My husband and I stayed here for our wedding & honeymoon. The apartment is cozy and private with a beautiful balcony overlooking the ocean. Kalaheo, the town where the apartment is located, is nice and quiet. It's away from all the tourists, yet it is close to all the main attractions in Kauai. Connie made our stay special with her generosity and kindness. We really enjoyed staying here. Thank you so much, Connie.Recommended for: Romantic getaway.

This was our first time with VRPO and we couldn't be happier with our accomodations. The unit is clean, and well equipped and the bed is very comfortable. The lanai is spacious with a nice table for meals and a variety of comfortable chairs for lounging. There is a generous and eclectic collection of compact disks for listening in the entertainment unit and the beautiful Kukuiolono Park and municipal golf course (Nine Dollars per round!!!) is within walking distance. A real treat. Most importantly, Connie is an incredibly gracious and caring host and a joy to meet. Thanks so much, Connie, for a relaxing and healing 10 days. We're already looking forward to our next visit.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

The apartment, located high over the water in a quiet neighborhood, has easy access to the highway and all of the activities in Poi pu, Hannappe, Waimea, and more. What a treat to have stayed in this super clean and charming place in a week of rain and wind. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook many of our meals, and the big lanai was a pleasant place to eat and watch the rain. The garden and yard are spectacular, and the hosts are there when you need anything. We highly recommend this rental to our family and friends.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

For the first time in few years, we decided to rent away from the beach at a lower cost and extend our vacation. This decision turned to be far better than we anticipated for the following reasons: -the rental was all what we expected and more, the house is located in a very nice neighborhood with amazing views, close to the city golf course ($9/9 holes)with beautiful ocean views and marvelous sunrises. -Connie and Joe went above and beyond to be the best possible hosts, and they totally succeeded with us, they are plainly awesome and they are one of the reasons we already decided to go right back next year. -turned out that renting away from the beach could be, contrary to my expectations, a good thing; to go anywhere we had to drive, because of that, we ended up seeing more of the beautiful island of Kauai, compared to last time when we booked ocean front.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.
Owner response: Aloha Vasile & Manoela, Thank you for the great review. We enjoyed having you as our guests. Thank you for booking our poipu condo for next year. VRBO#216433

What a wonderful 2 weeks we had with you all. The unit is just perfect with all needed amenities and lots of extras. The furnishings are so very pleasant and the lanai just a tropical retreat. You will not find more gracious hosts anywhere. We had an amazing experience in the quiet neighborhood. We slept so well on this trip! If you are looking for a quiet, very reasonably priced but comfortable but yet elegant home away from home, this is what you are looking for. We have nothing but words of praise for the hosts and Hale Keo.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway.

My fiance and I had an amazing time in Kauai and the lodging experience contributed to that! The unit was very comfortable and had all the necessities we needed. Having a private lanai where we could watch the sunrise was a huge bonus. The bed was very comfortable and the unit overall was pretty quiet. We enjoyed having a full kitchen (minus dishwasher) where we could cook ahead and take meals with us for picnics while hiking or snorkeling. The location being close to Poipu Beach we appreciated...great snorkeling there. Hiking to Waimea Canyon was only 30 mins away which was perfect. A little longer drive to get to East Coast as well as North Coast. Also, want to mention that there is a yoga studio close to this vacation unit that we heard rave reviews about.Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, age 55+.

Joe and Connie have been gracious hosts for our three week vacation. We are seniors and found the apartment to be exactly what we needed; a quiet, private place to relax in the gentle climate of Kauai. The yard and garden are beautiful and inviting enough that we spent three entire days at 'home' during our stay. The Salt Pond beach is close by and usually not crowded. Traffic is not nearly as bothersome as on the north shore.Recommended for: Sightseeing, age 55+, romantic getaway, girls getaway.
Owner response: Thank you Pat & Terry for your very nice comments. You have been wonderful guests. We hope you will come back and stay with us again. Mahalo, Connie & Joe

My wife and I spent about 3 weeks here with Joe and we loved it. It felt like we actually lived in Kauai instead of staying in the touristy areas. You can't see in the photos, but there is an amazing view from the porch area overlooking Poipu and the ocean. The property was very clean and cozy. We felt very comfortable and at home while we were there. The kitchen had everything you needed to make dinners, smoothies, etc. It was great barbecuing out in the garden area overlooking the magnificent view. The umbrella, chairs, and cooler were extremely handy while we were out at the beach all day. The place was very well centralized making it really easy to get around. Fairly close to the main highway, but you can't hear it so don't worry about that. I would definitely recommend staying here especially if you want to feel like a local while you are there. We had a fabulous time!! Thanks Joe!Recommended for: Sightseeing, adventure seekers, people with disabilities, tourists without a car, age 55+, romantic getaway, families with young children, girls getaway.
