Our house was completely renovated in 2007. The downstairs has an open floor plan with the kitchen open to the living/dining area. It looks out on South Cove which is located at the mouth of the Connecticut River. Enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets from the living room and upstairs bedrooms. The area is great for walking, biking, and kayaking. There is easy access for kayaking right in front of the house. There is a swimming beach within walking distance. We are located across the street from a nine hole links style golf course that is open year round weather permitting. The house is set back from the road and has no close neighbors. There is an open porch on one side of the house and a blue stone patio overlooking the cove and river on the other side. It is a quiet relaxing place no matter what season of the year.

We stay in the house for a holiday from Italy for 8 days in March-April, 2013. Wonderful views, great location (on golf course) and the house very well furnished. What you can see in the listing photos, is not nothing compared to reality... And the owner absolutely friendly and helpful. Really great! We'll be back!Recommended for: Pet owners, families with teenagers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We spent Thanksgiving week here and really enjoyed the visit. The house was very comfortable and the surrounding area very beautiful. The owner was prompt and helpful in replying to all my questions. Hurricane Sandy had arrived 3 weeks before our arrival, so I was worried about damage to the house or area that would affect our plans. The owner was in frequent contact with me, reassuring me that all was well and it was! We could see evidence of the flood waters and high winds on our walks, but none on the property. The kitchen was very well stocked with all needed cooking utensils, dishes, pots, pans, and lots of spices and condiments. Our two kids go to college nearby and we were able to do lots of "home cooking" for them. Everything was clean and well cared for. I highly recommend it!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

This is a wonderful waterfront home that is very well designed, maintained, furnished and decorated. It has just about everything you could want! The open layout from the kitchen to the family room leading out the patio, all overlooking the water, is a big highlight. The immediate area of Fenwick is cozy with walkways, tennis, golf and amazing large summer cottages. Old Saybrook is a great town with diverse shopping, restaurants and the Katherine Hepburn Theatre The owners are friendly and helpful. This house can be rented with confidence We had a great time and will return!Recommended for: Families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.

We came to celebrate my son's graduation from Wesleyan University - a 30 minute drive. The house and location were ideal and far better than I expected. Over the course of the week, family and friends aged 21 to 90 all appreciated the beautiful views of the water, swans, rabbits, willdflowers, fabulous walks to the beach and lighthouse. Enjoyed meals at Liv's and the PennyLane Pub, and appreciated the Starbucks - all in Old Saybrook. Other great meals at Gabrielle's in Centerbrook and the Brushmill in Chester. Fun excursions to Essex and Mystic. Sorry we didn't have time for more. The owner could not have been nicer and more accomodating.Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing.
Owner response: We are so glad that the house worked well for you. It looks as though you took full advantage of what the area has to offer in a small amount of time! We hope you will return again.

This house was absolutely lovely and perfect for our New Year's Eve. The house was beautifully furnished with everything we could possibly need. We ordered cooked lobsters from Saybrook Fish Market and spent the evening in. It could not have been lovelier. The view is incredible and windows surround the living area. The owner was very responsive from the beginning. We would love to come back. Fenwick is a delightful area to walk and the weather cooperated. We enjoyed the view of the golf course, the sound and the beautiful homes surrounding us. Thank you for a wonderful visit.Owner response: We are so glad that you enjoyed our house. We also love the location and the views. We hope you will come back again!

The weather was as beautiful as the surroundings. This cottage lived up to and exceeded our expectations. The property was clean, attractive and comfortable, and we thorougly enjoyed our stay. We loved seeing all the birds and enjoyed a visit from deer, wild turkey and cottontails. There is much to do in the area. We visited the Florence Griswold Museum, the beach, antique shops, art galleries and R.J. Julia Bookshop. But we primarily loved the rest, relaxation and the lovely view from the living room windows.Recommended for: Age 55+, romantic getaway, sightseeing.

We spent a week in October with another couple where the weather was not the best but, the beautiful house made it all worthwhile. It has everything you need inside and great views outside. Loved the backgammon table and the large living room area. Very comfortable!Recommended for: Age 55+, pet owners, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, romantic getaway, families with young children, sightseeing, tourists without a car.
Owner response: We are so glad that you enjoyed the house even though the weather was not great. Hopefully if you return again next September or October the weather will cooperate! We love having the backgammon table and the puzzle board that fits on top. Please come again!
