We just got back from an amazing vacation at Manuel Antonio, and we loved every minute of it. We stayed in (one of the three-story villas) with six adults and three young children. Because my son is only 9 months old, our concierge acquired a crib and high chair for him. Additionally, he added netting around the balcony to make it safer for such a small child. We were greeted by squirrel monkeys soon after arrival, and my older kids (ages 3 and 5) jumped into the hot tub immediately. The villa and Tulemar property are so delightful, my kids wanted to stay all day! We enjoyed some excursions to the Fincas Naturales and the Manuel Antonio National Park, but we were happy to hike the beautiful Tulemar trails and play on the beach most days. The private beach was perfect; we enjoyed eating on the beach and meeting other guests. We also used the boogie boards and kayaks to enjoy the ocean. We spent every afternoon at the spectacular family pool. The drinks were delicious, and both kids and adults loved the water. It was an easy walk from our villa, and my kids had fun meeting other kids at the pool. We usually ate breakfast at the villa, and there are several local restaurants that are less than 5 minutes away. We also ordered takeout, and delivery to Tulemar was exceptionally convenient! All in all, we could not have asked for a more perfect vacation. Even with three small children! We will be back.

We spent four nights in a three bedroom villa at Tulemar in early April. I can't say enough nice things about our stay. The service was impeccable, as was the villa and the grounds. For us the best part was the wildlife and the birds. We had monkeys right around our house on several occasions. They were not at all aggressive, and actually let us take pictures as they ate fruit from trees just a few feet away. We will definitely go back to Tulemar at the first opportunity.

We stayed in a three bedroom villa and had the most amazing time. The house was beyond incredible with a supreme attention to detail. We sat each morning and watched the monkeys play in the trees as we sipped our coffee. We loved the private beach and how well we were taken care of while we played in the water or sat and enjoyed the sunsets. Between the house, the accommodations of the resort and the staff nothing was missed. If you truly want to enjoy life and relax there is no place better. Oh...and go zip lining...its incredibly fun! Paradise and more.

Tulemar is a self-contained Paradise that has everything you'll find in the Manuel Antonio park, only better! From the fantastic private beach to the beautiful property with pools, hiking trails and abundant wildlife (we saw several monkeys, sloths, birds...including a flock of tucans), you never need to leave Tulemar to experience the coast. We stayed in a three bedroom, three story unit that is well appointed and well maintained with 180-degree views from both balcony levels stretching from the water to the mountains. Balconies (one which has a hot tub) are a great place for bird/nature watching. This Buena Vista three bedroom villa has an excellent staff too. Our family could not have loved it more. We will be back and tell our friends about it also. Nothing else like this place. Thank you Cindy for setting us up.

This was the most beautiful and relaxing vacation anyone could ask for. Our three bedroom villa was absolutely amazing. My husband and I stayed here with two other couples and were blown away by the gorgeous house, the great amenities, the beautiful views, and the awesome staff. The staff at Tulemar definitely went above and beyond to make our stay one to remember. Our concierge Julien was fantastic. He was very respectful of our privacy but at the same time very attentive to all of our needs. He even made arrangements for us on his day off. David - treated us like royalty at the private beach. He would set up our chairs, offer towels, and provided us with a table for our cooler of beer (i think he mentioned so we didn't have to reach so far for our drinks). Daniela and Al I think are the best bartenders I know. They were quick to mix up drinks pool side that were VERY tasty and refreshing(Coco Loco was one of my favorites and I highly recommend). During our stay we did alot of sight seeing and visited many restaurants but what stands out the most is the Phenomenal food that chef Kris prepared. He came to our house, prepared and enduldged us in the most amazing food! Many mornings we would walk the grounds of Tulemar only to see families of squirrel monkeys, howler monkeys, flocks of red and green parrots, a sloth (that the wonderful grounds crew ponted out to us), and many other critters. Who needs the national park when you can see everything with Tulemar. Every night we would end the night by watching the most magnificent sunset from our balcony. We have only been home a couple of weeks and we are ready to go back. Julien get ready we are coming with the entire family. Tulemar definitely made me a Costa Rican lover. Pura Vida!!

