Welcome to our charming historic home. Built in 1893, this Victorian style home is located in a Renaissance District in the heart of Galveston, two blocks behind St. Patrick’s Church. The house is a survivor of the Great Storm of 1900.
The owners have made all efforts to keep the historical architecture in tact when the 2800 sq ft house was updated in July of 2008. Most of the antiques, art, and furnishings have been purchased in Galveston.
If you love historical charm, you will enjoying staying at our wonderful home.

We stayed in the house this past Mardi Gras (2012) and Mardi Gras 2011. The house and the owners are wonderful. Staying in the Hidden Gem is like taking a step back in time! The house is beautiful and the attention to detail adds to its historic wonder. We hope to spend many more Mardi Gras nights in the years to come. Thank you Sylvia and Fred.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, adventure seekers, age 55+.

This was the second year that we have rented this lovely home. Sylvia and Fred have done a fantastic job of making a "second home" for our family and friends. They are extremely gracious and the house is very comfortable. We look forward to returning next year because we all feel this house is where we belong.Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, families with teenagers, age 55+, sightseeing.

Thank you Silvia for a wonderful stay in the Christmas gem! We stayed here for a wedding and this lovely home was very close to where the wedding and reception took place. We had several family members stay and there was plenty of room for everyone. The Christmas decorations were a nice surprise! I would love to come back for a girls weekend in the near future! Thank you again Silvia!Recommended for: Girls getaway, age 55+.

Hidden Gem was a delightful place to stay while we were in town for my niece's recent wedding. The spacious 2800 ft home with soaring ceilings was tastefully decorated throughout. There was 4 of us couples and a 5 year old. We had plenty of room between the 2 living areas and room for all of us together at the large dining room table. It is so hard to say which room was my favorite as each one was well appointed. Sylvia was always prompt in responding to all my inquiries and great help in finding places for other family members to stay. You will NOT be dissapointed in this spacious, very clean home. It is well stocked with kitchen supplies and towels unlike so many other 'furnished' rentals. I will definitely be back again! This is perfect for girls weekend or for family gatherings as their is plenty of privacy and room to spread out! Thank you Sylvia, for sharing your beautiful home with us!Recommended for: Romantic getaway, girls getaway, adventure seekers, families with teenagers, age 55+, families with young children.
