Newly Updated, Walk to Town, Near Tanglewood
- Minimum stay:N/A
- Internet:Yes
- Pets allowed:Yes
- Wheel chair accessible:No
Newly renovated Victorian cottage in Lee center. It has been furnished and equipped with an eye for comfort and convenience but retains the charm of a turn of the century cottage. The furniture and mattresses are new. Two baths - one with a refinished claw foot soaking tub and shower, the other with a walk-in shower.
Plenty of space to relax with an open living room/dining room, newly landscaped back patio, and fantastic front porch. Porch has a gate to keep in kids or a dog.
A/C unit on first floor and master bedroom - ceiling fans on first floor and master bedroom.
Two bedrooms have queen-sized beds and the master is large enough to also include an aerobed (supplied) for a child if needed. The third bedroom has a double bed. Kitchen is fully equipped and linens provided. Brand new washer-dryer in first floor bathroom. Both bathrooms are newly renovated.
Please note: the location of the house is not conducive to visitors with mobility problems - there is a flight of stairs to get to the front door and no driveway. All bedrooms are on the second floor.
The town of Lee is friendly and warm with great restaurants and shopping. A supermarket is a few minutes' walk from the house, as is a great bakery and also an organic market. It is about 10-15 minutes to any Berkshire activity - Tanglewood, Shakespeare and Co, Berkshire Theater Festival, Barrington Stage, downtown Stockbridge and Great Barrington. And the outlets are right up the street. Picnic-ing gear for Tanglewood provided - just supply the picnic.

Pretty house and we appreciated the comfy beds and having the tub and walk-in shower options. So nice to find a spot in the Berkshires where we could take a good walk with sidewalks and no big hills. Thanks for the leaving spices and things in the kitchen, laundry soap, hand soap, etc - very convenient.Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Great house - so comfortable, everything we could need! We've rented in many other locales and this was hands down the better location for getting to Tanglewood, etc. Loved walking to the cafe for coffee and to dinner at night. And we were able to bring our yorkie - big plus. Thanks!Did you find this review helpful? Yes | No Helpful votes: 1/1

Even though I live in Massachusetts and it is only a couple of hours away, the Berkshires are a true escape from Boston. This house is homey, neat and quiet with lots of light and very comfortable beds. The owner, Julie, obviously has taken a lot of care to make the place cozy with its inviting color scheme and decor - it is the kind of place where friends immediately find their favorite spot, whether it is lounging on the couch, playing cards at the table, or sitting on the porch, which is nicely set back from the road. I love that if you don't feel like driving, you can walk right into Lee for a bite to eat, or just soak up some Berkshire charm - even the hardware store is fun to browse around. It is also an easy and pretty drive to Great Barrington if you are in the mood for some boutique shopping (which we were). I also appreciate that Julie has thoroughly explored the area herself, has provided her own recommendations, and clearly wants you to enjoy your stay. We had more than enough room with four friends and I'm sure it will be even better with the second bathroom. I would definitely stay here again.Recommended for: Families with teenagers, sightseeing, pet owners, romantic getaway, age 55+, families with young children, girls getaway.
