My husband and I, our three grown children and two grandchildren traveled from upstate NY and the Atlanta area at this lovely, comfortable home on Lake Lure. It was the first time we were all together in over a year. This was the perfect, stress free vacation! This is probably THE best location on the lake. Views are stunning, especially the sunsets! The 5 bedrooms allowed privacy and quiet place for kids' naps and the open main floor gave us lots of space to get together. We cooked most nights. Kitchen had everything we needed, nice Weber gas grill on the deck and nice supermarket close by. Loved the easy access to deck atop the boathouse and with a 3 year old we really appreciated the safety gates. We rented the pontoon boat for 3 days. Great fun to cruise around the lake.

Ledsfords Landing is a wonderful home with a world class view. My family loved every minute of our vacation from exploring the lake in the pontoon boat, swimming and floating in the warm lake water, hiking, site seeing and mostly just relaxing hanging out with each other. The home had everything we needed and the open floor plan and large amount of outdoor space was perfect for our family gathering. The sunsets are amazing from the deck and even better in the middle of the lake on the pontoon. If you are looking for a fun and relaxing family vacation I can't think of a better place to be.

My family just finished the best vacation we could have possibly had. This Lake House afforded us the opportunity to gather Sons, Daughters, Children and Grandchildren all under one roof with plenty of room for everyone, Well appointed and comfortable to the 5 star level this is the way to vacation! There is something for everyone here and plenty of room for kids to play in the water or out. Love it!!

We spent a long Easter weekend at this lake house and found everything to our liking. The house was neat and clean. Rooms were well supplied with necessities, games, dvd's, kitchen wear. The whole family enjoyed the kayaks and canoes. We spent one afternoon paddling to a restaurant in the next cove for lunch. Lunch was excellent. My son enjoyed fishing off of the dock and actually caught 5 fish. It was a wonderful family weekend. Would recommend to family and friends.

The magnificent sunset was something we enjoyed every evening as we paddled our way down the lake. The amenities that accompanied this rental were nothing sort of phenomenal. Fishing, boating, kayaks galore, and a beautiful view no matter which way one turned. The property lends itself for family gatherings and kids (of all ages) enjoy this rich environment. I appreciate having a fully stocked kitchen which enabled me to cook Thanksgiving Dinner for 20 guests. The house had many travel brochures available for near by activities, I've been to every antique store within a 50 mile radius. We loved the books on local history and the private library could have kept me busy for weeks. The fire place was equipped with ample wood and we also enjoyed the outdoor grill. The grandchildren loved the small area for games and toys that came with the property. The owners were awesome and accommodating in so many ways. They provided a wonderful get-a-way for our family at a much needed time and we will forever be grateful for their kindnesses. We highly recommend this property and all I could say would not be good enough! We hope to go back in Thanksgiving 2012. Thank you!

My family, friends, and I stayed at Ledford's Landing last week, and it was such a PERFECT weekend getaway. This lakefront house is nestled on 14 tranquil and beautiful acres, right at the base of Lake Lure. The house is picture perfect, and the owners have thought of everything(even a discount card on the fridge for the local grocery store). The kitchen is well stocked, the games, and toys (lots for kids... we didn't bring ours) and even an abundant supply of water toys, i.e. kayaks, canoes, 4 seat pontoon, water floats, everything. And while all of these things made our trip very very nice, the best part of our entire vacation planning was working with Jenny, the owner. She is very sweet, thoughtful, caring, and of course professional. I would highly recommend Ledford Landing! I'm already planning our next return getaway there.

Looking for a "great" vacation in a mountain/lake setting ? This is the place. Large lake front home with outstanding amenities available. The "sunsets" you will never forget. A pontoon boat available for your lake cruising, especially in the early morning when the day is just starting. Quiet, peaceful atmosphere, great for the kids too. Three golf courses nearby, Restaurants that meet every taste. Historic areas just a short drive away. We highly recommend this vacation spot for whatever your goals may be, from a large family gatherings to just a cozy stay. Would definitely return for another visit, our Third.

This was one of the nicest vacations we ever had. The pictures don't even do this justice. It was absolutely beautiful. The cove is so very quiet and tranquil. My Mom, sisters and husbands came for a vacation and it was perfect. We actually got to meet the owners and children and they are lovely people and very accommodating. We rented their pontoon boat and now we want to buy one!!! We went to some very nice restaurants, visited the Biltmore Estate (that is something you must do!!) Absolutely gorgeous!!! I would recommend this vacation spot to people of all ages. Wish I could live there!!

We have come to Ledfords landing now for several years. We come with our grown children and our grandchildren. Eleven of us in total. The house comfortably accommodates us all. Typical days are spent in, or on the lake. Many mountains, towns and parks are nearby and frequently some, or all, of us take day trips. No stay is complete without a day at Chimney Rock, golf (minature for the kids), dinner at one of many local restaurants and hours and hours spent in the lake. The Cox's who are the owners are wonderful people. Always thoughtful and always have the house in top condition. Each of our days ends sitting on the top of the boathouse watching the sun disappear over the mountains.