I highly recommend this property! We have traveled a LOT and the Three bedroom Premium Villas at Tulemar are the NICEST accommodations we have ever seen! The pictures don't do them justice! They are "Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous" nice! In addition to the villas being insanely beautiful, so were the incredibly manicured grounds! We were also SPOILED by the attention of Chris and Julien who made our trip unforgettable! I met them on the web site page and they answered my one million questions happily before my arrival. Our every need or want was taken care of with ease. With that said, Tulemar treats EVERY client as a VIP and we certainly felt it! The VIEW from the villa is fabulous and the BEST part was the VISIT from the MONKEYS on the porch! Our kids will never forget it! MY ONLY WARNING is for FAMILIES with CHILDREN UNDER 4 (and or elderly parents) as this lovely hotel is built on a very steep hill because the town of Manuel Antonio is ON A BIG HILL/small mountain itself!! MOST (if not all) hotel properties are very hilly-nothing you can do about that but it is good to know ahead of time! Walking around the property can be challenging BUT they do offer shuttle service so that can make it work. Also you should know that the family pool is DEEP! Our 9 year old could not touch the ground but they still loved it! Just a warning for kids that can't swim yet! However, it is a beautiful pool with a bar & grill so it's great for families, just a warning for the depth of the pool! Also, the premium villas are three stories (bedrooms downstairs) with lots of stairs which would have been a concern for me when I had toddlers. Also, the balcony has a huge drop off and an open railing system (which made me nervous with my 5 year old) but as soon as I expressed concern two guys were there to install a safety mesh netting over the railing. The fastest response I've ever seen to any hotel issue! If you do have children I recommend you get ABBY to babysit and go out for a child free evening out! Our kids had a blast with her and we loved our date night! I ALWAYS include warnings with my reviews because I like people to KNOW EVERYTHING and as a mom I think it is important to know safety issues. With that said, the only REAL WARNING about this property is that it will SPOIL YOU!! Can't imagine ever being impressed by a hotel again. Amazing vacation!!!!! We will definitely be back.

We had the pleasure of staying in the Buena Vista 3 Bedroom Villas for a week at the end of February. We had a group of 10 adults, with 6 of us staying in the 3 story, picture perfect villa. First, the staff at Tulemar is amazing, but we absolutely fell in love with Julien our concierge for the week. He arranged excursions, taxis, dinner cooked in our villa by a chef, massages in the room and helped us with any other needs we had. Julien showed us that vacationing in Costa Rica is all about Pura Vida. Tulemar is a gorgeous property with multiple pools for those that like to lounge around, but the private beach with free kayaks, snorkeling equipment and boogie boards is where the action is! There is a great snack bar down at the beach, so you can enjoy breakfast and lunch with cocktails in the Costa Rica sun. There are multiple restaurants with amazing food in walking distance from Tulemar, so you will never go hungry! We were all very sad to leave, but would highly recommend Tulemar and it's staff to anyone that is looking for an amazing trip to Costa Rica. Thank you Cindy for helping us to select this wonderful villa.

We just completed our second stay in a Buena Vista three bedroom villa which was located at the "top" of the resort. We love the location for its fabulous view and the ease of walking into the village to go to the restaurants, markets, bank, etc. with our grandchildren. Julien was scheduled to be our concierge but he was busy when we arrived so Chris helped us throughout our stay. He couldn't have been more helpful, meeting all our needs. He was great finding a rental car for us at the last moment that would fit our family of 6 and surfboards and gave many helpful suggestions on what we should do. We love the resort. Our granddaughters would have spent their days at the beach or pool and never left it. But once we got them out, they had a great time on the zip lining tour, horseback riding adventure, etc. that were arranged for us. The house was wonderful. The beds are very comfortable, the outdoor showers fun, and the kitchen well equipped. The maids even washed the dirty clothes we had put in the hampers! It is truly paradise in Tulemar. Thanks Cindy for making our arrangements again.

This was a fabulous family vacation!! Our villa (Buena Vista three bedroom villas) was perfect. We traveled with our 20 and 22 year old kids and loved every second at Tulemar. After much travel and adventure we were finally ready to relax, enjoy the beach, pools, sunshine and just chill. Mauricio was so wonderful. He welcomed us with a big smile, a bottle of champagne and monkeys and toucans all in the first 5 minutes. Our villa was beautiful, plenty of space ,well furnished, full kitchen but the part all 4 of us liked the best were the large indoor/outdoor showers. That was a treat to shower in the jungle wondering if we're going to have visitors. (We didn't in the shower though we did find monkeys in our jacuzzi). We were so happy at the the private beach, with the chair and towel service. We looked forward to hanging with Luis, who managed the beach bar and restaurant. The food was great especially the fish. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. It was a pleasure to have a shuttle service to haul us back up the hill after our relaxing time at the beach. We enjoyed the small hikes exploring the wild life. The restaurants recommended by Mauricio were great. We really liked Kapi Kapi, Agua azul, Ronnie's place and cafe Milagro which became our breakfast spot. We spent a terrific morning on a catamaran with a open bar in the pacific (saw dolphins, and snorkeled in the bay) as well as was cooked another great Costa Rican lunch on the boat. The guides couldn't do enough for us. We also took advantage of the relaxing massages that were set up in our house. Silvia and her friend were terrific. A little pampering never hurts. One evening Mauricio set up a private chef to cook dinner for us. What a special night and the food was fresh and delicious. The rest of the time we spent hiking, surfing and swimming, exploring and just hanging !!! Not only will we be coming back but I can't wait to refer Tulemar Gardens to our friends. Thank you Cindy for suggesting this fantastic villa.

