Condo is in a great location. Can walk everywhere and Portland is a great city. The owner of the condo was terrific to work with and provided us with a lot of information about museums, shops, restaurants etc. She also has lots of info in the condo itself. She's prompt at returning phone calls and very personable. We felt very comfortable working with her and staying in the condo.Recommended for: Age 55+, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing.

What a great location. During our entire stay, we were able to walk to most places, and when we needed to drive, everything was very easy to find. The condo was clean, nicely decorated and had a wonderful “homey” quality – we felt comfortable immediately. We kept the windows open everyday – great breeze throughout all the rooms, and we loved hearing the seagulls. Connie was very helpful thru the entire rental process – this was our first VRBO experience. It was great having a well stocked kitchen and bathroom, and the laundry facility was a plus as well. We would highly recommend!Recommended for: Age 55+, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

I travel frequently for work, and this is one of the best places I've stayed in a very long time. From the eclectic art on the walls to the changing views outside each window, the condo embraces you. The cliche of "a home away from home" actually applies here. It's warm, bright, spacious, and even cosy. I really didn't want to leave. The location is excellent, with museums, the Old Port, interesting little shops, and scores of great restaurants within a few blocks. You've probably read about Portland's restaurant scene by now; it's even better than they say. Don't miss the mailboat cruise on Casco Bay, or Minucchi's, or Coffee by Design, or Duckfats, or Fore Street for a splurge. Constance was a marvelous host and sent lots of useful info in advance. I can't wait to return.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

Perfect place to stay while at a workshop in Portland. Close to everything, fully equipped for cooking in, secure building. Recommended to friends and colleagues. If ever in Portland again, would request to stay here! So much better than a hotel. My friends at the workshop who got a hotel were jealous!Recommended for: Age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We spent 3 rainy days in this lovely rental. Fantastic views (might even be able to see the water, if it's not raining) and the sound seagulls was music to our ears. Constance, the owner, was extremely kind and helpful. She made us feel right at home in bringing our 17 month old. There are restaurants within walking distance, but we dined in Old Port for the most part. We highly recommend Standard Bakery (almond croissants to die for) and Duckfat. We'd definitely chose this rental again.Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, adventure seekers, sightseeing, romantic getaway.

We stayed here for a week in late April and were very happy with the accommodations. We are a family of 4 - with 2 small children. The place was perfect for us. We were able to put our children to bed upstairs early, enjoy our evening downstairs (or out at one of the great portland restaurants), and then sneak into bed without waking up the kids. If you're in a similar situation, we've sent the owner our recommendation for a great local babysitter. Connie was super easy to communicate with - both via email and on the phone. I highly recommend this rental to families, friends, and couples. There's plenty of room for 2 couples and a kid or 2 - 2 fold out couches downstairs and 1 queen size bed up. This place is a gem - centrally located and spacious and furnished with beautiful antiques!Recommended for: Families with young children, age 55+, families with teenagers, girls getaway, sightseeing, romantic getaway.
Owner response: I think the recent tenants review from California was a good relection about what the condo does offer. Her review of Portland's restaurants is spot on. We have many outstanding eateries reviews the NYT. The location of this charming "gem" is a real bonus, in fact it is what drew our attention to the place. From an east side sunrise, to a three minute walk to the Portland Museum of Fine Arts, Jazz Clubs and Art Galleries, we have it all. Not to mention ocean is everywhere, bike and walking path abound and the city is wonderful! Make it your next Portland vacation.

Owner info
Year Purchased: 2009
About the owner: From Vermont, our family has always vacationed in Maine on the coast. My grandfather was a minister in town and is buried here. From the first time we visited Portland we loved it. Foghorns, sunny days, walks on the beach or a good book by the fire all satisfy. Seafood - a favorite of ours abounds.
Why the Owner Chose Portland:
when we walked into the condo it was a 'wow' moment. It is very serene, and yet in the middle of downtown and only minutes away from almost anything to do in Portland. Walking distance to the Old Port. Read a book by the fireplace, snooze, a view from every window keeps things lively. Our son moved into the condo when he was at USM majoring in Jazz saxaphone.
The Unique Benefits at this Condo:
Unique and acclaimed restaurants. Eat fresh fruit, vegeatbles and fish. LOBSTER. Walk and admire the architecture. Ride bikes all over the city. Take a drive to a beach. Portland is like a small oasis in a vast landscape of beaches, rocks, skyblue, sunsets, parks and streams.
