season and sharing the Cape in the summer with my "grown" children, friends and family. I am a licensed psychologist by day - the outdoors, the fresh sea air, the meandering in quaint shops and little towns and good food on the Cape feed my soul.
Why the Owner Chose Harwich:
We spent many summers vacationing and exploring Cape Cod before deciding to purchase our home in West Harwich. For us, Harwich "has it all". Ideally located half-way between either end of the Cape, Harwich has spectacular salt water beaches on Nantucket Sound, the largest fresh water ponds, miles of biking and hiking trails, conservation land, boating, fishing and award winning golf courses. The seven villages of Harwich all have their own unique feel, with fabulous restaurants, shops and art galleries. Harwich is a small New England town. The feeling is relaxed and the people are friendly. And we have the Harwich Mariners, our own Cape Cod Baseball League team.
The Unique Benefits at this House:
We looked at many houses before purchasing this home. Our home has a simple elegance to it, with a calm, cozy and relaxed feel. There is nothing more enjoyable than sitting on the deck, drinking coffee in the morning and listening to the birds and Nantucket Sound. We love that we can walk to the beach and to town and that children feel safe in the neighborhood and are able to explore on their own. As food lovers, we also enjoy the many restaurants close by and ice cream "on demand".