What a beautiful place for the perfect vacation! Our family of eight stayed in a Buena Vista three bedroom villa for a week in January and it was fabulous! The home is gorgeous with amazing views and the beach is fantastic! Our concierge, Mauricio, took care of everything (and more!) and he couldn't have been nicer or easier to work with! The beach cafe was a fun place for a breakfast or lunch; heaven! Restaurants are close, excellent and we so enjoyed eating in an open air environment in January! We loved zip-lining, jet skiing and touring Manuel Antonio National Park as well as our days on the private beach. People here are amazingly friendly and kind. This place is tough to top and we will definitely be back! Stayed January 2013, traveled with family

We recently returned from an incredible vacation to Costa Rica. We spent the first several days of our trip in Manuel Antonio, staying in one of the Tulemar Bungalows. I truly can not come up with enough positive words to describe our time there. Our concierge, Chris, was incredible. He assisted with the planning of our trip from the beginning, had a taxi waiting for us at the Quepos airport and greeted us with a big smile and beautiful, freshly cut flowers in our Bungalow. The view from our Bungalow was breathtaking. Chris assisted us with great dinner recommendations where the food was fantastic and even brought us to buy groceries. We greatly enjoyed our time at the private beach, again also incredible, and free use of boogie boards, as well as the convenience of the beach-side restaurant. It is definitely a place I would highly recommend and plan on returning to in the future. Amazing! Thank you!!

We just returned from a family vacation ( 2 adults, 2 teenagers 17 and 18) to Manuel Antonio, Costa Rica. We stayed in one of the 2 bedroom Buena Vista premium villas which is simply incredible. Very clean, comfortable and well appointed with all the comforts of home. It had the most breath taking views I have ever seen. In addition, we saw monkeys in the trees almost every morning. We were very lucky to have Julien as our concierge. He was available by e-mail to answer our many questions from the day we booked the villa. He pre-arranged our tours prior to our arrival, which I recommend by the way, as they do fill up. So,once we got there there wasn't too much we needed but Julien checked in with us at least daily to see if there was anything he could do for us. It was always a pleasure to hear from him. He helped with dinner reservations and brought us chocolate (yummy) and a bottle of champagne on New Years Eve. We asked him to come to the villa to take some family pictures for us one afternoon and he did so happily. He was terrific. We ate at the beach restaurant several times and enjoyed the food very much each time. The tradition breakfast our first morning was delicious as was the Mahi-Mahi sandwich at lunch. Luiz and his staff were great. The bar tender was friendly and we loved the frozen drinks. Green Paradise and Buena Vista breeze our personal favorites. We ate at only 2 local restaurants as we bought groceries and enjoyed eating on the balcony enjoying the view as much as going out. We ate at Victorias and Agua Azul, both excellent and very close. It was not an issue for us that there is no restaurant for dinner on the Tulemar property as there are many choices very nearby. We did order pizza one night from Victorias and they delivered right to our door and it was really good. The beach is just outstanding, sandy and the warmest water we have ever been swimming in. We took out the free kayaks a couple of times, used the snorkeling gear and boogie boards. Never had a problem getting chairs. David at the beach was great too, setting up chairs, umbrellas and getting kayaks ready for us. I really can't say enough about this amazing place. We felt very well taken care of and enjoyed ourselves beyond our wildest dreams. We loved the Manuel Antonio area and are already thinking about when we can go back. I would not even consider staying anywhere else. It is simply the best. Do yourself a favor and treat yourself to a stay at Tulemar.

This was my second trip to Costa Rica, last time I stayed at La Mariposa. Tulemar Villas was superior in so many ways. Here are the top reasons to stay at Tulemar, not in any specific order. We stayed here 5 nights before heading to the Lost Iguana(4 star) in Arenal. There was 9 of us in our party. 1. The private beach is amazing. Kayaks, boogie boards, little bar and little breakfast/lunch nook. 2. The villa is unreal. 3. The pools(4) are beautiful. 4. The trails are pristine. 5. Proximity to local eateries and shops is right outside the gate. 6.Friendly staff. 7.Privacy. 8.Wildlife 9.Views 10.Full Kitchen I am a very selective(picky) person when it comes to hotels and this wonderful place has it all! The best!