Ledford's Landing provided the setting for one of the best family vacations we have ever had. The layout of the house is perfect with a large family room that adjoins the kitchen. So much thought has gone into what a family would need when away from home. The decks and walkways are child friendly with gates at each opening that can be locked for safety. The driveway and landscape is great compared to the usual steep settings at most Lake Lure houses. The yard is flat and cars can be parked by the house and off of the street. Everything needed for lake fun is in the boathouse. All of these things were wonderful, but the thing that stands out the most is the beautiful sunset from the deck over the boathouse. It was breathtaking as we spent family dinners gazing at the beautiful site. Jenny is so caring and she and Tom were wonderful to work with. Our family loved our vacation there and will be back again.

Beautiful home, it was hard to leave after our week was over. We did get a couple of days of rain but the whole idea of this vacation is get our whole family together and enjoy each other and this home was perfect for our family. Plenty of room, well kept grounds/dock/decks and home. Never stayed at a place that had all the amenties this home had, it was almost like walking into your own home. I would most highly recommend this home.

We could not have chosen a more perfect place than Ledford's Landing for our family gathering. From the moment we arrived, we were delighted with this lovely, spacious, and comfortable home. From the youngest to the oldest, each person tremendously enjoyed the time we spent there. The children were overjoyed with the great selection of toys and books, and the adults were amazed at the beautiful views and the serene setting, as well as all the extra amenities provided. The pontoon boat provided an excellent opportunity to see the surrounding lake area and to just enjoy the great outdoors. We really appreciate the graciousness and helpfulness of the owners and would love to come back for many more memorable visits. The Hathaways Palm Beach Gardens, FL

We stayed at the beautiful Ledford's Landing vacation home during the 2005 Christmas holiday. We found the home to be impeccably clean, comfortable, and welcoming! The owners even put up a Christmas tree for us to have fun decorating with our own items we brought from home. The view of the mountains was spectacular!! Our son, as cold as it was, got out on the paddleboat and enjoyed the tranquility of beautiful Lake Lure. What a fantastic spot! We made good use of the wonderful fireplace on those chilly evenings while watching Christmas movies. We will never forget how we spent Christmas 2005 at Ledford's Landing in Lake Lure, NC. Thank you for helping us to create wonderful and lasting memories! The Raneri & Lambert Families

Our family is very large and growing each year. With ten adults and five children under the age of 4, it can be difficult to find adequate space that we can enjoy together. Ledford’s Landing was absolutely perfect for us. The entire house was wonderfully childproofed that allowed us to kick back and watch the kids play instead of constantly running after them. We also enjoyed the use of the pontoon boat. Whenever the kids got too rowdy we would just load them up and go for a cruise. It was a fabulous distraction and relaxing for the adults as well. The swimming areas were also fabulous. The kids loved the shallow beach area where they could splash around. For an adventurous family that planned to find a new and exciting location each year for vacation we have decided to stick with Ledford’s Landing. It was simply too perfect! We look forward to spending time with you again next summer.

We had a large family reunion at beautiful Ledford's Landing and can't say enough great things about our week there. Included in our group were 5 small children under the age of 3 years old. There was so much for them to do and see, including swimming, hiking, boating, playing in the large field next to the water...endless ways to keep them busy and happy! And also safe - the house was very "childproof" which also made our stay more enjoyable. And the kids weren't the only ones who had a blast! All of the adults agree - we're coming back next year! Thanks for a wonderful week. We love your place. The Fitzgeralds (part of the Cunningham gang)

I'm wonderfully rested and totally inspired after our retreat get-a-way at Ledford's Landing! We had a great time. And have plans to make this a yearly retreat. The Lake Lure Tours, which we also highly recommend even mentions Sunset Cove as the filming location for some scenes in Firestarter. The house itself was warm and welcoming and we immediately felt at home. Thanks again for all your help. Very much looking forward to visiting again.

When our family takes a vacation we desire to "make memories" - ones that will last for a lifetime. Ledford Landing provided an incredibly lovely location for that to occur. We have made three trips to this lovely spot at Lake Lure. First, with our son, his wife, and children. Second, with our Young Adult Bible Study group, and last, with another group from our church. In each case our time proved to be a blessing to all who went. They each said, "This is a must for another outing!" The home looks out upon beautiful Lake Lure surrounded by rugged mountains unlike most of the North Carolina Blue Ridge range. The cove Ledford Landing is situated on is quiet and secluded. The dock provides an incredible view of the sunset. We found the home itself immaculate and lovely. The downstairs family room provides a large area for fellowship. The roomy kitchen provided everything we needed to work as a group to fix a simple lunch or a gourmet dinner. Each bedroom was decorated with such taste - all eye-appealing. Three had exits onto the balcony overlooking the lake. This provided a perfect location for reading or just being. The bathrooms were immaculate (A must for our family!). The very large waterfront area provided places for our groups to play softball and crochet. Some enjoyed fishing. One feature that was a blessing with our family was the safety precautions the owners had made. Each access off the porch to the lake had safety gates to assure the children couldn't go alone. Returning to Ledfold Landing is not a question. It is assured! We desire to be blessed with another opportunity to make memories with loved ones in this lovely mountain get-away.

Thank you for your hospitality on such a beautiful weekend! Your home is very comfortable and beautifully furnished. We had everything we needed here, and then some! Our kids were thrilled to find some toys and books already here. We especially enjoyed sitting out on the dock and just enjoying the lake and mountains. We plan to make this an annual trip!