We spent 6 nights at your most excellent vacation spot in early November, 2012. Our family stayed at a Buena Vista three bedroom villa. Lots of room for our family. Not only did we experience incredible sunsets, but we also experienced incredible fireworks in the form of lightning that lit up the sky for miles around! Loved the van rides up and down the hill, breakfast at the beach each morning, the sloth in the tree at the beach, the pina coladas at the beach while the rain pored down, the incredible birds flitting about our villa each morning, the very friendly and helpful staff, the list goes on and on! It was a very relaxing end to 3 weeks of hiking and birding across Costa Rica and one that we will highly recommend to our friends. Coming in the slower season has its advantages. The staff are very devoted to ensuring you have an exceptional stay and you certainly get their undivided attention! But it does rain a fair amount ... but it is a warm rain, so one cannot complain! We cannot say enough good things about our stay at Buena Vista Villas except that we hope to return again some time soon!

Our family of 8 stayed at a three bedroom villa called Casa Ylang Ylang for a week in November, and we could not have been more pleased. The house was very comfortable, with gorgeous views of the beach and the surrounding trees (w/ monkeys!). We even casually inquired about buying, which I think says more than anything further I can write. Julien (concierge) was great for us ... arranging tours (ATVs and Whitewater rafting strongly recommended, Zip Lining was fun but fairly tame), reservations, getting my newborn a high chair and playpen, supermarket trips, pharmacy runs. He was extremely helpful and made every effort to go above and beyond, really did make the trip more fun and relaxing. The kids loved the beach and boogie boarding, while the pool was more relaxing. The food at the beach was very good and so were the drinks. We really loved it and I could not recommend it more highly.

We highly recommend Tulemar as a vacation destination for families. We stayed in a three bedroom villa which was even more beautiful than the pictures on the website. Our boys loved the private beach, playing on the boogie boards, kayaking, and snorkeling which was all available for our use. We saw more monkeys and sloths in Tulemar than in Manuel Antonio National Park. We were impressed with the 1st class service provided by the staff. They checked in often to make sure that we were having a great time. They made arrangements for activities such as white water rafting and zip lining. Every restaurant we tried was outstanding. As a mom, I felt relaxed and pampered. We stayed for 7 nights and could have stayed longer with all of the activities in the area.

We rented this villa for our family vacation and never wanted to leave!! Cindy at Tulemar Vacations, www.2tulemar.com suggested this Buena Vista three bedroom for us. The villa exceeded our expectations. It was beautiful, clean, had a wonderful kitchen and the views were stunning. The kids loved it as well. The monkeys and birds were right outside our patios. We really enjoyed watching and listening to the wildlife. We walked to the beach each morning and spent most of the days there. The tide had fun waves for our boogie board attempts, there were plenty of chairs for beach lounging and beach toys for the kids. The margarita I had was perfect. We had some fabulous meals all within a couple of blocks of the property. We loved Café Milagro for great coffee and breakfast, Sanchos for lunch and Barba Roja for a fun dinner with live music. When we travel I look for a property close to the fun while remaining safe and quite at night and this three bedroom has it all! Julien, the concierge was the perfect match for this property. He was so enthusiastic and professional. He immediately welcomed us with warmth and fabulous tips for eating and shopping. During our stay he continued to check in with us to ensure all of our needs were met. He has a wonderful energy that compliments this beautiful home and location. I would recommend this three bedroom villa to ANYONE for a wonderful vacation

Gorgeous villas in a wonderful location. Quepos is close as is Manuel Antonio, there is a small grocery close by. Concierge very helpful, and there are a ton of activities close by (we did mangroves, horseback riding, quads). Pools were wonderful, four of them. Beach is wonderful, sheltered so small kids would have a great time there and its also easy to kayak from shore to coves which are close by. The beach, if you are young and fit, is not to hard to get to though the hill is steep. However if you have mobility issues or are carrying tons of kid stuff it can be very tiring. There is a shuttle that can take you back and forth. Love the little food place on the beach and the toys for use. Great place and can't wait to get back.

We have travelled extensively, my father was an Air Canada pilot for 37 years. We've stayed in all manor of places but Tulemar is our new favourite place by the sea. It was not perfect but where you could find something imperfect you also found a smiling staff offering ways to make it perfect again. Thank you to Mauricio, Dave and all staff who make this incredible place perfect. Our only regret was leaving.

Since this was our first time visiting Costa Rica we weren't sure what to expect but as soon as we stepped into Casa Del Mar we knew this would be our favorite vacation house. Not only is the casita perfect for us as a couple, there would have been plenty of space for another couple too. The home was furnished beautifully and the views of the ocean were perfect. From jungle strolls to the perfect private beach...this home is a winner and we'll definitely be back!
